"Everything about Mastro's speaks of perfection. The bone in ribeye and bone in filet are the best you will get anywhere. Portions of any item are excessively large so keep that in mind when ordering. There will definitely be a portion of the meal which will need to be taken home. My only negative comment is the onion rings. One member of our party ordered them and they are a heavy batter like you would find in a hamburger joint. If you like that kind of onion ring in a classy place then go for it. If not, be sure to move on to one of their other sides. Service is excellent and wine list is reasonable."

"This is the second time we have dined at Mastro's. It was fantastic. The first time we had a Business Christmas party with a private room. It was exceptional. This time my husband and I celebrated our wedding anniversary. The food is incredible! The service phenomenal. I highly recommend Mastro's and while it is pricy it is worth every penny. The seafood towers are the best!!!!"

"Have been here a couple of times over the past 5 years and every time it's a wonderful experience..... My wife and I had visited in 2010 and had loved the bottle of wine which they had recommended to us but we couldn't remember the name when we went on our latest visit (2013). Our waiter was able to go back through our profile and look up the exact name of the wine which we thought was something special :)...."

"It's a tradition of ours to go to Mastro's to celebrate our special occasions. This time we went to celebrate my husband's birthday and as always, Mastro's didn't disappoint! The service was outstanding and the food was fabulous! The New York Pepper Steak and Filet were both delicious. The Chocolate Sin Cake they brought out for my husband was to die for! It was a nice, quiet and romantic dinner."

"Went for the first time for my wife's birthday. We each got the filet, it was cooked to perfection and melted in our mouths. The wine recommendation was spot on by Frank, our server. You should ask for him when making reservations. He is a consummate professional and evokes the professionalism and outstanding customer service skills not typically displayed elsewhere.
There's live entertainment nightly in the lounge. The piano duo we saw were absolutely fantastic. So much so that we stayed for a nightcap after finishing our dinner wine in the lounge!

"I enjoyed my recent dining experience at Mastro's Steakhouse. The ambience is impressive, the food is always excellent and the views of the desert are great. My date and I enjoyed a romantic dinner. The only drawback was the typical Scottsdale snobbery. Our waiter was visibly disappointed when we did not order the most expensive wines and entrees. Friendly service should be extended to all customers."

"I have been to the maestros in Chicago and this location paralleled in quality and service. They have an excellent wine list and a pretty knowledgable staff on it. "We had a late dinner and chose to sit in the bar area. Our steaks were delish, the Kobe steak which was not on the menu was so tender. The Tomahawk steak is huge so bring your appetite! The entertainment was awesome! Incredible piano players and singers! Thanks for making my birthday dinner memorable. Can't wait to try the breakfast buffet one day!"

"Went to mastros Saturday for dinner- in a word excellent. The service, drinks, steak and sea food all outstanding, Warm Butter Cake really good also. The only negative thing i could mention was the table, there is a stretch of 7 or 8 tables in a row, and we sat at a table for two between two tables of four, there is barely room between the tables, but by the time we received our apps both tables were gone and no one sat at either table the rest of the time we were there. Overall really good, we will be back,"

"If you have the coin, this place is amazing! Absolutely the best dessert you will find - warm butter cake. Another truly out of this world option is the lobster mashed potatoes. Mastro's is our favorite restaurant for a fine dining steakhouse and we've been to most of them in Phoenix."

"The restaurant which has a wonderful reputation, still far exceeded our expectations. The food is outstanding. We had just returned home from Las Vegas before dining here and none of the 'named chef' restaurants we ate at in Vegas even came close to the quality of Maestros. Be sure to try the Butter Cake for dessert. It is like nothing you've ever tasted. The only downside is noise level. Ask for a table in a quieter area if you want to carry on a conversation with your dinner companions."

"This is a must when we come to our Scottsdale home. There is always a great dining experience, never a dissappointment. Many a friend/client have joined us and recommended a high profile competitor..you all know the ones. I always took them to Mastros the following evening. Without fail my friends/clients would realize that Mastros was the place to go and when they returned the ONLY place to go. Pricey, yes...a little too dark, yes...but a 10 out of 10 for food, selection, wine list and attention. One more thing..make a reservation whether its a Monday or a Saturday..."

Even the impeccable bus boys who filled our water glasses without prompt and scraped the crumbs off the table between courses- the attention to every aspect of fine dining is there! This is a great place to take a romantic date or have a nice dinner with a group of friends. I don't think this is a good place for children however, leave them with the sitter and go out and spoil yourself! We will definately go back."

"We had to ask to be moved as it was so extremely noisy that we could not have a conversation with our out-of-town guest. Second table was better. I felt that my bone-in ribeye steak was covered with entirely too much butter (or some kind of greasy sauce). I thought that the kitchen was trying to disguise an overdone steak which was supposed to be medium rare. My wife took our steaks home and into the refridge. Next day each was covered in congealed grease and sauce. She refused to eat them and put them down the garbage disposal. We felt this was a terrible end for overpriced steaks. The service was great from valet parking, to wait staff, to buss persons. We were very dissapointed with the steaks; sides and appetizers were good however"

"Probably the most expensive steak house I've ever been to and that includes all the major spots in New York, SF, Dallas, Atlanta, etc. I have no problem paying top dollar at high end spots but Mastros is over the top in this regard. It's mostly the sides and other items and not necessarily the main courses. I ordered my 12-oz bone-in filet MR and it was Medium Well on the sides and Medium in the middle and frankly not a very good piece of meat. The meat tended to shred like a pot roast when cut. Others in my party were pleased with their steak's temperatures, however. I didn't want to complain or make a scene in front of my guests but the steak was indeed disappointing."

"A very nice restaurant for a special occasion. My steak was very good, but I tasted my husband's and it really tasted like hamburger. His was very disappointing. Not sure what happened with his,tasted freezer burnt. This restaurant was very pricy, so it was disappointing that his meal wasn't the best."

The menu selections and quality; service (friendly-fun-experienced-knowledgeable); ambiance; are tough to compete with.
THE best steaks and sides (lobster mashed potatoes to die for). Veggies sauteed are a nice alternative to steamed, and the Triple Chocolate Layer Cake with heavy whipped cream and raspberries...OMG...our favorite dessert.
My husband ordered the Japanese Wagyu for his steak choice. Not always available on the menu, was a very special treat. This was the most tender and flavorful he has tasted, and it "melted" in your mouth.
