"Overpriced for the food and service, by at least 25%. I will not return. Service was slow. After being seated, once the waiter got to us, he wanted both our drink and food orders. Drinks came relatively quickly, but the food came before we were halfway through the drinks. My NY steak was the best tasting shoe leather I've ever had. Did I say it was tough? The others indicated their food was very good (tri-tip, prawns, short ribs)."

"We had an excellent experience dining with you Sunday night. We had an excellent serverand she provided with some extra ammenties on our anniversary date. "I love this place and come here at least every 2 months. I had made online reservations and noted that our party would be celebrating 2 birthdays. First my drink order was incorrect, then one party received their salad while mine was completely forgotten. So after 20 minutes I had to order my salad again. Later, because our waitress hadn't checked in on us, when someone else came to ask us how things were going, the other 2 in my party asked for drink refills. Well, they were given diet soda instead of regular. It also took our food - the yummy crab sandwiches - quite a while to come. And since things were not going so well, I didn't bother to mention the birthdays even though I was one of the birthday girls. Oh well..."

"I seem to always order the same thing for lunch. The 1/2 crab sandwich and this time with the homemade potato chips. It was as good as usual. My mom ordered the same thing, but with sweet potato fries. The sweet potato fries were the best I've ever had. As always...we enjoyed the view of the marina..."

"We went on Mother's Day. I think I have learned my lesson now about going out on Mother's Day.. The reservation time was honored about 10 min late (no biggie, we had no kids), we were given a table next to the window that looked like it was set up for a larger group, but we were happy to have it. Carnations were given out to the Mothers at the table. Wait Staff was friendly, but the meal didnt flow as well because there was always something needed at the table (refills, etc..) They could have been more attentive, but I can say that we have not had a better experience anywhere else on Mother's Day. Food was OK, not great as it usually is.
Overall - still love the restaurant - will come back not on a holiday :)"

"Unfortunately, we were really disappointed with some of the food items we received. You'd expect a certain level of quality, when spending ~$30 an entree, and from this restaurant group. I understand that it was a busy holiday, but even with their shortened menu that evening, the quality just wasn't there. Calamari was so greasy the breading didn't stick, mahi mahi entree seemed like it was sitting in a warmer all day dry, maine lobster was slightly rubbery, and couldn't find one potato in the clam chowder. On a positive note, the foccacia was good, service was good, and the weather was nice at the Marina."

"Service was really bad. Had to call the manager as we sat there for an hour without our order being taken, No bread on the table.
Our waitress was like a character out of "gone with the wind" I don't know nothing bout babies attitude. whew.. Had two drinks while waiting with no food, I got too buzzed to enjoy my meal. If it was up to me I would'nt have tipped. Go again, yes its my favorite place to go but they MUST GET some energetic young people waiting tables.. Amen..."

"We had a reservation and with in 3 minuets of arriving we were seated at a table by the window just set up for us.
We enjoyed the friendliness of all the staff. The food was great and filling. We could not have any desert because the other food was so filling.
The view was very nice however I could not take my eyes off my Angle Bride of 42 years."

"Very small portion of clam chowder with few clams, too much dressing on very pricey cesar salad, no glass brought with bottle beer, (we asked, it came frosted) short ribs ok, mahi mahi was dry, overcooked, luke-warm, 6 small 1/2-sized potatoes and 3 pieces of baby broccoli. very disappointed, Horatio's was on our "bucket list for San Leandro". "I've been to Horatio's about a dozen times over the last six years. Each trip was excellent, except for our trip on Sunday night May 5th, our 34th wedding anniversary. In our OpenTable reservation, we requested a window table because it was our 34th wedding anniversary. That request was completely ignored, as when we were seated (in a pleasant booth, but in the middle of the restaurant) there were open window tables that we were not shown to. Neither was the special occasion recognized...I was kind of hoping it would be. Then, our order wasn't taken properly, appetizer arrived late, and our entrees then recooked/reheated and burnt. I'll be back...but the basics just weren't covered well that night."

"Sat out on the patio to enjoy a nice Sunday brunch. Music was inappropriate -Alternative to club music and volume level was way too loud. I appreciate loud -good music but this was not a fit for brunch. It wasn't our waiters best day. Forgot drinks when table was plated with entree's. Politely reminded at that time and didn't bring drinks out until we finished our meal.
Been dining at Horatio's for ~30 years. Food was good but protein was skimpy (two jumbo shrimp on a salad and small portion of crab) on the plate -for an entree. Not their best day."

"I have to say the food was great.. But as soon as we were seated, they only asked half of the table for drinks. I asked for a drink after and they finally brought it to me halfway through lunch. Throughout the lunch they did not ask if we needed anything or even acknowledge our table. Even after we finished our lunch, we had waited 20 minutes for them to ask us if we wanted dessert? At that point we just wanted the check and to leave. Although the waiter was EXRREMELY nice, he was lacking attentiveness."

"My favorite place in San Leandro - staff is always cordial, professional and friendly. The servers know the menu and are openly willing to make suggestions and share their insights. "We have eaten at Horatios several times over several years. It has been consistently very good in all catergories. It has a great view of the boat harbor and flights into Oakland International Airport. The food is well prepared and the service is usually very good. We would highly recommend this restaurant."

"We had a small party of 3 for Brunch. The food was wonderful, as always. But, the best part of the experience was our server. Although the restaurant was packed and bustling, she was cool, calm and collected and gave us the impression that we were her only guests. We know she was very busy, but appreciated her calm and very sweet demeanor.
I have been to Horatio's many, many times and can honestly say I have never had a bad experience."

"The Restaurant is in a very scenic location. You can watch the Marina activity and the planes landing in Oakland. It made us feel like we were in a sailing ship.
The food was very good but, very small portions and very expensive.
This would be great for a couple having a night out for a special occasion out but not a family."

"I've grown up growing to Horatio's but as an adult I venture to try new things I would have never tried as a kid. I got their crab stuffed mahi-mahi and it was delicious!! Our waitress was awesome and friendly and very informative."

"Even though they are poart of a big corporate chain of restaurants they go out of their way to be accomodating. Even though I've always liked this place because of it's ambiance it just seems to get better all the time. Not too many really nice restaurants in the East Bay, especially outside of Oakland, but this place really feels upscale and classy - a great place to take someone for a special evening."

"Horatio's is my wife's absolute favorite place to eat. She is not adventurous but she adores Lobster and Prime Rib. Saturday night was a our twenty third wedding anniversary and she had two Lobster Tails, a couple of Martini's, a double Kahlua and double Espresso and she was in heaven. Nothing wrong at all. I had the French Onion Soup, Maytag Blue Cheese on Hearts of Romaine, rare Prime Rib and a piece of cheese cake. What is not to like. Everything was perfect. No surprises which is the point. Service was perfect. We were seated as promised and treated very well indeed. You cannot miss here/"

"Service was very slow although the waiter was very friendly. There weren't that many in the dining room. Maybe short on help. The food is same as Skate's or Kincaid, since they are all under same corporate umbrella. I miss individuality they used have. Now, everything is same and no unique experience, and price has gone up considerably for not any better food or choice."

"We have been going to Horatio's for many years as a family. Unfortunately, we felt that the food items seven of us selected were not up to their past standards. And, for the
prices, we think the food should be excellent. One party had a Scotch Old Fashion which was not good and so very small for over $10; the first was not good and he thought it had bourbon instead of Scotch. The best items ordered were the crab/artichoke appetizer, the Maytag blue cheese salads, and the crème brulee. Hot peppers should not ever be put on fettucini unless stated. The 4 who ordered this dish found it to be so
spicy hot that they could not nearly finish it."
