"The decor was really nice and that's the only thing that I liked about this place. The food was just "ok". The drinks...well, they were out of many items (on a Saturday night?!) so it was a little annoying because the server came back a couple times to tell us that they were out of the drink we were ordered and that's on top of what she told us that they were out of from the start. At this price point, I expected this place to be even just above average."

"I visited the Drawing Room back in the fall. I enjoyed the atmosphere but not interested in returning. However, I would recommend the spot just for friends to check it out. I rated the food but we did not eat. However, the system would not allow me to advance without checking something."

"I had a really fun time here with a couple of girlfriends on a Saturday night. We made a reservation for 9:30. We had to wait a few minutes to be seated so I would recommend making a reservation. It was very crowded but not loud, a good level of energy. We didn't order food, just cocktails. We had the Red Bush, Jack Rose and French French 75, all very different from each other, strong and tasted great! Our server was very knowledgeable, we will be back!"

"Overall I thought the restaurant offered a trendy and upscale atmosphere and it is a great place to dress up and go out on the town with your date.... However the portions were very small...and you left feeling hungry. The fact that it is attached to the Back Room is a plus."

"The ambiance is great: dark enough to be intimate, but still see the menu. I was immediately impressed by the the cocktail menu, but then realized that I didn't recognize half of the ingredients. They list (upscale) brands, not types of liquor, so unless you know the brand you have to ask about every drink. So most of my party relied on our waiters suggestions, which weren't quite on point. He also entered one order incorrectly and rather than apologizing and fixing his error, announced that he brought the wrong drink and if she REALLY wanted the other he'd pay for it. Though she didn't demand the correct order, she drank very little, then reordered the first, but he never got the hint, nor deducted the final bill. Subpar for such a place."

"Great food and good service. We sat for about 10-15 minutes before seeing our server so I went to the hostess stand and asked for menus. The manager then brought over complimentary champagne for our wait and apologized. After that, the service was great and the food was very good. I'd definitely recommend the place to friends."

"The food here was surprisingly good (given that most people don't go for the food) but well over to the pricey side of things. If you're hungry, I'd go elsewhere, but If you want one of the best drinks in down this should be high on your list. You walk in and the entire room is centered around the bar, so it must be important. The cocktail list can satisfy everyone in the group, from the painstakingly sweet but delicious Jack Rose to their own twist on the Manhattan (heavy on the bitters if you're a purist, but who's a purist any more?)."

"Came here on separate occasions - once for dinner and once for drinks - both were fantastic! It's great to have an accessible restaurant that caters to both occasions (AND stays open late). Delicious and beautifully presented food. Great waitstaff - brought me a cocktail that perfectly described my interests, ensured we were comfortable, and came around enough just when we needed him. Access to next door venue "The Back Room" is an added bonus."

"Peter was attentive and very proficient at interpreting the special cocktails; matching the offerings with the fancy liqueurs to our personal tastes. The plates were distinctive and delicious. After dining, we were escorted to the Back Room where we were delighted with The Right Now Band. The pairing makes a lovely evening on the town with minimal effort!"

"The Drawing Room is very difficult to find. Look for the Colonial Restaurant (next door) and the valet. There is only a door and a door man who checks your reservation. The service is impeccable, food is outstanding and interesting, and DO NOT MISS the vibrant bar scene on Saturday evening with a band in the back room.
Reservations are necessary. Atmosphere is very cool. Dined here twice, and loved it both times."

"The Drawing Room was awesome. The ambiance was awesome, and it has a really nice "speak-easy" feel. It's easy to go there and stay for hours. Our server was really knowledgable, very helpful. He was really patient in describing all the cocktails, and he was great a providing suggestions based on what flavors we liked or what drinks we had previously. Smart, spirit-forward cocktails. Can't wait to go back!!"

"Very disappointing. Unpleasant from the outset. The room has a strange odor, vaguely of exhaust. When remarked to the host, he was non plussed.
After the waiter said that the bartender would be happy to make any cocktail to order, we asked for a slight modification of their standard Manhattan recipe, to change the proportions of rye to vermouth from their 2 to 1 to our preferred 3 rye to a trace of vermouth. The result - ridiculously - was each glass (we ordered 2 such drinks) only 2/3 full. You got it. The resto must have decided that since rye is more expensive for them than vermouth, we got 2 ounces of rye and the trace of vermouth. That was unique in my experience, literally from NY to Paris to Lisbon."

"Walking through The Drawing Room's incognito doors, I was welcomed by warm wooden structures and great hostesses who kindly took our coats and lead us to our seats. While my boyfriend and I took out seats and began conversing away, our waitress, with great patience, came back again and again asking if we were ready to order. When we finally decided, our courses were not only described to us when they arrived, they were every bit delicious as we envisioned. The best part of our night were our signature drinks we ordered. Him, Oaxacan Old Fashion and mine, a mine, a Jack Rose. Both were fantastically created by the lovely chef mixologist. We are excited to come again soon!"

"My girlfriend and I really enjoyed our night out. We used a grouping and were a little nervous about how it would go over as we have had hit or miss service experiences with package deals. The food but good, service was excellent and drinks delicious. The back room section was fun though I must say the band was pretty hokey. They would have been better without the silly front woman. She made it feel like an 80's wedding band. We felt very attended to by the staff and would probably return again despite the band selection. Great date night!"

"What a great space for a romantic date. Located underneath Le Colonial, the atmosphere is nearly as seductive as the aforementioned, although in a totally different way. We went for Valentine's Day and it was perfect for a romantic evening. The cocktail list is fun and interesting, the chairs are lounge like and super comfy, the food was really good. All in all a great evening. I would highly recommend...even if just for a cocktail."

"Fun venue! Admission to the sub-street level restaurant is through nondescript-looking door via walkie-talkie toting doorman. Decor and lighting can only be described as intimate - upholstered settees (in lieu of chairs) were interesting, if a little short even for the average petite woman. We ordered from the 3-course Restaurant Week menu - food was delicious, innovative, well-seasoned and beautifully presented, although the portions were small. Service was helpful, friendly - server came by at all the right times, but they had a full docket of reservations, and once we ordered food, they moved us along quickly. Would go back and/or take guests for a special evening out."

"We went for restaurant week and it was packed. They were out of the fish option for the main course and didn't offer any alternative fish options, for several of our diners, this was an issue. Considering it was a set menu, they should of offered another fish main course.

The food was mixed. The steak tartar was amazing, but my pork was not good, and there was something seriously wrong with the Black Dog Gelato they served for dessert. People rave about Black Dog Gelato, but this was a whiskey flavor that tasted like someone had mixed in fruity flavors with the whisky. The only taste was sweet, sweet, sweet, without any notes of spice or smoke from the whiskey. Very odd. I thought it could be a personal preference, but everyone agreed."

"This was our second visit and we enjoyed immensely except for one thing. Our only complaint was they have only one bartender, a mixologist. The cocktails made here take a few minutes to make bc she makes them with care & expertise. She was clearly overwhelmed at the start of the night as there were several large groups that arrived at once, but they knew this as reservations are a must. They didnt prepare well. At least our server came to apologize for why we sat there for without our first drink. Remainder of service was better although they seemed short staffed as the place filled. It was reataurant week."

"Delicious gourmet preps of chicken thigh appetizer,duck and baramundi. Unique fun cocktails. Extremely uncomfortable tables and chairs. You can't put your feet together under the table because of its wide circular base. The chairs are too deep to sit back into, and still reach the table, and they have only one armrest for support. Service very slow, but friendly."
