"For starters, the service was excellent. Out glasses never went empty. Waitress was great, kind, and hospitable. Food exquisite. Kitchen prepared for us a desert for our anniversary without us asking and was a delightful way to end the meal."

"Everyone enjoyed their meal. Steaks were cooked perfect and the peppercorn sauce was outstanding. My only issue was the sides. We ordered 5 sides. And 3 of the 5 were barely warm. I wish they came out hot. The service was very good. The table side Bannas Foster was very well prepared. Rather Pricey, but awesome meal. I would certainly go back."

"I wanted to order the Grouper, but unfortunately, they were out, so the server suggested the Sea Bass. This was an excellent replacement and extremely tasty. My husband ordered the two lobster tails and so as not to disappoint, the server went to check on the availablility. She reserved the last two for him and she said since they were small, the kitchen would add another to the order. Much to his surprise, when the order came out, there were four tails, which made for quit a feast. The entire meal was excellent!"

"We've been here several times and it's always a great experience. This time we went for my wife's birthday. I made reservations through Open Table and requested an intimate booth at 7:00 pm on a Saturday evening. We arrived at 6:30 pm and they had everything prepared already and greeted my wife with a Happy Birthday. The service was excellent and friendly and the food is the best around. Of course my recommendation would be the filet mignon but you have to try the lyonnaise potatoes."

"As expected the food was outstanding with the exception of the lobster bisc. Taste was on but the bisc was served luke warm, soup should be served hot. Total experience was excellent from the time we walked in the door until we walked out. Promptly seated (had reservation), beverage service was fast as well as the the food ordering and turn around time. The 10 oz. fillet (med rare) was out of this world good. Very tender and cooked to perfection. I tried the truffle butter topping this time and I would suggest to any steak lover...very good. My wife and I finished the excellent meal with creme brulee and the signature red velvet cream cheese cupcake and coffee."

"When I searched for upscale dining in the Fort Wayne area, Eddie Merlot's topped the list, and our experience was top-notch. I read other reviews where service was listed as "slow," but this is exactly what I want: if I'm spending $150 for a meal for two, I don't want our waiter rushing us out the door. Once our cocktail orders were delivered, we had a solid 15-20 minutes to enjoy them with conversation. Appetizers came next, then dinner…all with enough time between to fully enjoy each course. The seafood was done to perfection: trout and scallops, each delectable. The wine list ranged from enjoyable house wine to high-end bottles, all in a lovely environment. Once you get over the shopping-mall location, you're in for a treat!"

"My husband and I enjoyed our meal very much. I would not change a thing except for the fact that our server made an error on our bill and charged the 2 of us for 5 salads instead of 2. We pointed out the error and he corrected it but our bill was very hard to understand which made it difficult to know if it was correct. We paid with gift cards and had a balance left on the card. We had to ask twice to have the card returned to us"

"I've been here before, but it was a first for my parents. They loved the place. There's lots of options, the food is superb, the Moscato D'asti - I dream about. One of my favorite places to eat and the rooms are wonderful. It's a tiny bit dark overall and when it gets full it can get kind of noisy, but the seating, tables are very comfortable, much beauty to see. And did I mention the food....? You can't go wrong with eating here."

"Eddie Merlot's doesn't normally do buffet type dining, but when they do, it's pretty good. The star of the show was the beef tenderloin which was medium rare and carved to order. Other highlights were the peel & eat shrimp, smoked salmon, and bananas foster. The remainder fair was typical buffet type dishes, done very well, but nothing to write home about. For a similar price Texas de Brazil offers much much more."

"There's not much good food to be had in the Ft. Wayne area, but Eddie Merlot's is a wonderful exception! The food was wonderful (Chateaubriand for two, delicious steamed broccoli and flavorful garlic mashed potatoes). Everything was cooked to perfection. The beef was incredibly tender, the broccoli was fresh and the mashed potatoes were creamy and full of garlic. The only negative was the chairs, which were quite low, putting my shorter wife farther below the table than she'd like to be and uncomfortable for a taller guy like me."

"We had heard that it was pricey, but I didn't think most things were otrageous - other than $10 for steamed broccoli. Our appetizers arrived promptly, but after we had finished we waited at least 20 minutes before our meals arrived, and were never checked on. The place wasn't crowded, just {apparently} understaffed. The facility was nice, but the food presentation was quite uninspired. My wife ordered a filet, and it arrived on a large plain white plate - devoid of anything else. It looked rather helpless and tiny floating on that big empty platter. But it was properly cooked. I ordered the almond-encrusted walleye. It was crunchy, but any almonds must have been pulverized in the batter. And on the dry side. Probably won't return."

"It was a Sunday night and the restaurant was not busy. I had never been there before, but was excited to try it out. We were celebrating my brother's engagement. The view was amazing. The service was the best part: never did a glass empty, food was prepared in a timely fashion, waitress came to the table as soon as the hostess sat us down. The wait staff also took a personal interest in what we were celebrating and was excited for my brother and his fiancee. As a surprise at the end, the staff brought out engagement cupcakes, free of charge. The food was amazing also, and I have had some pretty good steaks and cupcakes before. It was expensive, but you know what you're paying when you walk in. Best classy place in Ft. Wayne!"

"The filet was suburb, my mixed grill was so, so, I won' t order it again. Way too much dressing on the Cesar salad, it was almost soggy. Will I return, absolutely, one bump in the road after enjoying many meals at the restaurant won't keep me from your table. "Easter brunch was extremely busy which caused us to be seated nearly 30 minutes later than reservation. However, once seated, our first trip to this classy steakhouse was wonderful. Buffet was generous and well-maintained. Standouts included beef tenderloin and ham at the carving station, creamed corn and potatoes Lyonnaise. Potatoes were such a big hit at our table that we would consider dining there just for them. Desserts were nice but not outstanding. Food quality exceeded our expectations for a buffet. Wait staff was polite, efficient and attentive. We were surprised soft drinks weren't included in buffet price. Breaking up buffet into sections may have sped diners through more efficiently, but overall a great Easter buffet experience."

"We visited Eddie Merlot's for an Easter Brunch. Although we had a prior reservation, we will waited almost 15 minutes for our table. The restaurant was over-crowded and very loud, which is probably due to the special Easter Brunch for the holiday. While the food was wonderful . . . I won't be returning on a special holiday. I would rather return on a quiet evening when it's not so chaotic."

"We went to dinner for our anniversary. This is definitely not a "romantic" place to have dinner...it was very noisy. After reading several of the recent reviews prior to going, I have to agree with the majority of them. Food was good but not over the top to warrant paying the price. Service was good but again I should not have to ask for a plate to put my lobster shells or a towel/lemon to clean up after eating the lobster. Some tables around us received that w/o having to ask for it! Food was good...but disappointed with overall hipe of high $$$ restaurant!"

"Disappointed. I expected exceptional service, and received mediocre. We did not have plates for the bread; we had to ask for butter and a lobster cracker. I expected the waiter to be more attentive; disappeared for times. The lobster came out just on a plate and i expected it to be already cracked open. The people bringing the food were very nice and attentive. I felt our waiter was arrogant and we did not feel appreciated. The food was very good. The ambiance was ok; most definitely too loud and we were not there on a special holiday. It was a Friday night."
