"Wonderful food: fresh, wholesome and simply but elegantly conceived and prepared under the direction of chef Amanad Freitag. Standaouts were the avocado and hearts of palm salad, the arctic char and addictively good duck fat fries. Wine list was great, and offered some excellent choices at moderate prices. Atmosphere was very romantic, and the place had a friendly neighborhood buzz, populated by enthusiastic foodies. Only drawback was the high noise level. Prices were quite reasonable for food of this calibre. This is definitely a place to which I will return!"
Special Features: fit for foodies, great for outdoor dining, neighborhood gem, notable wine list, romantic, special occasion

"A NYC standard, with upgrades. Great food, great vibe, very downtown feel but with uptown cuisine. Service is excellent, enthusiastic and informed. Lovely experience."

"Enjoyed the feel of the restaurant--cozy, warm lighting, tables set far enough apart to have intimate conversation. Menu was not that inspired and the food was fair, considering the prices. We enjoyed the country salad, topped with perfectly poached egg. However, when it came to our main course, we both ordered the special of the night (on the waiter's recommendation)--Strip Steak. The steaks came, cooked rare, as we requested, but a little fattier than we expected. We also would have appreciated a tip from the waiter that the steaks were so large, we could have shared our main course. Other than that service was friendly and well-timed."

"The food came highly recommended to me... but upon dining at the Harrison, I was disappointed. The Pork Chop was excessively salty, topped with even saltier bacon, and the beans with escarole were bland and just added to the salt predicament. I ordered one glass of syrah, which was nice. The service was very good- hostess was accomodating, as well as our waiter, even the bus boy! The juke box was to my liking (the Beatles, George Harrison, Led Zeppelin, Queen were playing), and it wasn't so loud that it drowned out the conversation, but rather added a fun element to our dinner. We also ordered dessert which I paired with a muscat... it was forgettable. It wasn't too sweet, but it wasn't too flavorable either. I probably won't return."

"We had many good restaurant experiences on our recent trip to New York. The Harrison was by far the best and the one that will stand out in my mind as the best dining experience I have had all year."

"We are from Australia, so our Xmas eve dinner at The Harrison was really Xmas day for us, due to the time zone. The service was impeccable, the food absolutely delicious. We couldn't have had a better experience. Everybody there treated us so well and was of the utmost standard, but I must say that our waiter was exceptional, not only in his attentiveness, the calibre of his judgement, the in depth knowledge of the menu but also by making exactly the right suggestions when we required advice. We will never forget our Xmas there."

"I'm from SF Bay Area and was looking for a restaurant close to the hotel we were staying at in the TriBecca Neighborhood. Since we just had a gorgeous snow storm, it would have to be a short walk, but we wanted something special. I checked Open Table, and after reviewing a few, thought Harrison fit the bill. It was one of the most outstanding evenings EVER! From the greeting at the door, the ambiance, the excellent wait staff and most importantly, to the outstanding food and great wine list, we had one of the best, and most memorable dining experiences ever. We found out that it is the sister restaurant to the Red Cat in SoHo, too! (A friend had recommended that, but it was too far to walk and could not get reservations on Sat) Thnx OT"
