Archeo
Archeo is a contemporary pizza and pasta house located in the Distillery's old carpentry shop. The atmosphere is intimate and the design is beautiful, featuring 150-year-old wood from the distillery in all of the tables and bars. Archeo's cozy patio is one of the best get-away spots in the city. Archeo can accommodate seated events for 100 people, and receptions for up to 200 guests.

"What a delightful first visit. The menu items were well described and often had a creative twist in the preparation. Presentation and taste were exceptional. Not inexpensive but fair value. I loved the artwork that serves as screens. Don't know what the process is called but added a lot of visual interest. Definitely want to go back when we are not rushing to get to a play."

"I enjoyed my dinner with a friend on Fri. evening, April 12th, 2013. The overall price was reasonable but the wine menu should be expanded and it was a little pricey. Atmosphere was nice and rustic, good spacing between the tables so you could have a private conversation. The service was good and professional. Portions are not large so I would recommend you order an appetizer and main course. Dessert was nice but nothing to rave about. I enjoyed the mushroom risotto but have had better at the Royal York Hotel and other downtown Toronto restaurants. I would likely return to this restaurant."

"We had a pasta and a pizza. The pasta was about a 3.5 and the pizza a 3 in quality and taste. We would not recommend the pizza since the crust was hard and tasteless. It is a beautiful space and we did have a lovely waiter with great ambiance in regards to the experience"

"Experience was great! We were the only table in the restaurant so the service was super fast, and our waiter was extremely attentive. Tassio? Or Anastassio i believe was his name.
The food was DELICIOUS! And the ambiance was perfect. I would definitely recommend Archeo to my friends and colleagues and will be back in the near future.

"Decent Italian food in the Distillery District. Steak & frites reportedly "only average" (from my 16-year old connaisseur). Chicken stuffed with spinach & cheese quite tasty, ditto the mushroom risotto. Service was excellent until we ordered dessert and then it was an anxious wait and a quick chow-down as we were going to the theatre. However, the citrus trio was delicious!"

"Though the ambiance was beautiful, the food portions were small. This would be fine if they quality and flavour of the food was amazing but it definitely was not. Bot me and my boyfriend are dairy free. I had the spaghetti and meatballs and he had a pizza with no cheese. Mine had absolutely noooo taste, as if the sauce was watered down to nothing and my boyfriends pizza might as well have been burnt dry toast. They did not have any dairy free options either than just eliminating key ingredients or much knowledge of the menu (otherwise they would have recommended that without cheese the pizza he ordered would be essentially toast since it was bianco style) and even the food that needn't be dairy free was bland and small. Skip."

So much opportunity to provide a memorable experience - interesting and warm location, excellent staff - but McCain pizza from Loblaws is way, way better than the greasy inadequacy we were served. "Unfortunately I was not impressed at all with my eating experience at this restaurant; actually I cannot believe that a restaurant would serve food that is so bland and tasteless. I ordered a simple pizza and I was so turned off by the amount of cheese that they put on it and by how awful in was in taste;I could not even eat one slice. My friend's pizza faired a bit better but not by much.
The only plus that I can give this restaurant is the service that we received. Our waitress showed concern when I told her that I could not eat the pizza, she apologized, offered options and did not charge for the item + brought a complimentary dessert. If it was not for her, the experience would have been below negative. I will never return."

"There wasn't a lot of food selection, I understand regarding the space of the restaurant. The food was not well prepared, my omelette was too salty and the placement of the foods were a bit confusing. There didn't seem to be any 'Wow' factor regarding the cuisine. Nothing really special, the desserts were really disappointing. I expected more from this place, very disappointing. However the ambiance was nice and peaceful. The customer service/front of house staff were really good."

"My boyfriend and I went to Archeo for his birthday and we both fell in love with the restaurant. The service was prompt and attentive. We were seated and our waiter came shortly after with water and to see how we were doing with the menus. We ask suggestions and our waiter was very knowledgable. As soon as he saw out plates empty he was quickly there to remove them to make you feel more comfortable. We've wanted to try this restaurant before but never could since we didn't call ahead to know they had a special event booked. Finally we decided to reserve and we were not disappointed one bit. My boyfriend said that it was his favorite dinner he's had in a very long time. I would definitely recommend this restaurant."

"We took advantage of the Winterlicious deals and booked a lunch for 2 on a Saturday. The atmosphere was good as we walked in. The server seemed frazzled although the restaurant wasn't extremely busy. We didn't get to interact much with him.
We had the mussels as appetizers and the spaghetti and meatballs as entrees. Overall the food was good but the desserts were disappointing.
What's neat about this place is the space itself. The industrial feel of the exposed brick, concrete floors and stained glass makes for interesting conversations.
For the price ($65 for lunch for 2 with drinks), I would return."

"We enjoyed our lunch with the ambience of the old building and high ceiling. The art was beautiful, we were given a flyer on all the history of the buildings before we began our meal and tried to picture these buildings in the 1800's.
We will definitely plan to visit soon again!
