"George's Terrace is a perfect setting for business or pleasure. Food and service is always very good. Scenery is un-parallel. The outdoor atmosphere is relaxing while still very conducive to good conversation. The menu selection is just right as are wine and drink options. Tasty appetizers and the can't miss soup. Only one small issue on this visit; the Tombo came in two thin pieces versus the nice thick steak, done med-rare. Otherwise, a solid outing for our table of 11. The servers took great care of us. Look forward to my next visit to George's!"

"I just love this place! The food is healthy with a wide variety of choices for us who are gluten-free, dairy-free. The service is outstanding, and I always bring my out-of-town guests here for lunch to wow them with the view and great food. Using Open Table to book, it just couldn't be easier, and their valet parking is the bomb. I always feel I am treated as a special guest (among thousands of other fans) and you will be too. There is frankly no other choice in La Jolla that comes close to George's for me. It has been, and remains, my favorite spot to go for a guaranteed great dining experience!"

"The dinner menu is not for those on a budget - that being said, the incredible food was well worth the price, in my opinion. The octopus appetizer was TO DIE FOR. It literally melted in my mouth. Same with the sticky toffee dessert. The view was obviously amazing, service great, and the wine was superb. A thousand thumbs up for one of my favorite restaurants!"

"Initially not impressed as I had made the reservation over a month in advance & had specified in an email that it was a special occasion & we would be very grateful if we could have a view table. When we arrived the hostess took us to a table inland & when I asked if there was nothing available on the waterside especially since we had made the reservation so far in advance she was quite rude & aggressive & we were not happy. It was the last night of our vacation, we were celebrating a 50th birthday and 20 years of friendship so we let it go as we didn't want the table or the hostess to detract from our gratitude of life and friendship. That being said, we had a lovely server and the food was absolutely delicious."

"I went back to George's and La Jolla Cove after several years. What a disappointment! There is a stench over the area which I was told was from the birds. It did not miss George's. I'm a lover of all things nature, especially the sea, but this was like being next to a pig farm. The views are still as beautiful, but the food I'm really sorry to say has become "average." Unless something is done about the smell, I feel sorry for all the restaurant owners in the area. This restaurant use to have five stars ambiance before."

My only offer of improvement was with the dessert, a fruit cobbler. It could have been outstanding with cinnamon and nutmeg in the cobbler batter, it was a bit flat. Should have gone with the chocolate choice :)"

"This is a must do when near LaJolla. We had 7 people in our group and the host and manager to great care of us. We had the best view in the house. The bartenders were great. Came by to tell us they enjoyed our visiting. The concierge said it was on his top 5 in San Deigo area."

"Came with my boyfriend and it was a great experience. The service was consistently pleasant and the food was delicious. I actually liked my boyfriend's plate better...it was slow cooked ribs, the special for the day. I had the gnocchi with scallops...good but not amazing. The cocktails were tasty and the asian chicken wings were sooo yummy...the sauce was perfect. We will be coming back again!"

"We planned a trip to San Diego and after checking Open Table reviews of George's Ocean Terrace we booked our reservation about a month in advance. Wow! We had the very best table on the terrace and were there for a spectacular sunset. The service and food was very good and I would definitely recommend this for a special occasion place. The downstairs is also very nice but the views and ambiance of the terrace made our experience very special on the terrace."

"I love George's Ocean Terrace and choose it for special occasions like Easter. I took a friend whom I know to be difficult to please. She couldn't make up her mind about table seating--she changed 4-5 times. Finally, after choosing one, she asked that the heater be turned on. The manager was so gracious and patient with her explaining that she wouldn't get much heat from it where she was sitting. He brought her two lap blankets. All staff gave their best to make her comfortable without any attitude. I was so grateful! We enjoyed our food, the sights and all the fun of celebrating Easter with everyone else there. I breathed a huge sigh of relief!"

"This is a great place to eat, grab a drink and watch the waves from the panoramic rooftop deck. It should be noted that the restaurant has changed over time from casual to more of L.A. chic. I brought my parents there for lunch on their anniversary and it was a little too loud and a little to L.A. for them. The loud music made it a bit hard to talk. If I were grabbing dinner with my wife or friends then this place is a no brainer. However, I won't take my parents there again. They do have a good mix of fruity cocktails for the wife and local microbrews for the beer lovers."
