"The Ritz used to have a spectacular restaurant over looking the ocean called the Banyan Tree. Sadly they closed it when they opened the Terrace. Whomever made this decision should find a new job as this room, menu, service and view have nothing going for it. I would only eat here if I was a guest and had no intention of getting in my car. We should have had a clue when the bride and her groom waiting out front said that although they were married at the Ritz her reception was elsewhere.
A sad waste of a gorgeous space and irreparable damage to a world class brand."

"The restaurant is fairly new but the food is exquisite. The chef uses very seasonal and local products and really knows how to pair flavors. The drink menu is very elaborate with unique mixed drinks available. I would definitely recommend this restaurant to anyone who enjoys fresh and local ingredients. The prices are very reasonable too."

"Dinner at The Terrace was fine, but just fine. For a restaurant at a Ritz-Carlton hotel I expected a lot more, and was let down. The service was perfect as our server was very attentive, friendly, and knowledgeable. The food was good, but not great. The biggest problem I had with the restaurant was the ambiance. I felt as if I was dining in a convention hall. This place is great for a breakfast buffet, but not laid out to be the fine dining restaurant inside a Ritz. The space is just way too expansive and empty to provide a desirable dining experience and the materials in the room (eg. the flooring) are appropriate for a more casual dining experience. I would have felt very different if The Terrace was located in the old Banyan Tree space."

"We ate here previously and thought we were in a different restaurant entirely this time. Service staff were poorly trained, and the food was completely unremarkable for a Ritz Carlton. Ahi sashimi were think chunks rather than thinly sliced and well presented. Kampachi (yellow fin tuna) was in a bland broth and accompaniments that accentuated rather than helped moderate the oily flavor of the fish. Why they had it on the menu in the first place is beyond me. The first two main course wine selections were unavailable, and the third was only available as a single bottle, which in retrospect was a blessing as it meant we saved money and did not have to prolong our experience."

"This has been one of our favorites in Maui. The wine paring dinners are just a delight and being able to modify choices from the set menu is just perfect. We've learned a lot about wine over the course of our visits to this great restaurant.
It is sad that the Ritz Carlton has decided to close the facility at the end of March, and look for an outside provider. At the same time making a more casual dining option in the main building."

"The restaurant was not easily accessible for a handicapped individual. We were dining on a windy and rainy evening and the draft and chill inside the restaurant was unpleasant. When the weather is warm, the open air would be nice; just not on the evening we were there. The food was good and beautifully presented."
