"I had friends in from out of town who hadn't had good luck with meals here. I recommended Scoozi and was able to get a reservation with little notice. Our server was wonderful, giving us lots of good recommendations (and a complementary dessert). My only complaint is that I spent more than I intended."

"Scoozi has a great ambience but food quality has deteriorated since my last visit. The Arrabiata pasta was so hot my British Friend could not finish. The shrimp pasta included three small shrimp. The pizza's were thin and dry with extremely small portions of toppings. We asked to share three appetizers for the group of six. We got three Bruscettas, a small dish of calamari and a small portion of marinated beets. A pleasant surprise was the salmon dish my wife had...it was outstanding. The salads are still consistently good. The bill was $ 300 00 and for that amount per person, the quality level was low.
I still love the place for its decor and service but somewhere along the line, the kitchen crew went astray."

"Scoozi never disappoints. Their food is sooo good, it reminds me of being in Tuscany - not something I can say very often! It is part of Lettuce Entertain You - but don't misunderstand, it is NOT chain italian food. Most of their pasta is homemade and their Tiramisu is to die for. Simply some of the best Italian in Chicago - if not THE best."

"During our meal we had two minor problems, initially the wait staff was very slow to come to the table, further, we had to send back an appetizer due to a large amount of salt. Clair, one of the managers, came to our table following the meal and was wonderful in resolving all our issues, I would return sooner because of her efforts."

"Had not been to Scoozi in awhile and was pleasantly surprised by the food and the service. Both were exemplory. The restauarnt looked beautiful and had a good vibe. Some in our group requested minor variations to their entrees which was met with complete acceptance by our server. Menu was very inetersting and 1/2 pasta portions were available which allowed some to try multiple pasta selections. Food was delicious."

"We went for a mid-week, early dinner and the cavernous dining room had only a few tables filled. The outdoor area was full and it was a pleasant night. Someone, however, had requested that the music be turned up to "liven things up a bit." We asked twice, both times politely, to have the music turned down so that we could have a conversation without having to shout at one another and each time, if it was turned down, it was not noticeable. Our waitress tried. Someone else was not cooperating. The food was fine -- nothing special. We both had pasta -- properly cooked and well-presented. But the effort to enjoy a conversation invaded the pleasure of the meal. I'm not sure I would repeat this."

"We had a reservation at 7:15 on a Friday and were seated on time. The restraurant is very large but the sound level was not bad. We asked our waitress for some food recommendations and she was very helpful. In particular she recommended the Kale Salad. I couldn't believe it but my sister-in-law who ate it thought it was excellent. I hadn't been to Scoozi for many years but I found the food and service to be very good. Additionally, we had the restaurant park our car and found that on Friday nights if you spend at least $25 in the restaurant and show the valet your receipt, the parking is free."

"I only had the veal meatballs and kale salad (was on a strict diet at the time). Both were delicious! The veal meatballs were a little overcooked but still very tasty. They came with a chunky marinara sauce that had a little spice to it which I liked. The kale salad surprised me, it was excellent! The honey ricotta cheese really made it though. Yummy!"

"Have gone here before. Service always has been very good, except this past Saturday, April 4th. Waitress was indifferent at best. Had to ask several times for her to take our order and replenish bread tray. She seemed to not be interested in being a waitress, more like a chore....."

"The food was very good. We all enjoyed it. Ambiance was great as the building is old and was preserved. My only complaint was the cocktails. I tried 2 types before switching to wine - that is something I never do. I just didn't like either cocktail. However the wine was really good!"

"Food was, as is a LEYE usual, great, some of the best salmon I have had. Our server was, unfortunately, dissappointing and showed no signs of regret or apologies for basically taking our order and forgetting us, especially when we had an issue w/one of the items. The manager took action and we appreciated it."

"We always end up at Scoozi. Their bread is the best, ever. We could eat an entire loaf. Maybe we did. Got there an hour early and asked to be seated when possible. We had already opted for the pub tables near the bar when our name was called at 6:58. I thought that was a bit weak, but we got the best waiter in the place. This guy juggled a bunch of tables but he was on. Shrimp/scallop risotto was spot-on and the arrabiata good as ever (do yourself a favor and go mozzarella instead of the goat cheese). Plus I could see the NCAA tournament on the bar TV!"

"The experience that we had was great. Highly recommend to everyone. Our server was very informative and always available. The manager John was very friendly and made you feel at home. Our dinner was wonderful but the chocolate cake "to die for" YUM!"

"First time here and we will definitely return. The name Scoozi, is a little corny so we had avoided it expecting a touristy Epcot Italian experience. What we found instead was a unique and beautiful interior with great food and excellent service. Our waiter, Patrick, was the best."

"The food was overall good but hard to really enjoy with all the toddlers running around. We literally had a toddler twirling ballerina style for minutes next to our table. I guess a better place for families with little ones that aren't behaved well. Food was average. Overall okay experience. But. I don't believe we will make time to go back."

"It has been quite a while since I've been to Scoozi! and I now don't know why its taken me so long to come back, as we had a simply outstanding meal and a fantastic time! The room is lovely, love the openness and the energy....yet still very cozy. Everything we ordered was impeccable! We loved our appetizers. The beets were SO yummy, grilled calamari perhaps the best I have ever had!, the lobster pizza was out of this world! Chopped chicken salad was superb! But oh my...the braised short rib was exceptional! I have a few favorite restaurants that serve braised short rib, and thought I had already found the best...until I ate at Scoozi! Their braised short rib is now my official favorite and #1 in my book! LOVE Scoozi!"

"Our server seemed flustered and overworked, clearly more concerned with tables with families. We never received our salad as ordered or our cappuccino. I didn't realize that those items were still on my bill until well after I paid and had left. We had to hurry to leave because we were heading to a Blackhawk game, and it took over 15 minutes to get the bill. We made him aware that we were on a time schedule, however that didn't appear to be of a concern to him. We usually have great meals and service at Scoozi, this was very disappointing."

"I consider this one of my best finds during my trip. With the first bite of food, my boyfriend and I fell in love with the place. The food was full of flavor and fantastic. The restaurant has a large, open design and is very nice. I was surprised to find it was moderatly priced. It's great for a couple on a special night out, large groups, families, or casual dining. The waitstaff was attentive but but not overly bothersome. The only negative I found was that the place was rather loud. I highly recommend this place and I will definitely be going back when I return to Chicago."

"Terrific place for our group of six. However, two of our guests weren't too crazy about their food. And we were just okay with it.
