Celebrating her 18th year in Cold Spring Harbor, Gail Grasso and Exec. Chef Tony Canales will lead you in to yet another year of phenomenal food, jazz and just an overall feeling of “WOW”. Deemed “restless” in the past by Newsday, Gail has once again ventured into changing the décor of the restaurant. The addition of a dance floor in the jazz room gives Grasso’s, now more than ever, that real Manhattan feel. The food and service is incredible and if you’ve never been there before you will leave feeling as though you’ve been coming here forever. Grasso’s restaurant is a neighborhood gathering place where you almost always stand the chance of running into someone you know. Whether you’re a local or not, when you dine at Grasso’s you truly feel as though you have walked into Gail’s home. It’s been called the “Cheers” of Cold Spring Harbor. Grasso’s also offers a bar menu Sun-Fri evenings and an Al la Carte Sunday Jazz Brunch. Menus, Event and Music schedules are available on the website.

"We went here for restaurant week and the food was good but the portions were small. We ordered the clams for an appetizer and got 4 clams. I ordered the skirt steak along with my husband and asked for vegetables instead of the potatoe which they accomodated but they forgot to give me the chiruzo sausage that my husband got. We asked why he got one and I did not. They appologized and mine came out 10 minutes later. They tried to take the bread away but we asked them if we could keep it. The food here is tasty. The atmostphere is great with music playing with great jazz. Not sure if I would come here if it was not restaurant week due to the small portions and high price tag but it was a nice night out. Loved the bartenders."

"We had not been to Grasso's in a while. We live in the area and just kept going to a few favorite restaraunts. I am very glad we went to Grasso's. The food was excellent and the music absolutely lovely and not too loud (although we requested to be in the room adjacent to the group--I am sensitive to loud sounds). The wait service was very attentive and timely. The owner is very friendly and apologized for the wait as it was restaurant week. The wait was worth it as we thoroughly enjoyed our meal and the ambience. We will be back again soon."

"Everything we tried was good the bananas foster was excellent, the artichokes and the cram for an appetizer were excellent. The live music was a very nice compliment to the energy of the place and made dinner very enjoyable. This was our first time coming here and we most definitely will come back to try some different items off the menu. The only negative was even with a reservation we waited about 45 minutes. But the staff at the restaurant was very curious."

"I'm so excited to finally find a restaurant in Long Island where I'm not constantly reminded of Long Island, i.e. Billy Joel songs or menu items from 30 years ago. Fabulous place! Nice pours at the bar, friendly, best whole Branzino fish served tableside, manager/owner? visited the tables, and our tiramisu was on the house because we were celebrating our wedding anniversary. Lovely experience! Live jazz music."

"This was a delightful experience. We had reservations for 7:00 and were taken right away, the service was attentive without being cloying, the food was delicious and it was a wonderful night...they don't rush you...which is a good thing...as this is a little pricey and I wanted to enjoy my dining experience without being rushed. "This was the first time dining here and the hostess was extremely accommodating. The food overall was decent. I had a seafood risotto that was a bit soupy and somewhat lacking on the risotto. The waiters were at times confusing as there were a few too many running around. Overall a nice dining experience. The crowd was a bit stuffy for my taste, but should be expected given the restaurant's location."

"We went here with friends for my husbands birthday. The food was great. There were lots of choices for both of us(he is a vegetarian and I am gluten free.) "Very disappointed that we didn't get a chance to see Tito Batista and his son sing. Unbeknownst to me, the dining room was split-level, hence, we didn't see him at all. Just heard his band and voice which wasn't appealing to me. Upon reservations, I should have been told that it's not a big room, just two small rooms divided."

"I went to Grassos with my boyfriend for brunch on Valentines weekend. It is such a romantic spot. The jazz band was excellent, the good was amazing, the service outstanding and the room was romantic and cozie. We will definitely return. What a great find. "a few days after Valentines Day & they handled the crowd very well. Seated immediately. Live music set the romantic mood. lthe potato gnocchi, was very light & sautéed with prosciutto to a light golden brown. grilled beet salad was a mix of cheese and other greens. Not a fan of beets BUT it was very tasty. waitress recommended short ribs for entree & they did not disappoint. They were so tender, it melted in your mouth & the accompanying sauce would make your shoes palatable. It was very very good. My only concern was service. Staff dressed alike and had difficulty determining who was who. Our waitress was fair and but was often MIA.Staff definitely played to regulars. Overall experience was very good & look forward to returning."

"We spent Valentine's Day and enjoyed the food and the wonderful music. Frank on the piano added to the lovely evening. We enjoyed the butternut squash/apple soup and we both had fish. I had their seafood meadly and my husband had the swordfish. Both dishes were very good. The service was very good especially it being a holiday. Would go back again at any time."

"Went on Valentines. Expected things to be not great considering the rush of people hitting the restaurants. Very crowded but everything was terrific. Great touch was the jazz duo. Service great. Wait person was funny, professional and attentive."

"Grasso's continues to be our all time favorite restaurant on Long Island. We've celebrated many evenings at Grassos, including 8 Valentines Day dinners there and have never been disappointed. The food always amazes us, desserts are, well, dangerously good. We love this place. If you've not been here, you need to come out for night and visit Gail and her amazing team. You will not be disappointed."

"Had a lovely Valentine's dinner. We had 5:30 reservations and it seemed the restaurant was still putting the finishing touches on the decor for the night and getting the staff ready. No one gave us a menu when we sat and it took a few minutes before our waiter came to ask for a drink order. However, once settled in, all went well. We shared a very nice mozzarella and roasted pepper appetizer. It was not large, but more would have spoiled our appetite. Our dinners were delicious and portioned so that they were satisfying, but left enough room for dessert. Definitely not enough for a to-go bag-the way there usually is when I order pasta. That is fine, and not really a complaint, just a note for those who like big portions."
