Redwater Rustic Grille comes to a convenient downtown location at Bow Valley Square. Redwater Rustic Grille’s market driven menu is a fresh interpretation of contemporary West Coast Cuisine with signature dishes and innovative creations. "This place is just OK. It was very noisey and the menu is over priced ($40 for two salads and a coffee). However, the service was extremely fast. If you make reservations ahead, this place is perfect for people who only have an hour lunch."

"I use this restaurant on a semi regular basis. it is very convenient and is usally a mid point between my clients and my office. Food is always exceptional and staff very accomodating and friendly. Will cotinue to frequent this establishment."

"I was very disappointed with the food and the service. Iv heard great things about red water but our experience was horrible.
The waitress never checked on us, didn't ask if we wanted more to drink & and we did considering all of our food seemed to be socked in salt. Very thing was very very salty. We arrived at 730 And didn't see our food until 845 and the restaurant wasn't busy. She just didn't seem to care about us or giving good service at all. I work in the industry and I was just embarrassed for her and the restaurant.
Will probably not ever go back unfortunately, just really bad."

"The lobster wonton tacos were to die for; however the ancho bbq chicken flatbread was not. It was dry and virtually flavorless. On a previous occasion, I had the prosciutto and calabrese flatbread and would definitely get that one again. A much more flavorful choice. My lunchmates had the smoked brisket reuben sandwich and the smoked turkey sandwich, both of which were very good."

"In the past 2 months I've been to this location 5 times. Every time we order lunch there's always a huge delay. If we just order appetizers for lunch then there no problem whatsoever. Since I only have an 1 hour, it becomes an issue ordering an actually lunch. It's a disappointment since I've always heard such great things about this location. This Friday we waiting over 35 minutes for our lunch and my steak was not cooked as requested. However, the waitress and manager dealt with this issue promptly and understood our concerns. I appreciated that. Just wish it didn't happen every time we have lunch there... But if you have time to wait then it's worth it as the service is great!"

"i find the qualify of food is disapointing. We had the steak sandwich and it had a line of grissle down the middle that made it tough to cut and eat. The Squash soup was tasty but not hot when served. During a business lunch, you don't want to compalin to the server. Other experience have left me less than impressed as well. i think I will take my client's elswhere in the future."

"We had a fantastic lunch and the little extra touches to recognize Administrative Professional's Day were appreciated by all. We had an error with one of the orders which was quickly and appropriately rectified with a sincere apology (no lame excuses) from the server. Our server was friendly and entertaining without being interruptive to our meal. Food tasted very good and was good value for the price. Great overall experience, we'll be back!"

"I have been a fan of Redwater Grille for years but the experience at this location did not live up to my expectations. I was entertaining corporate out of town guests and was a bit embarassed. One guest ordered the Pork Chop,medium, but it came rare. He was too polite to send it back. The mashed potatoes were dry and almost seemed "re-heated". The waitress was a bit "careless" and seemed to be in a hurry to get us out of there. Howeger, the ambiance was good and we were seated at a table near the back where it was quieter. I will likely not visit this location again. The Aspen location is far better."

-My friend was given the old menu and so what she wanted was not available. Nor was her second choice

-The waiter did not know the specials, and had lost his paper with them, and had to come back to tell us them
-Our dinner took 45 minutes to get to us
-The food, when it came, was nothing special
-The place was virtually empty, but we were seated right next to an extremely loud man who made it difficult for us to have our own conversation.

"The food on Friday was disappointing. The feature dish was an 8oz prime rib. Half of it was fat. I ordered the soup and sandwich combo. Although both tasty,the soup was cool and the 1/2 sandwich very small. For dessert we ordered the Rocky Mountain Sundae. We requested the brownie be warmed. It was barely warmed when we got it. The espresso machine was shut down at this location so lattes etc.. were not available. The espresso machine seems to be shut down quite often at this location.
Although we frequent this restaurant regularly, this visit left us very disappointed."

"My first impression when I entered the restaurant was that I had mistakenly gone into a discotheque: the music was VERY loud. Luckily, the hostess showed me to the table in an area of the restaurant where the volume of the music was a little less aggressive. My friends then showed up and we had a good time. The service was excellent, the food tasted great and everything was served at the right temperature and with attractive presentation. The booth where we were sitting was comfortable and there was enough room so that we did not feel cramped on our seats. Of course the noise level increased as everyone in the restaurant competed with the music to be understood: they just like us were there for conversation not dancing."

"Meal was 2 salads with shrimp and tuna. I had water, my guest had soda and lime. Topped off with two decaf coffees. We were seated in the middle of the room. The bill with tip was $72.00. What? I made a reservation and couldn't go until 1:15. When I got there there was no one on the front desk to greet us. We had to wait around in a line-up and then once seated there were plenty of tables.
The expense was outrageous as we were charged for every little add on like the tuna and shrimp for our salad. Unbelievable."

"We had 5 in our party. The good thing was that it was a place where we could talk and visit without having to shout over music or strain our ears to hear. Dinner was served at the same time as the soup and salad course. The salads should have come first to allow us to finish before the entrees were served. My entree was ok but had a bit too much sauce on it (bn squash ravioli with wild mushroom sauce), but 2 people in our party ordered flatiron steak, which was not flatiron steak but a loin cut to look like flatiron. One was dry and overdone. And one was ordered rare, and it was RARE. Hardly cooked. We sent it back. The replacement wasn't delivered until the rest of us were finished with our meals. Maybe it was a bad night for the kitchen?"

"Our server was very good - lots of smiles & silly jokes to brighten a Monday and cute as a button! The food was served in a reasonably timely manner, but I was left a bit let down by my sesame ahi tuna salad as the lettuces were rather limp. I was with work associates, so I ate it without saying anything though I should have. One of our group ordered the steak sandwich with sweet potato fries and was very satisfied with it and the other ordered a flatbread special and thought it was a bit flavorless unless a bite of it happened to have some of the sauce on it, then she said it was very tasty.
Our server offered up her "famous" decaffeinated cappucinos which we could hardly pass up and they were very good! She was a little peach!"

"The restaurant is in the building which is probably the biggest draw - close and don't have to go outside. Service at lunch is always a challenge - it took a good 15 minutes to actually pay the bill after I put the credit card on the table. Food is adequate - portions are good - quality varies from day to day. Like so many places in Calgary, the wine prices are way too high. A glass of wine is priced at the same level as a full bottle in most retail outlets."

"Went for lunch with a friend. Both ordered the Sesame Ahi Tuna Salad. Agreed the salad was tasteless. Consisted of tired lettuce in too much of an oily dressing with little flavour. Was suppose to contain avocado and mango. No avocado to be seen and after much searching found four pieces of mango, about the size of a dime and very firm. Tuna on the side was fine. Overall was a disappointment. Service was also disappointing. Took over an hour and a half for just two salads, seems unacceptable for a downtown restaurant catering to the lunch crowd."

"We love coming to Red Water for a special occasion or just a nice dinner. The service is always exceptional and the food is above average. Our experience this time was a bit different in regards to the food - I ordered the ahi tuna salad and the portion seemed extra small, I requested to add tomatoes to my salad and when my meal arrived there were no more than 3 grape tomatoes. My server asked my how it was and I mentioned the 'tomatoes' she went to the kitchen brought me out a plate of tomatoes (a bit excessive) and we were dinged $3 on the bill for (open food). Also, our buns for the balsamic dip were extra hard. Is there anyway you could bring back the fabulous whipped butter? That's where it's at."

"The food was very good, we had the beet salad which could have been a main course item it was so filling and delicious. The lime chicken tacos were very good too. My tenderlon was done to perfection and my friend had tuna whch was loveley and pink on the inside and nicely grilled on the outide...the way it should be. Our waitress was excellent, a young Australian who made us feel welcome and was very helpful. Everything was not however perfect.The greeting at the entrance was unimpressive.While our waitress was excellent, the young lady who took us to our seats was not friendly. She was at the bar when we came in, made eye contact and tuned her back. It was 5 minutes before some of the other wait staff told to take us to our seats."

"Staff was very attentive, food was served in good time, had great eye appeal, tasted fantastic. The only down was the volume - I was catching up with a friend and had to continually say "pardon me" - a little sound muffling would go a long way! Way to loud to visit with anyone."

"Musoc is WAY too loud for what is supposed to be a place for business lunches.
Service was slow - and then we waited FOREVER for the check - all the while, other servers walked past us without making eye contact.
It was late (because we were were waiting so long and because we had a fairly late reservation), and 3 or 4 servers congregated at a table near us to talk noisily and wrap silverware. One walked past our table with an armful of silverware, dropped a fork (which clanged noisily to the floor), kept going and never came back for the fork - which stayed on the floor until after we left. Not impressed!"

"I have been to Red Water a number of times and have found the food to be consistently good. We had a late lunch at 1:00 pm so the restaurant was less busy and less noisy than usual. Our service started out pretty good but after our appetizer arrived our server was virtually absent and we had to track down a spoon and then waited for refills on our drinks, which never came. Despite the poor service this time we will be back."
