"The price was OK for a Mother's Day Buffet. The buffet was scheduled from 11AM to 7PM and we arrived in at 5PM. The salad buffet was great and had many fresh delicous items. However, the entree buffet line suffered from many very over-tired items. The broccoli looked as if it had been there since the buffet started. The bread was stale and hard. There was no bacon in the bacon/sausage bin. After 6PM, we observed the staff renew some of the buffet items. Dessert serlection was great, but when I went back to the peach cobbler, it had been removed (it was a featured item)."

"Wonderful service! We had a group of 11 with a 5 year old in a full leg cast! No problem! The food for brunch was delicious, varied and well presented. We loved the pate, sea bass and the unusual salads. There was also a table just for kids. The serving area was roomy and provided plenty of room for all diners. We will be back!"

"Having had a very nice experience last year we returned for a birthday celebration with high expectations. The waiter was rude and not helpful with menu or wine selection. one of our party was celebrating a birthday which was indicated on our reservation --before our plates were cleared he brought out a dessert and plopped it on the table never asking whose birthday it was or offering any good wishes. The. Crab,pesto,mango sandwich was awful!!! Definitely won't go back which is too bad since the setting is beautiful."

"I had heard that this was a top-notch restaurant w/ a beautiful view of the ocean. The view was great, but as a restaurant it was a total failure. It was as though it was a brand new facility on it's opening day of service. Several items were delivered to our table that were not ours and one drink item I ordered was delivered to another table. The wait for our entrees was extremely long and the soup arrived cold and the fish entree I ordered was barely warm. The waitress took the soup back and warmed it, but upon its second arrival, it was found to be inedible. The waitress apologized profusely for the poor food service and did not charge us for our entrees. I will not return to this facility, no matter what the view."

"Compared to the excellent dinner at this place, the food offerings at lunch are very uninspiring and unattractive. I organized a lunch for 4 friends and it was an embarrassing experience for me. Some of my friends could not even finish their lunch because it was so bad. Don't go there for lunch unless you are desperate."

"View is beautiful, food is quite good and fairly priced, and menu interesting. But the wait between courses was excruciating and inexcusable, almost 40 minutes. The dining room was not that busy, and the waiter was attentive and concerned, so something must be wrong in the kitchen. The manager finally noticed the problem, topped off the wine glass, and moved the plates to the table. That wasn't enough to rescue the evening; we will not go back. Too bad, since we had been hopeful."

"We had reservations for 1:30pm on Easter Sunday. We arrived at 1:25 and were promptly seated at a table with a gorgeous view of the Pacific Ocean. A server was there immediately to explain the brunch and take our drink orders. She returned occasionally to see if we needed anything and was very prompt. I've lived in S.D. all my life (54yrs!) and had never been here before. We will definitely be returning!"

"Had a 6pm reservation mid-week, so it was not busy. Service was very attentive and accommodating to special requests (switching one side for another, etc.). One of the few places (the other of note is the Marine Room) that is on the beach. More casual but equally expensive. Validated parking in the hotel is a plus. The bar looked really nice facing the beach, so it would be a nice alternative."

"We occasionally dine here cause it's close by. The food has really improved over the last couple of years. We were surprised at how busy they were on the Friday night we were there. This is not the highest end place, but the wait staff is friendly and the food is pretty good and the view of the water is great (at night they light the beach & waves from their roof). We highly recommend it for a casual date night or lunch."

"What a fantastic location with a dynamic ocean view. We were quite surprised there was not a crowd here when we arrive, there were only 4 tables occupied, quite unlike the reviews i read prior to making my our reservation. Our waitress was very knowledeable of the menu and offer some good advice and some great solutions to for item substitutions. The presentation of the food was magnificent and both our meals were exceptional. When eating out, I "never" eat everything on my plate; today I did! We are looking forward to our next visit :-)"

"Overall a great dining experience. I have rather high standards when it comes to dining, so service was a bit lack luster. Nothing horrible, but not exactly the most hospitable or charming waitress. Mediocre at best.
Food was quite good. I got the Waldorf Salad with Poached Chicken and my date got the avocado turkey club. The desserts presentation was off though. Messy plating. But still good nonetheless. We got the cranberry upside down cake with orange I believe."

"Wonderful location and view with very disappointing food. My cauliflower soup tasted watery and needed more flavor. The fish stew had a generous amount of seafood, but the broth had a nasty bitter aftertaste as though it had been burned. I probably wouldn't even be writing this review if the dessert hadn't been so awful...a delicious sounding caramel bread pudding arrived in two misshapen cold lumps on a plate...zero presentation and absolutely unappealing. I didn't eat it. This stunning location is absolutely wasted on food like this. We will not be back."

"Fantastic view. The food was quite good as well- interesting menu and lot's of options. Wine list wasn't remarkable but adequate. The server and bar tender had a miscommunication about the drink one person in our group ordered. It was quickly resolved and comp'ed. The service was quite good for our party of ten while not rushing us nor over bearing. The decor is a bit simple but the view is fantastic. Unlike other venues, there are lights outside so you can see the water once the sun goes down. I would definitely return when back in the area. More reasonable prices than other options. A good value for the money!"

"The food was incredible. Went for V-Day and arrived about 10 mins before our reservation. Was offered a window table if we waited and less than 10 minutes later we got our seat overlooking La Jolla Shores. Had a four course dinner with Shrimp, then soup, then seared Ahi, and a sampler kind of dessert. The price was a lot but hey, you get what you pay for. Great place for a special night out with a special someone."
