Legal Sea Foods - Burlington Mall
The signature dish at Legal Sea Foods – really fresh fish.
All roads lead to Legal Sea Foods. In this case, we are located near four main highways (Routes 128, 95, 93 and 3) on the first level of the Burlington Mall. Make the most of our convenient restaurant location - come for the seafood and stay to shop. Our entrance-way is marked by a water wall.
With over 40 varieties of fresh fish and shellfish available throughout the year as well as an award-winning wine list, there’s no doubt why legions of fans have fallen hook, line and sinker.
We’ve received a boatload of accolades including “Most Popular Boston Restaurant” (Zagat, 2011/2012), “Best Seafood Restaurant” (Improper Bostonian, 2010), “Best Chowder” (Boston Magazine, 2010), “Best Seafood Restaurant” (Boston Phoenix, 2009) and the honor of serving our legendary New England Clam Chowder at every presidential inauguration since 1981.

"My husband & I made an early dinner reservation. We bonded w/ our waiter, Aaron D, before the dinner rush came. Very professional, attentive, & super friendly service. We started by sharing a bowl of steamers w/ butta dip. It was so delicious! Just the right size, sweet, & tender. We both ordered wood grilled fish. They ran out of his favorite, Arctic char, but he enjoyed his 2nd choice salmon. I savored my rainbow trout...it was grilled to perfection. Ate only 1/2, saving room for dessert, of course. We ordered a slice of chocolate layered cake to share & was pleasantly surprised when it came out in 2 little plates. We also had a bottle of really great Cabernet from Chile. This was simply a satisfying dinner! Thanks so much!!"

"With three Gluten free kids, it is nice to have a menu they can choose from. The popcorn shrimp was fabulous, something they just cannot get everywhere else. The "lite" and "Gluten free" clam chowder, though tasty, is lite because it is not a cream sauce... so make sure you check what you are ordering but everything was great. My kids loved it, and I was there with kids from 11 down to 5. Kids menu and crayons and kids cups as well. Thanks for providing another option for our dining out!"

"Well worth the trip. Been going to the restaurant in Peabody, but prefer Burington. Ate in semi-private room, great for a birthday celebration. Food was hot on time and very good. We ordered a special chocolate surprise to finish off the night."

"I was excited to see that Legals was open for a Mother's Day brunch and could accommodate a large party. I booked through Open Table and then called the restaurant to confirm that they would be offering a brunch menu. (No one wants all seafood at 10:15.) When we arrived as one of the early parties, they didn't even have the brunch menus printed. When I took a look, there were VERY limited options. The kids in our group had no brunch options. They ordered off the regular menu. Did I mention that it was 10:15?
My omelet with lobster was great but my guests didn't have much to choose from.
To top that off, the server didn't know that we were a large party and initially only took orders from half. Service throughout was poor."

"We went on Mother's Day. It was packed, of course. Even though I had made a reservation well in advance for 7 people, we had to wait at least 15 minutes for the table and the receptionist was snippy with me when I went to ask how much longer the wait was. Aside from that, we love it there. Once seated, we did have excellent service. Food was great as usual. Kids menu very healthy serving both fruit and vegetable with the entree."

"Seafood is excellent - we had the shellfish, seafood casserole and mixed seafood grill and mussels in sauce as an appetizer Grilled tuna and salmon were a little dry. It might be a good idea to specify medium rare. Everything was delicious, including the sides. Good wine list. On a busy Mother's Day afternoon the wait staff was friendly and efficient, wishing all the Moms a happy mother's day. Although it was a bit hectic due to the special occasion, the noise level in the booths was low - we still had a sense of privacy because of the well-thought out dining layout and good sound proofing. We had a tasty, relaxing and enjoyable family dining experience."

"Sat at the bar for a late lunch. Even though we were at the bar, we had the same great service as if we had been at a table. And the bartender was fun to talk with. We enjoyed the attention and the food. Delicious tuna. Fixed to perfection! Great experience - as always. Legals is consistently great. "Came here with my friend Katie on Saturday since we hadn't been here before and she is visiting from Utah so I wanted to show her seafood. It was great! Our server (Kevin I think... tall skinny guy.) was really helpful with the menu since we didn't really know what we wanted, and his white wine suggestion with the oysters was great. Everything was prompt, and I liked the little touches in the service and the overall friendliness of the staff. I got the crab cakes and LOVED them, and my friend liked her lobster roll. The place was overall pretty noisy though especially for an afternoon, but I guess that's not the restaurant's fault. We'll definitely come back to try out more of the wine list and hopefully we can request the same server."

"The clam chowder is the best! We ordered the wood grilled sword fish and it was outstanding. Decided also to share a fisherman's platter and was a bit dissapointed, it seemed like old frying oil was used."

"My husband and I dined at this location recently for the first time and it lived up to the quality dining experience we've come to expect and love from LSF. Our wait was surprisingly short for what seemed like a busy night. The service was top-notch. Our waiter Kyle was very charming and professional, offering terrific suggestions of his favorite menu items and great wines to compliment them. Being long time patrons of Legals, it was nice to deviate from our usual menu choices and try something new.
A manager stopped by our table and offered a small appetizer before the meal which was nice. The noise level was a bit loud as others have mentioned, which is common with busy restaurants. Overall a great time and we hope to return soon!"

"Service was slow though it was not crowded and plenty of staff working. My companion ordered ice cream for dessert and I ordered the Chocolate Mousse Parfait (Gluten-free). My friend is on a Gluten-free diet but I'm not. He received his ice cream right away but my parfait was not delivered. We flagged down the waitress who apologized and said she would get my dessert right away but by that time my friend had finished his ice cream and coffee. I said "Don't bother. Bring the check." My question is why didn't the person who served the ice cream not bring my parfait (which was gluten-free) at the same time? Why did the waitress bring coffee for both of us even though I did not order any?"
