"This was nothing complicated which is why it was good.
Good service, good food. Oysters were yummy as was the clam chowder and mains. It's a chain but at least it's consistent!!
Only thing is that some of the tables are super close together...might share a conversation with your neighbours depending on where you are sitting."

"My mother and I went to Legals on Mother's Day. The noise level was to be expected and it was a little busy. Our server was okay. She was running back and forth, seemed a bit disorganized and, while I understand it was busy, we did not feel that she was our waitress but a chicken running around with her head cut off. She did redeem herself a little with the entree and told the staff to divide our order into two meals without us having to ask. We took the dessert to go and the chef has changed for the Boston Creme Pie. It just doesn't taste the same - it's not as good. Overall though, my mother had a wonderful experience and we went for her, so that's what counts."

"Booked this place because it was the only place that could accommodate 16 people for a graduation party. The seating was very nice; we were given are own little room away from other diners so we didn't have too worry too much about disturbing others. Our waitress was very nice. She handled our group very well and still had time to be personable to each member of our party.
The food was very disappointing. It was basically overpriced mall food. Lots of deep fried options that are over seasoned. The oysters were good but not fantastic. My wife and I shared the chef's choice of cooked fish. We had to send it back because even though we asked for medium rare it was all completely overdone; definitely not how i like to eat my salmon and tuna."

"LSF is one of those great restaurants that always offers a sure thing. Certainly, it's quaintness is gone and has been replaced by an upscale decor and tweaked menu. The food is very good and the menu offers exactly what you would expect from LSF. It has the standards plus many new offerings that appeal to a more sophisticated palate. The restaurant was packed and everyone was happy. We have always enjoyed a meal there knowing that the food will be great! Highly recommend for big tables or occasions."

"I find the quality of food varies quite a bit between the LSF locations. Usually the quality at the Pru is better than elsewhere. This lunch however was just overpriced and nothing better than I could get anywhere else."

"i have eaten here before and is was good but this time was not i ordered the lobster bake the lobster was sooo overcooked never got the soup that was supposed to come with it the mussels were like rubber had to ask for wet wipes twice never refiiled any drinks appetizers were ok for the price and the hype i would not recommend this restaurant to anyone"

"not such a great first impression from an unfriendly host (actually 3-4 standing around and none seemed happy to see us walking in) however our servers made up for it with being very friendly but had many tables they were attending to. overall the food was good but rather high priced for what we got. i did enjoy the touch of bringing out garlic butter gluten free rolls before the meal - they were really good. my husband had the crab cakes and he really enjoyed them."

"We met some famiy who came into the city from FL. They were looking forward to NE seafood. The 4 of us hasa clam chowder which could have been warmer. Two of us had fried clams which were described by our server as 'flawless'. We thought they were good, but not crisp and a little chewy. : ( Seafood casserole in sherry was just "good" , and the crabcakes were 'pretty good'. Kind of disappointing!"

"We made a reservation for a group of 7. When we arrived they were not ready for us. They told us to wait a few minutes while they got the table ready. We were standing in the reception area. "Service was fair. Servers seemed scattered-brained. They were busy, but not on the ball. Had to ask numerous times for drinks, water, ketchup, and other small things that we shouldn't have had to. Our main server was friendly though, but we were helped by many during our visit.
Crab cakes were a lot of breading. The steamed mussels were delicious. Fisherman's trio was okay. Lobster bake was only okay too. Clam chowder was very good."

"A longtime customer, I have always liked the excellent bar and the convenience of its location. Over time I have noticed slips. A month ago, at a visit with my daughter to the same place, service was so poor that a manager partially discounted our bill. This time it was better, but two things marred the experience: first, I was early, so I told the person at the reservation desk I would wait for my guest at the bar, and would she please tell him--alas she forgot, leaving me at the bar wondering where he was and he at our table, wondering the same thing about me; second, upon leaving, I realized I had forgotten my phone, but when I went back to find it, manager had to vet the staff to find someone who, it appeared, was going to keep it."

"My husband and I showed up to dinner late; my parents were already seated. So, the hostess gave us directions to walk to the back and then take a left. We were awkwardly roaming around the dining hall for at over a minute until my parents had to yell and wave their arms signaling us... and there were 2 hostesses at the front of the restaurant who didn't seem too busy to walk us to our table.
Second, I ordered the double stuffed baked shrimp, which was clearly overcooked. The crab stuffing was burnt (black in certain areas), and the shrimp was dry. I tried to make the best of the it and eat what I could, since we were only there for my mom's bday... but I sent it back and got clam chowder so everyone wouldn't have sit and wait."

"As usual fish was very well prepared. the nutty salmon was delicious and the striped bass was good, but if not for the sauce, pretty lacking in flavor ( the nature of the fish?). they very nicely split the greek salad we ordered, and the portion seemed large, but the salad itself was a bit lame. Mostly olives and very little feta cheese. The dressing, which was quite unusual, and was also filled with olive pieces, and helped make the salad tasty. "My Mom and I had a late lunch here this past Saturday. We enjoyed it more than the location over in Copley. We had a nice window seat which allowed for good people watching.
The service was outstanding. Our waitress was very friendly, answered all questions thoroughly and added to our outstanding experience."

"It was very busy and crowded. We were a party of two, and squeezed into tables with only a foot or so between us and people on either side. It is impossible to have a private conversation in such a setting. We waited a long time just to have our water refilled and our bill paid. I have been here before, and had much better service. Next time I will request a booth!"

"Most pleased about Legals being so accommodating - My uncle and I were running late but it was easy to push our reservation back a little; the staff who handled my call was also very courteous about it. The food was great especially the lobster as usual, the fisherman's platter was very filling. We appreciated The Pledge of quality and good service at the end of our meal and we were never left waiting around for service which is great at a restaurant of such size. Will definitely return here again!"

"Our server Morgan was very knowledgeable about the menu and wine list, pleasant and very accommodating with our dairy allergies...the overall ambiance was nice slightly loud but energetic, lighting slightly dark, temperature was fine. The food was very good we had crab cake appetizer delicious although slightly over priced, we had the encrusted salmon that was perfect, and the seafood casserole that was out of this world. The Boston creme pie was to die for...we will definitely visit again.."
