Bentley's Grill - The Grand Hotel in Salem
Bentley's Grill offers comfortable fine dining in an elegant atmosphere in the heart of downtown Salem. The menu features Northwest ingredients with items to include fresh seasonal seafood, artfully presented salads or a choice steak like our Filet Mignon served with a Forest Mushroom Demi Glace. Our show kitchen offers an opportunity to see our chefs at work. Service is friendly and knowledgeable, serving clientele ranging from professionals to families with children. Bentley's lounge and wine bar is an incredible place to unwind from a busy day or to relax in the company of friends. Our bar features the Willamette Valley's largest array of premium liquors. Bentley's wine bar has a state of the art wine-keeper using nitrogen to keep open wine bottles fresh and oxygen free, and over 40 wines by the glass and 200 by the bottle.

"We had a delightful dinner for 6 on Father's Day. Everyone in our party had a wonderful experience, our server was a delightful young lady. Our meals were great as was the dessert. We love the ambiance of Bentley's Grill and we would recommend the restaurant to all. We drive from the Harrisburg area and have family in North Portland so this location is convenient for a neutral meeting spot. Several of the restaurants I called about in Salem were not even open on Sundays so we will definitely visiit Bentley's Grill again."

"It is a nice restaurant, with some ambiance, with high ceiling to make it feel grand. We had great service and good food for a fairly reasonable price. However, they failed to tell me that my spinach asparagus dip was extremely hot, and I ended up burning the roof of my mouth really bad...meaning that it hurt to eat for a couple days. Besides the failure to inform, and me being distracted, it was good!"

"Lunch menu is simple and moderately priced. Enough variety but you don't have to spend too much time on the menu. Service was friendly but a little slower this trip than usual; it wasn't a problem. If you choose to indulge in dessert the prices, like most places, are way too high. Atmosphere is great"

"Dining at Bentley's is a night out, not merely the eating of a meal. My wife and I think it's the best restaurant in Salem, and we have visited many times. She chose butternut squash ravioli and thought it was delicious and of just the right amount. I commented to our server, Dallas, that I wish the flat iron steak were still on the menu, so he recommended the hanger steak and said I would probably like it. I did enjoy it very much - juicy, tender, every bit edible. (I liked the flat iron steak better, though.) Of the four available sauces, I had mushroom and was given a generous helping of tasty musrooms with the sauce. As always, the service was excellent and the atmosphere inviting."

"I enjoyed bently's. I was meeting a couple of female friends for dinner and got there an hour before our reservation. The wait staf seated me immediately and was attentive. It's a good place to meet due to its central location and open dining room.
I had a seafood 'martini' which was quite good. I also ordered a bottle of wine to enjoy while I waited for my friends. Sadly, my first choice for was not available. Sold out! My second choice was quite acceptable, however, and reasonably priced at $54.
Butternut ravioli was good but desert rocked my world! I should have skipped dinner and left more room for desert. Good place."

"This was our first time at this restaurant and were very happy to have found it. Nice open area, but still quite cozy. Went for dinner and the food was fast getting to us, and as we ordered and expected. Very good. Also, the service was top notch. Didn't go to the bar area, but would like to check that out next time, it not only is a full bar, but has an extensive wine selection as well."

"My husband and I were passing through Salem and although we had several recommendations for other restaurants we liked the look of Bentley's Grill. We were not disappointed and were glad that we had stayed in the hotel and enjoyed the bar and restaurant on site.
I had the lamb shank and it was really good. My husband had the hanger steak with the blue cheese butter and it was beautifully cooked."

"We come often because we like the privacy of the booths, the great service, the excellent food, and the variety of the foods. My partner can have the "Chop" as he calls it and I get salad and a small plate. We were there recently for a daughter's birthday and we were very happy with the food and the service."

"I took my wife for a very early Valentine's Day Dinner. The roses I ordered online were at the table when we arrived. The employees were very impressed with the display as was my wife. The dinner we ordered was from the small plate menu. They were served timely and were well presented. The taste of the food was very good. We shared a desert and were very pleased with the excellent service from the staff. We found our waitress to be attentive and genuinely concerned that were well served."

"I was expecting great things given the reviews that I've seen. Instead, I got convention-quality food. They claim to specialize in steak and seafood, but the seafood chowder was somewhat starchy and un-interesting, the steak was cooked unevenly, and the garlic mashed potatoes were watery rather than creamy. And the pile of underdone vegeies on the side was uninspired. The wine list is good, and they have a wide selection of local wines by the glass. Ambiance is dated and not at all in keeping with the prices. Not a good value. Finally the service was OK, but not as attentive as I'd like. My waiter spent a lot of time at the next table talking to a group of his friends who where eating there."

"We went on a Friday which was the day after Valentine's Day. I'm glad we got a reservation. It was very crowded, and they reserved a nice out-of-the way booth for us. Our server checked on us the right amount even though it was so busy. Our meals were delicious. The steak was done just as requested, which is always a relief!"
