Yankee Pier, a bustling and vibrant seafood house, offers chef Michael Dunn's ocean-fresh seafood "fresh from coast to coast". Local seafood, sourced in accord with the Monterey Bay Aquarium's Seafood Watch program, which promotes sustainable practices that are healthy for ocean wildlife and the environment, is presented with a nod toward New England. Live Maine lobsters, fresh-shucked oysters, an array of grilled fresh fish, and beer-battered full belly clams are some of the offerings, along with local produce, house-made desserts, a selection of all-American wines and a full bar.

"The seafood was tasty and fresh and the service was wonderful. It did seem a bit overpriced for the portion size. We had the oysters and clams as an appetizer - they came with ceviche which was really nice. For dessert, our waiter recommended the lemon meringue pie. It was really good, but we did think that they used a packaged crust because it seemed too uninform.The coffee was unpalatable. We each took a sip and set it aside. The waiter was kind enough to remove it from our bill without us even asking!"

"Great seafood restaurant - excellent staff and service. Fresh local fish and shellfish, as well as local produce. Very pleasant place to dine and have a cocktail. Bar is smallish, but drinks and bartenders are both top notch.

"I went there for Mother's Day Brunch/Lunch and had a nice experience. Our waiter was very nice and had that "southern hospitality" and graciousness about him. We didn't feel rushed and when our dessert took longer than he thought it should, he told us it was complementary and apologized for the delay. We shared an order of fresh clams on the half shell which were delicious and my daugher had the steelhead salmon sandwich and I had fish and chips. Both were excellent and the dessert was great - I love bread pudding and it was very good. I would definitely recommend this restaurant for a good meal, nice atmosphere and good service."

"Yankee Pier is our favorite Saturday lunch spot. Eat a little, eat a lot, it's all wonderful, comfort food. There are hints of Bradley Ogden, but there are innovations on the menu as well. The staff is friendly and helpful with suggestions; they know their food."

"As it is every time we go there, Yankee Pier was fantastic in every way! Plus, not only did they give us a teacher discount, they also gave my wife a free dessert for her birthday on top of it. "We got the window seat as requested in our Open Table reservation, probably because the restaurant was practically empty at 12:30pm, with only 3 other tables with people. The special lunch was rather high priced at $15 for mostly carbs in the kettle chips, the fish sandwich and clam chowder. The chips and the soup were tasty and the highlights of the meal, which should have been the fish since it is a seafood restaurant. At first we were told we could substitute the chips for a side for $1.50, then the waiter came back and said it couldn't be done. Best to have the cook and waiters communicate before the customers ask again. Probably won't frequent the restaurant any time soon, unless for dinner it is better."

"Made reservations. Didn't think to request booth at 5:45pm. When we arrived & requested one, were told they were being held for other reservations. Fish and chips: Fish was superb, some of the best ever. Chips (fries) were ordinary; McDonalds are better. Coleslaw coarse-cut and somewhat flavorless. Potato chips with lobster roll were great. Server promised to bring bread, then forgot until we asked. Food was brought just as we were finishing soup, so we had to lift our soup out of the way so he could serve the food. I was full and & asked to take my dessert home; he agreed. Minutes later he brought fork and spoon, I asked why, he said for my dessert. I reminded him I was taking it home; he removed fork and spoon. But great fish!"

"Great food and great service. I love that they have an atmosphere lovely enough for a date with my husband but it's casual for family dining at the same time and we can go with our child as well. The prices are rather high, although, I'd say it's worth for the fresh seafood which they cook perfectly. I personally love the pan-seared scallops with lime cilantro rice!"

"What a nice find!!! This was our first time visiting Yankee Pier, and definitely won't be the last. We (four of us) arrived at 4:00 and caught the tail end of Happy Hour which ends at 5:00 (a little earlier than most, especially for patrons who have to work until 5:00). We each had a wine (a Pinot Noir Rose), off the happy hour menu, we probably wouldn’t have tried at regular prices and were pleasantly surprised. Each of us ordered an appetizer, more wine, clam chowder, more wine, a meal and then dessert. Everything was excellent! I can’t wait to go back and try a couple of other meals that looked great!"

"Clean restaurant, good service, wish the food tasted a little better. My blackened shrimp taco was just ok, and not sure if I liked the white rice and black beans together. The moisture from the beans make the rice soggy and tasteless. Maybe kick it up a notch by giving you tarter sauce, and some other sort of rice. With a place that services fresh seafood, I wasn't impressed."

"My husband and I were dining and were surprised when our son, his wife and her father came in. We invited them to join us and the restaurant personnel were wonderful about accommodating our new dining party. I'm sure this sudden addition was disruptive to their reservation policy, but they were very gracious and we really appreciated it. It's always a pleasure to dine at Yankee Pier."

"We really enjoyed our dinner at your Yankk Pier Resraurant. We had requested a quieter table and our request was honored the best that the restaurant could because of their room's seating arrangement. Our waiter was appropriately attentive with food and wine ideas, and he brought out our food in a timely manner. The restaurant's managers welcomed us and were attentive at our table. Our food was delicious. We had eaten there several times before; our adult niece was there with us for the first time and was very impressed."

"We choose YP for a special treats during the year and I always feel treated well and food has always been excellent. We visited there for Valentine's dinner and I loved the lobster bisque but the Captains platter or ? with shrimp, cod, and clams was very poorly presented - I would have preferred not to have spent 25 dollars on that item, nor will I in the future. Unfortunately when the manager/owner asked us about the food, when I explained how "soggy" the clams were as well as only having one plus a couple of pieces of one, he shrugged his shoulders and said that the clams were supposed to be "moist" - had he offered either another piece of cod or shrimp I would have felt like I had a fair exchange. He offered nothing and walked away !!"

"very disappointed with service and attitude of management. Went only to use our Passport card because prices are high there, and waiter/manager refused to honor card. had to have several conversations with managers to have them honor card. Made us feel very uncomfortable. We live and work in same city for 25 yrs (Lafayette) and location is convenient for us, but restaurant won't get our recommendation nor referrals in future. they should have kept their mouths shut, or not be on the passport card. Their higher management personnel would not be happy with local management attitudes!"

"As always, the scallops were extraordinary. I tried a new side dish, the polenta cake, but it didn't really do it for me (a little dry and bland). When I remarked this to the server, she brought over the GM who told me to order anything else I wanted for free. I tried another new (for me) side, the bisquit, and it was amazing! Who would think a bisquit would be anything special, but I'll tell you, I saved it for my dessert - it was that good.
These people really care about their customers -- you absolutely can not go wrong dining at Yankee Pier!"

"oysters were just ok but the dungeness crab louis salad and the clam chowder were great. Good service makes this a go to place on a Sunday night when the Yacht Club is closed. Yacht Club oysters are better but otherwise, this is a lovely place to dine."
