Jake's and Cooper's Wine Bar
Jake's and Cooper's Wine Bar is an innovative Four Star restaurant featuring New American cuisine for 22 years. Chef Bruce Cooper and his staff feature a classic approach to cuisine in a comfortable environment.
In 2008, we opened Cooper's Brick Oven Wine Bar, adjacent to Jake's. Featuring more than 30 wines by the glass from all around the world, Cooper's is a casual, neighborhood eatery.
We also welcome guests to bring your personal cellar selections and join us for dinner in the JAKE'S DINING ROOM for a $5 corkage fee any night of the week.

"Overall it was pretty good. Service was great up until dessert. Took 45min to an hour to get it which was surprising. It didn't seem like the waiters fault but was disappointing that was the only low point. Figured it would take maybe an hour and a half two hours and we were there for well over two and a half hours because of dessert. Probably should work on that."

"The service was *very* slow. After giving the waiter my debit card to pay the check, he comes back (10 minutes later) and tells me that another waiter mistakenly used my card to pay for another table's check. He assured me that the charge would clear "within 24 hours." I Should have spoken with a manager before leaving but didn't.
2 days later and I was charged for two checks: the right one, and another for $496! Called and the courteous fellow on the phone says the debit should clear "within 72 hours" and if it doesn't then to call them back. That's ridiculous that they can't clear it from their end immediately and release the $496 back to my account. So now, because of *their* error, I'm out almost $500 for, at best, close to a week."

"The food and service were very well done. Our waiter paid close attention, but no overbearing. We were a party of 4 with one vegan, which the chef accommodated fairly well. The beer selection was excellent."

"We went for restaurant week and were quite disappointed. It was advertised as $30 for 3 courses. However, there were only 2 choices for each course and none were all that appealing. The tuna tartar appetizer was bland had no taste at all."

"We hadn't been to Jake's in years. It had been completely renovated, both in terms of its physical structure and a brand new menu. The bar area is now huge and very hopping! The restaurant side is lovely. We had the best waitress!!! She was so sweet and attentive! Everyone loved what they ordered (group of 6). It was a birthday celebration for me and didn't disappoint. We would definitely go back.
P.S. They even validate parking"

"It's nice to be incredibly surprised by a restaurant. Went there for brunch and had one of the nicest, best-tasting brunches ever. Lobster, spinach, and ricotta omelette. Honey almost french toast. Great bellini and bloody mary. Service was very pleasant and attentive. And prices were very reasonable."

"Jake's is one of our favorite restaurants. Due to distance, we had not been there in a couple years. Our recent visit was our first since they had expanded into the space next door, moving the bar out of the original space in the restaurant proper. The food and service were as good as we remembered. There is more seating space in the main restaurant and it seemed that the tables were not as close together as they used to be. This allowed for a little more privacy and better ambience. I had my favorite dish, the crab cake, which is one of the best around. The other members of my part all enjoyed their meals as well."

"Went there because of the high rating for their pizza. Had the four cheese, my friend had the mushroom, it was one of the best pizzas I have had. I prefer pizza over everthing!! They use Claudios mozz, the best in the city, much better than Dibrunos and have never seen a menu stating that they use Claudios, that made me very happy, and was not disappointed."

"Menu is eclectic. Small plates, appetizers, entrees. Different types of food but all prepared exceptionally. The red sauce with mussels is to die for. The scallops are tender and lightly seasoned. The cheese and meat charcuterie plate allows you to pick your cheese and meat which are served with jam or mustard and this is delicious. There is more on the menu than anyone could want and it is sure to satisfy all tastes. Service was very attentive and the new remodel is inviting and warm."

"Had not been to Jake's in over a decade and was really impressed by the new look, great menu, excellent service by Anna, and delicious food. Not to mention a great beer list! We will definitely not wait a decade to return. We usually drive into center city for dinners but Jake's is easier to get to and is equal to the best restaurants in center city. A wonderful evening."
