"This was a last minute find online and without recommendations we went there hoping for he best. It turned out to be a very nice early dinner. A little old or traditionally decorated. The food was very good as was the service. The food portions were normal to small which allowed you to enjoy a dessert. Maybe a little pricey but a really nice out of the way place with a cozy outdoor patio."

"When we were seated at the table there was a large spider on the wall right behind my mother. The waitress was horrible. She was very unfriendly and non attentive. My mother ordered surf and turf and when the lobster tail came out it was barely cooked. She had already removed it from the shell and made a cut. The waitress took the tail on a side plate and returned it after being microwaved a few minutes later. This is not the type of service or food quality one would expect from a fine dinning experience on mothers day."

"My family dined here for Mother's Day Brunch this past Sunday. We love the General Warren Inn and come in frequently. My only complaint was that there were no brunch items on the menu. Confusing!! It seemed as if they just took their dinner menu and called it brunch. Although the food was very good, as usual, we would have preferred to have at least one or two "brunchy" kind of items to choose from."

"We just ate there a few nights ago for the first time - they had a 1000-pt table so we figured we'd give it a try. The maitre'd was extremely nice, and so were the wait staff. They have a good pre-fix special on Mon-Thur, and we thought it was a pretty good value ($29). Food was tasty (not the greatest steak I've ever had, but good for the price), service was timely and friendly, and the atmosphere was nice (quiet). We will definitely return. Outside area looks great for outdoor dining or parties."

"A nice evening in a lovely setting. The service staff was friendly, informative and well-paced. Food was nicely presented but somewhat bland taste-wise. Barrel steak special was sort of chewy and needed better saucing. Cocktails, though generous, were way over priced - $13 for a JW Black is a bit much. We both were in the biz years ago and appreciate a fine dining experience, but the menu does not really warrant the pricing."

"Not a food critic, so I'm trying to be kind with this one. Table side Caesar was good. Staff was very cordial and timely. Food was extremely poor and very over priced. I've had much better meals fast food restaurants. The staff did notice I barely finished my "Dover Sole" and reduced the already overly high "Market Price" Dover Sole was much like thin strips of firm mystery fish in a bad sauce. My guests Beef Wellington was about as good as you would get at a low rate wedding service...."

"The food was delicious and service was very good. Our table was in the corner and next to what I think was the kitchen as there were a few " disturbing" bumps and crashes. It kind of detracted from the general ambience of the restaurant. However it wasn't busy so we could have asked to be moved I suppose, but given that,I wonder why we were placed there in the first place. In general I don't like when restaurants place a couple next to a table with a fairly large party if there is an alternative. Again, wasn't a major problem just a pet peeve of mine. Overall we enjoyed our meal and I would go back. ( We have been before)."

"We were welcomed promptly and wished a happy anniversary. Our table was next to the servers station, but we were the only party in the dining room. Cold air drafted into the room from the entrance.
The music was incongruous with the colonial inne's ambience. Wait staff was not polished or professional.
Cocktails were good. Snapper soup had a grayish cream sauce. Sea bass was dry. Chicken breast was served in two pieces-one tender, the other tough. A lovely complimentary dessert was served to honor our anniversary. Reasonable price for a large party."

"It was our first time at general Warren, based on recommendation of one of our party, which was 8 persons. Everything - from complimentary valet, to reception, to accommodating several of our more unusual requests (it was a surprise birthday celebration), the food, the attentive and professional service staff who did table-side food preparation - everything was perfect and made for a memorable evening. While we were part of a large group on this occasion, my husband and I will be sure to go back - excellent and varied wine list and a beautiful spot in a charming old house."

"Excellent choice for celebrating friends who rarely meet. Our gathering of 11 received excellent attention from food & beverage staff during a recent reunion gathering. There are few restaurants able to provide such individual service anywhere in Eastern PA. We have met here previously and have never been disappointed. One of our guests was detained due to an important local town council meeting and arrived late. She was surprisingly and graciously "announced" (really) by the evening host to our group as "Ladies and Gentlemen: The Queen." What fun! We also ordered a small surprise cake for one guest who was celebrating his birthday. What an entrance the cake received! If you want a memorable experience for small groups this is the place!"

"Not sure where to start. Way overpriced bar - two Grey Goose $23.50!! Dinner service confusing. Jordan server; another woman came over to tell us specials and that was the last we saw of her. Jordan was okay but he has an aloofness? Biggest issue was food-related. I ordered the crabcake; husband ordered Wellington. They both came out hot,which we love, but his Wellington had a reduction sauce that was clearly burned. Back went the Wellington, requested without sauce. Lengthy wait. Crabcake well prepared but the salt shaker is used too stronly in this kitchen also. Wellington came out again; chef must have used the same reduction in the duxelle because it still tasted burned. Was remonved from bill but damage was done."

"Another wonderful experience. The bride has taken to calling this "our place" she enjoys it so much. Cozy fire on a cold Thursday night warmed the main dining room. The menu continues to change - and always in a positive direction, but this time we enjoyed staples from the regular menu - the sirloin and the pan fried sea bass. We did however treat ourselves to the special chocolate / marshmallow / caramel dessert. Good thing there was two spoons! Stayed for a night cap to listen to Mindy Rhodes and enjoy the services of Tom the best bartender on the Main Line."

"I had the Beef Wellington with asparagus. The beef was the best I've ever had and the asparagus was cooked perfectly. The snapper soup was amazing as well as the desserts. The staff was very pleasant and attentive. I will definitely be returning!"

"As always I enjoyed my visit to the general warren inn. I usually go for dinner but found out that lunch with 7 others is also nice. The food was great and the atmosphere very quiet and professional. The service was good but lacked an attitude of "how can I please you?""

"This is one of the loveliest restaurants in all seasons. The food is always beautifully presented and very flavorful. The manager and wait staff are top notch. This restaurant has been a go to place for my husband and me for romantic dinners, a great place for our family dinner of 12 and a memorable place to host a party. We have never been disappointed with the quality of the food, the outstanding staff and the amazing charm of this lovely Inn. Bravo."

"A great go to spot for special occasions. Very good food selections in a romantic environment with great service. We went for our anniversary and always enjoy the general warren. The food will not blaze any foodie trails but offers solid preparations with good ingredients. The dover sole is a perfect example of a great preparation of a very classic dish, I loved it. We also enjoyed beef wellington, which seems to be a hour specialty."

"Extremely busy night. Waitress came right over got our drinks then it was a waiting game. Dinner lasted just shy of 4 hours. Waited for everything from wine right down to dessert. Food would have gotten a 4 but by the time they prepared the two table side filets everything was getting cool. They did comp dessert without us asking. Will say all staff was very pleasant"
