"My husband and I had a lovely dinner. The service was good, and the salad and soup were wonderful. The entrees were not as exceptional as we were expecting, but still good. However, we ordered decaf coffees at the end of the meal and were shocked that the coffee was very weak. The waiter kindly replaced our cups, but did not check back to see if the new coffee was an improvement - it was not. Not a big deal in the overall scheme, but last impressions can be lasting, too."

"Not bad, quite good actually. We had a completely competent dinner with solid service. A bit on the sedate side but not unpleasantly so. This was a dinner with one of our two children and they were, as you would expect, very accommodating. We'd go back."

"The waiter (Euthemio?) was absolutely terrific, and made the experience very pleasant. He was attentive, efficient, knowledgeable, and personable (great smile!). He went the extra mile to make sure we were enjoying our lunch. He was sensitive to the fact that we were having a business discussion (and, thus, did not disturb our conversation), but was right there when we needed anything. BEST SERVICE I HAVE EVER HAD -- and this is said in the context of having had many business lunches at restaurants far more expensive in many cities around the world. (BTW, I don't usually take the time to write a review, but I just had to this time because the service was so good.)"

"My husband and I are regulars at Oakville Grill and, once again, the food and service didn't disappoint. Lovely tilapia and rockfish. We love Ida, the elegant-looking and warm hostess. The only quibble was that the upside down apple pie was cold and the bottom crust almost impossible to cut into even with a knife. But a nice dinner as usual nonetheless."

"There were 8 of us, and everyone said their varied choices were delicious. We were celebrating 3 anniversaries, and you offered up 3 or 4 desserts, which we all thought was very nice and thoughtful. The service was excellent. We had been there two or three times with one other couple. This was the first time we were with a large party, and our experience was the same, i.e., excellent.
My only minor complaint would be the noise level. It was a little on the noisy side. Other than that, it was great, and I wouldn't hesitate to make another reservation."

"We went to Oakville Grill for our anniversary dinner. We had mussels for appetizer and they were amazing! The restaurant is cozy and somewhat loud. We could easily hear conversations at nearby tables. The service was very good as our waiter was very attentive. They surprised us with champagne and strawberries after dinner to toast our celebration."

"Oakville was a good choice for a pre-theatre meal before heading to a performance at Strathmore. The service was a little slow and my lemongrass shrimp were a bit overcooked, but the portion sizes were generous. The food was a bit pricey even for the good sized portions. The atmosphere was very nice and we enjoyed the wine selection. Due to the slow service we did not have time for dessert - and this was a 6:00 reservation for an 8:00 performance. We should have had plenty of time."

"We were lucky enough to have a good waiter at this really mediocre restaurant, surprsingly so. Nice ambiance. We'd read some reviews and were looking forward to the dinner. In a word, the food was simply not good, not adequate for the prices charged. There were three of us, and the bill came to $250, inlcuding tip and a $54 bottle of wine, which, was uninspired. The Lemongrass shrimp and trout were tasteless, mussels cooked in a brine a wee bit too acidic. Most things had hardly any flavor, no salt, no seasonings to speak of. The lamb chops were all right, though in a reduction sauce that was just on the wrong side of too sweet. The best thing was the calamari. It was seasoned well."

"Went to Oakville Grille and Wine Bar for Valentine's Day and were pleasantly surprised. It's located in a weird area but it is definitely a hidden gem. I would recommend this place to anyone looking for something gourmet with a versatile wine list.
Service was slow but I think it can be equated to being a holiday."

"I stopped in for a quick lunch and had a cheeseburger. It was better than expected with a nice char on the burger and good french fries. The service left something to be desired as they were not very attentative. All in all for under 20 bucks I had a great lunch."

"I've never had a bad meal at Oakville Grille. The food and wine list are excellent (although a bit pricey). My husband had the seafood risotto, and it was really outstanding. It's very convenient to Strathmore, and the staff is always accommodating about getting our check to us in time to get to the show."
