Il Mulino Trattoria is a New York City Steakhouse with a Greek flair. Il Mulino Trattoria offers a sophisticated Mediterranean dining experience inspired by the exotic flavors of Greece and the time-honored conventions of an American steakhouse.
The menu features hand selected U.S.D.A. Prime Dry Aged steaks and chops from Pat LaFrieda & Sons. Each cut has been aged for at least 28 days in the LaFrieda Himalayan Salt Room. In celebration of traditional Greek cooking, Il Mulino Trattoria also offers a dynamic range of classic dishes. Selections include tender lamb riblets, slow braised octopus and a hearty vegetable moussaka. Carefully prepared, each dish captures a different element from the heart of Greece.

"Beautiful setting, moderate prices, great service. If you want avreliablybgood meal, good wine list away from the crazy, trendy places, this is the place. Our waiter was lovely and allowed two old friends to have a great meal. This is my second visit and I will be back."

"I brought my wife here for a quiet date night and everything was great. The steak was perfectly cooked. The appetizers were on point and had that certain Greek influence that we were looking for. The service was exceptional. Gordon was our server and was extremely attentive. The restaurants General manager Christophe was an absolute please to speak with. The passion he has for his restaurant truly can be felt in all aspects of the operation. We will most certainly be back real soon!"

"We visit NYC several times a year for both business and pleasure. We generally stay in Midtown. This time we elected to stay Downtown in Gramercy. We were in town for three nights and this was our last night dinner. Fabulous to say the least. Our waiter (Bartok) was terrific. The grilled octopus appetizer was by far the best I have ever had. The steak(filet) was likewise the best ever. I will return for another memorable meal."

"As a well versed foodie, I have experienced many of the culinary delights in NYC and abroad. One would expect to find delicious lamb dishes and other wonders of the Greek style cuisine. But, Parea has taken an intriguing approach to Greek cuisine by adding Pat LA Frieda steaks to their menu. In my opinion, their steak stacks up to every steak I have tried by any of the dedicated steak houses in NYC…not to mention the portion sizes are larger while very competitively priced. The sommelier is very knowledgeable and made a wonderful suggestion away from one of my favorite California Cabs. Bottom line - the combination of traditional Greek cuisine with top tier steak is a dream come true for any Mediterranean foodie. This a place is a gem!"

"EXCELLENT, EXCELLENT, EXCELLENT .... I've been to many places, tried a variety of cuisines but this place DOES IT RIGHT. The appetizers transform you to Greece with those beautiful, vibrate flavors. The steaks and seafood are cooked to juicy perfection, paired with flavorful side and the wines, EXCELLENT wines in a decent price range. The mediterranean desserts are SINFUL! The decor and staff are warm, welcoming and make you feel like you are a regular. DEFINTITELY making this place a regular........"

"Wow. I live in the neighborhood and finally a steak house I can return to. Our table had the Porterhouse and the Prime NY strip. Just perfect. The sides were equally delicious. I do not review restaurants nor do I read review but I felt that Parea deserved my 2 cents. Obviously, I will return."

"I'm always suspicious when I read a glowing review thinking that it's coming from the owner's cousin, but full disclosure here: My only connection to this restaurant is that it is 4 blocks from our apartment. Sufficed to say, we had one of the best meals the other night. We were skeptical when this restaurant rebranded itself as a steakhouse since we are pesca-vegetarians. But we were amazed at how well the fish was prepared, the best octopus ever, the service (David Gordon) was as good as any 5 star establishment, and the drinks were prepared expertly. A wonderful evening!"

"I was pleasantly surprised at the quality of the steak. I have eaten at all the big name steakhouses and have to say that Parea Prime's held their own. In fact, the rib eye was one of the best i have had in NYC. They have a fantastic wine list (prices are unbelievable) to pair with your dinner and the cocktails at the bar are great. Gregory was an amazing waiter! I can't wait to go back."

"My understanding is that Parea Prime is fairly new to the neighborhood, which may have explained why it was a bit quiet and not completely full, but for a business dinner for four people, the noise level was perfect. The service was very good, and the food (we all had fish) was excellent. The grilled octopus was especially good. The sides of vegetables (mushrooms/brussel sprouts) had a bit too much sauce, but were otherwise prepared well. A nice touch was the "on the house" dessert platter that was brought over with our coffees. The atmosphere was hip without being over the top, and the lighting and decor was smooth and earthy. Everyone was very pleased with the restaurant and would go back for dinner again"

"Dined here the other night with a friend. He loves Greek food and I love steak so we both won! They have a great looking bar so we decided to start there with drinks and appetizers. Had the seafood bouquet and it was SO delicious! Really great wine selection too. My filet minon was so tender and flavorful and he had the Lavraki (grilled sea bass) and it was amazing! We shared the brussel sprouts w/ bacon and truffle mac and cheese. Our server was very attentive and even brought us a small dessert platter on the house! Excellent service overall. Will absolutely be back."

"I really wanted to like this restaurant, it had a really great look and I had wanted to come there for some time. The menu looked interesting but our entrees ended up being a disappointment (an expensive disappointment at that...) Everything we chose seemed bland, I had the lobster Ravioli and my date had the sea bass, but neither impressed us much- To be fair they had just changed their menu recently I was told so perhaps I should cut them some slack... If you go, try one of the meat dishes it was prominent on the menu with lots of choices, we went there for the seafood primarily and was hoping for an Estiatorio Milos experience but it fell short. It was a romantic space though and the waiter we had was very attentive so it scored there.."

"I don't understand why restaurants have to mess with success. Parea was a favorite of ours for years and we never had a bad meal there. Since changing to Parea "Prime", and the menu has shifted heavily to meat, this restaurant has become just another mediocre steak place instead of the excellent Greek establishment that it once was. With the rise of beef, the preparation of their previously excellent fish has suffered. Please bring the old place back!"
