Toula Restaurant
Toula is located in Toronto's Westin Harbour Castle Hotel. Its location, on the edge of Lake Ontario, presents a stunning view of the city and it's surroundings. The rich Italian fabrics, mirrored in the gold leaf ceiling, provide guests with the perfect setting to compliment any occasion. Toula has a well established reputation for using only the finest of ingredients. Of course, no menu would be complete without a wonderful selection of wines. General Manager Adriano Vicentini has been acquiring a substantial collection to compliment any dish. The main focus of our list has naturally fallen on Italian Reds, from the regions of Piedmonte and Tuscany. With a cellar consisting of over three hundreds labels, however, our ababundant range of flavours, from both Old and New World regions, will surely yield the perfect bottle to satisfy even the most discerning of palates.

"SERVICE - We were there for an 80th birthday celebration and this was noted when the reservation was made but the staff did absolutely nothing to make the event special.
AMBIENCE - Horrible! There was a group of menu that were extremely loud and using profanity. The furniture was old, stained and broken. Several tables were wobbly and the ceiling was peeling. The menu was a cheap print out on plain white paper.
FOOD - The roasted potatoes were dry, shrivelled and burnt and obviously not freshly made. The steak was not trimmed and was laced with fat. The chocolate lava cake was dry, hard and chocolate centre was not melted. The "gelato" that accompanied the cake was a very small portion and it was clear that this was not true gelato."

"Not amazing by any means. Tiny portions of overpriced food. At least at the CN tower, your portions are good and you get a rotating view. The ambience is "off". Cheap looking chairs and the wait staff need to learn about dining and interrupting people when they are opening gifts!
I was sorely disappointed and we went for our anniversary instead of going back to the CN Tower. Lesson learned, stick to the good stuff! same price as CN but you get a rotating view and a trip up to the skywalk and more professional staff and prettier setting."

"I spent 12+ years in the hospitality industry. Service was very good, food was good and one of my clients food was well undercooked and it was addressed vey professionally. I had a snifter of Gran Marnier with the Creme Brulee. It was barely a shot if that. When you pick up a snifter and you have to hold it high just to see if something is there. Didn't ask the price, just wanted the usual experience. From Hawaii,Germany, Italy, and throughout the US it didn't compare. Your service staff was excellent."

"We had a theatre package and thought we would try toula since we were staying at the hotel. We were very happy with our choice. Even though the selection was small for the theatre menu, the food was amazing: as well as the service and the view! Would definitely love to go back!

"The staff at Toula Restaurant was excellent. We received a friendly greeting, we were seated immediately and our server was aware of our seating request made online when booking the reservation. The wait staff were extremely warm and friendly and made my wife and I feel very comfortable. Our order was taken promptly, our appetizer was served right away and our meal arrived quickly. The staff were attentive but not intrusive. The food was excellent. The salad was extremely fresh, delicious and nicely presented. The entrees were served hot and were equally delicious. I can not say enough good things about our experience at Toula. I would highly recommend this restaurant. Thank-you."

"I went here based on a Living Social offer. I wouldn't have normally gone as I associate this place as "old" and "no longer relevant". What a mistake! While it does have that hotel restaurant feel to it, the view is unbelievable and the food was absolutely amazing!!! Get over any preconceptions you might have and try this place out. Amazing!!!"

"Went back to Toula on Feb. 16, 2013. This experience was not the greatest. Firstly, sitting at the window in the sunken section of the dinning room was like sitting in a freezer. Actually that whole section was cold because we moved to another table and it was just as cold. Secondly, there seem to be a "Jon Jovi party" at the time in one section of the restaurant (hard to enjoy your romantic dinner with a party just ear shot of your freezing table).We really enjoyed the food as always, but this experience at Toula was really sub-par based on what we have experienced at Toula in the past."

"The service is not what I expected for a restaurant that markets itself as fine dining upscale experience. The food was very tasty and the menu is quite balanced, but I didn't feel the price reflected the level of service or attention to deal. Add to this that the night I ate there the restaurant allowed a large group of Bon Jovi fans to take over the restaurant and interrupt the Valentine's Day dinners of the Saturday night guests and I was't terribly impressed."

"While staying at the Harbour Castle, we had a great dining experience here. Wonderful selection of food, with an unbeatable view of the city and lake. The restaurant has a fine dining feel, but our reservation was early enough to make it a kid friendly place primarily because of the staff who were great with my kids who are 2 and 5 years old."

"While the food looked, smelled and tasted wonderful and was very nicely presented, we both thought it really was way overpriced for a meal. Initially service at the table was very good, however the waiter seemed to forget about us after he brought our dessert, tea and coffee."

"My wife and I had a great evening at Toula. We had the Chateaubriand for Two. It was presented well and cooked to perfection (medium rare) The last time we were there about 25 years ago it rotated but it does not now. We sat with a view of the Lake, Western gap. It was spectaculer on the clear night, could see all around the Golden Horseshoe.
Would recommend to any couple. With salad,main,wine, desert and coffee it was $250. Well worth it. Rode down on the scenic elevator great view."

"For folks like us (my partner and I), this is the sort of restaurant that's reserved for special occasions. It will break the bank and you get "fashionably" small portions. But it was romantic, and it served great food. We shared a salad to start, and it was both incredibly fresh and exceedingly tasty. My main course was a lamb with potatoes. The lamb was flavourful and cooked perfectly; the potatoes and veggies were delicious, but amounted to a couple of spoonfuls. My partner had a pasta dish recommended by a server, and it was homemade to perfection. We shared a delicious tiramisu for desert. The negatives? Most of the servers were snobby and unfriendly. The appetizer bread was stale. And it's outrageously priced."

"Amazing view and very romantic, they gave each woman a rose that went that night so I thought that was very nice. Ambiance was great and I highly recommend going at night and you must ask for the City view.
My only comment is that the Valentine's special is over-priced and the set menu items are not worth the money. Based on the price I would not visit this restaurant again for this kind of occasion."

"A group of 10 friends and family decided to try the Toula as part of Winterlicious and to celebrate a couple of birthdays.
Although the atmosphere was nice, the experience was very disappointing for the following reasons:
-There were two tables joined together and one was the typical 6 foot tables you would find in a banquette hall where the individuals sitting at the ends had no leg room
-The chairs were shaking and many left dinner with sore backs.
-Once the waiter took our full three course order, we didn't see him again until he brought the bill. His runners did the rest.
-Dessert was served without utensils or the offer of coffee or tea
-Those who wanted coffee or tea received it after the dessert was finished
-The meals were ad"

"We went to Toula to celebrate my husband's birthday. He loved the surprise. They gave us a table right by the window with a scenic view to CN Tower. The staff and servers were extremely nice. The wine was really good and the dishes delicious. The portions were good size and the prices very reasonable. I told the server we were there to celebrate a birthday and they brought us Tiramasu with a candle in a decorated plate. Toula is a perfect place for a romantic dinner!"

"Food and ambiance can't be beat. We went thinking the restaurant revolved but it stopped revolving 12 years ago. A table facing the sunset would be amazing for that time of day. Facing the city lights for after dark and a table facing the water for daylight dining would be the best plan.
