"Perfectly cooked filet and ribeye, nice sear. Creamed spinach was slightly over-salted, but all in all my colleague and I were very happy with our meal. Only minor compliant is that we had to refill our own wine, but the waiter was nice and not on top of us. Just thought they might come by and refill it once so I just kept doing tipping our bottle."

"While the excitement of my first time dinning experience was great, i was really disappointed in the taste of the stakes. there was way too much salt used on both my stake and my wife's. if you look at the indigence of the marinate they gave us the first one listed was salt. wouldn't it be better to add it at the table like they do pepper on salads?"

"Our Waiter introduced himself as "Awesome Scott". I was having dinner with a business collegue and my wife at 8:00 PM. We wanted to relax, enjoy the atmosphere, discuss business, and enjoy a good dinner. Awesome Scott, was obviously in a hurry for us to order, eat, and leave, so our evening was a bit rushed. Awesome Scott would interrupt our conversation, mid sentence, to ask if we were ready to order, top of the wine, finished with our plates, etc. He was very rude and seemed to have an attitude when asked questions. I expected a better service experience than what we received. Other than that, the food was excellent and the evening was mostly enjoyable. Not so "Awesome", Scott!"

"Elway's in the Ritz Carlton downtown Denver is the best steak house I know. They have consistently high quality beef and it is cooked to order every time. The seafood is also quite good and fresh. I eat here every time I come to Denver. The ambiance is pleasing and very sophisticated. Service is attentive and courteous. Don't change anything!"

"The resturant appeared to have quite a few tables that were booked and occupied but did not appear to be any different then any other night that we have been in. Our assigned waitress did not appear at our table until well after her co-partner had taken and delivered our drink order. She arrived after quite a period of time and did not seem to be apologetic about the timing. Overall service from that point was not rave worthy but we have to admit.....Elways serves a wonderful generous dinner portion. We both ordered the boneless short ribs that are full of flavor and our favorite!"

"My husband and I were visiting Denver and dined at Elway's Downtown. What a good decision. Terrific food, exceptional service. The waiter made several great suggestions from the menu. He was very attentive, without becoming a pest. I would highly recommend this restaurant. The only negative of the night was the table with loud, whiney children, but that's an issue the parents should have dealt with--not Elway's staff. We will definitely return the next time we visit Denver."

"My husband and I recently went to Elways for our one year anniversary. and we were not disappointed. The food was amazing and it was great to have a nice night out. "Although my food was very good, it was overpriced given the overall experience. The same applies to the wine. The seating was comfortable, although I was surprised by how low the chairs were. We moved to the bar which had very comfortable seats. The lighting is strange, the walls lacking decor suitable to the venue. Our first waitress was unsmiling and unenthusiastic. The bartender was much friendlier, but difficult to "catch" for something as simple as salt & pepper, which shouldn't have been necessary to ask for. The bartender took my leftover steak - about 1/2, and put it on the back bar. I was trying to get his attention when we were leaving, but couldn't. Then, admittedly, I got distracted & left it behind."

"Umm?? Mr Elway is my HERO and the # 1 thing on my "Bucket List" was to take a lady to ELWAY'S STEAK HOUSE!!! THIS LADY FINALLY CAME INTO MY LIFE & I HAD THE MOST ENJOYABLE EVENING OF MY LIFE THIS PAST TUESDAY EVENING!!! From the valet parking through all of dinner, My lady friend and myself were treated with the utmost respect, as though we were members of John's family!!!
I am just a skinny old viet nam vet, but NEVER, have I been treated with so much respect! From the time I made reservations on line with Larelle, until we came into Mr. Elway's STEAK HOUSE, have I ever felt to honored!!! Your wait staff was so professsional!!! I've worked in dining establishments all my life and the Your wait staff is the GREATEST!!!"

"The food at Elways was very good, but the portions were huge and my meat was very salty. It would be a good restaurant for a business dinner, however not so good for a romantic night out. The service was good and the scene was very lively."

"Easter Brunch 2013 was good. Service was outstanding. They went out of their way to make my son a grilled cheese sandwich since he wouldnt heat any of the brunch stuff. Deserts were a disapointment. They were very nice to look at and you could tell someone spent a lot of time on them but as far as a brunch goes you would expect a larger variety. Over all I would say good for a one time try but for the price $55 you can go to just as nice a place and I believe get just as good or better food."

"This was our first time at Elway's Downtown although we have eaten at Elway's in Cherry Creek many times. We really loved the atmosphere, much quieter then the Cherry Creek location and the food was wonderful. Our servers couldn't have been more attentive and we were impressed with the quality of everything being that it is the Ritz Carlton Hotel Lobby. I ordered the Lamb which was cooked perfectly and my husband ordered the Ahi Tuna, also perfect. This is a very special place for anyone looking for a great restaurant downtown."

"We were surprised that Elways was in the Ritz Carlton! Not a bad thing, just that sometimes that hotel can be a little "stuffy". But Elways was not stuffy! Great atmosphere. Spacious and very upscale and modern. And more importantly, the food was great. Our party of 3 had the filet, the New York strip and the feature fish. All were excellent. Even our son's onion rings appetizer was delicious. The staff was helpful, but perhaps somewhat standoffish. Prices were somewhat high, but our meal was excellent. So no complaints and we would return."
