"I went with a group of friends from college, our waiter was knowledgeable and personable. I will be back. The atmosphere was great. My dish was good, not great, but my friends dishes were amazing. The chicken parm is as big as your head and outstanding. All 6 of us couldn't stop raving about our waiter. He made the evening for sure! Thank you Artu!"

"We were here on Saturday night, had a booking but had to wait 20 minutes in a very crowded front area near the bar. Lots of people squeezing by, lots of staff running around. Not a calm start to our meal! We were eventually seated, and to be fair to the waitress she was very efficient and our food came out quickly. The mains came out a bit too quickly though, I hate being served my main course when I am still eating my starter. We would go back, but not on a Saturday night, it's too busy and we didn't find it a particularly pleasant experience because of that. Food was good though and our waitress was lovely."

"Artu was very busy when I went this past Saturday night. I had made reservations for 7:15 and when we got there on time, we could tell it was very very busy. We didn't end up getting seated for over half an hour and when we did, we found the drink menu was inaccurate and were told (after ordering it) that they had not had that drink for over a month. Bread was delivered promptly as was our appetizer of crustini (very good!). The entrees took a fair amount of time to come out but were hot and fresh. Overall it was good and I would go again...maybe after trying another place in the area though."

Everyone was friendly, but seemed like people were fragmented in their duties. Lots of employees moving around but not even close to the service I received the night before."

"I really enjoyed my meal, but some in the group did not. Our service was very slow. When it comes to big groups-our waitress would only split the bill 4 ways. She did not tell us this in the beginning. Several paid cash, 3 wanted to split their part on credit cards. The waitress decided to split the 18% gratuity on the 3 cards only instead of splitting it for the entire group. The people who paid cash had included the gratuity in with their cash. It seems our waitress worked it out for herself to get a pretty nice tip out of our group."

"The food was good. The dining room was crowded, and we sat in a high-traffic location for the wait staff, so it often felt like we were being bumped. Very noisy. For a $10 glass of wine, I doubt I received 2.5 oz. I was glad I had a reservation because there was a long line waiting to be seated, and we were seated right away."

"We were disappointed in the service. Not attentive to our group of 13. We ordered about 5 bottles of wine and a server would open, have me do a taste and then put down the bottle and walk away before I could say if it was ok and didn't pour me or anyone else a glass?!?! Several folks ordered a chicken/gnocchi special and the chicken was dry and way overcooked. But other dishes were good. The broccoli rabe side order was excellent. but simple dishes had mistakes. They did not take care of a large party very well. Of course, we all had fun, but I wish for a better culinary experience overall."

"We had a Friday night reservation and were seated immediately on arrival. Entrees were well prepared and reasonably priced. Room is long and fairly narrow, and was a little loud but not to the point of being a distraction. Our waitress seemed to disappear for long stretches during dinner, which was a little annoying. Artu remains one of our top 5 places in the North End for very good Italian food at reasonable prices."

"We came from NY and booked a table at this restaurant on a friends recommendation. Glad we did. Loved the North End and if we did not have reservations would have been totally confused on where to eat. We were seated promptly when we arrived. Our waitress Amanda was sweet and attentive. The food/wine and company were truly enjoyable. We each ordered something different and were very pleased with our choices. I would definitely return and recommend to anyone visiting the north End that does not already have a favorite restaurant!"

"We've been here for dinner many times, however, it is obvious that the food quality has gone down hill considerably. The only good thing we got out of our dinner was the wine. The shrimp in both dishes we ate was old and tasted aweful. I really loved this restaurant and recommended it to many of my friends. "Not really an all star meal, but there's nothing terrible about it either. The staff is very friendly, funny and seemingly authentically Italian. We went for a Valentine's day dinner, and the tables were pretty full, even later in the evening (After 8:00 pm). The place is a little larger than I expected from the outside, but is more modern and pretty clean. The menus seem a little bit older, but the food is reasonably priced, and tastes all right. I'd go back, but mostly only if somebody had a b'day dinner there or something."

"Food was very good - better than we expected. The broccoli rabe & white bean bruschetta sounds simple but was full of flavor and didn't OD on garlic and oil like most bruschettas. All the pasta dishes were excellent and seasoned very well - fusilli w broc rabe, gnocchi w marinara, shrimp scampi. But the service was the absolute highlight. Meal would not have been the same without Pru (Prudenza) - she is THE BEST. Full of personality, so attentive and made our night!"

"Took my husband to Artu for his Birthday. While we were seated right away, it took over 10 minutes before we had menus or any interaction with our server (who kept disappearing all night). The food was brought out in a timely fashion but was lousy. The calimari was overcooked and when my husband ordered the Chicken Parm, it looked as though the 'pasta sauce' was nothing more than tomato soup poured on top. The sauce and chicken had no spices whatsoever and was very bland.
Not a great experience and we will not be going back."

"Is about a 10 minute walk from Faneuil Hall, and very close to Mike's pastry (for landmark purposes). Very good selection of Italian specialties, both in pasta and non-pasta dishes. They also had a nice selection of mid priced($30-50) wines. Service was good, without hovering; although it was a bit noisy given the open floor plan. Dinner for 4 with cocktails, apps, bottle of wine, main course, coffee and tip was $200, which we felt was reasonable. Everyone in our party was pleased with the quality of their food. We would definitely return."

"Without a doubt on of the best restaurants in the North End. My wife and I have been there many times, this time with a group of friends and family and they were very impressed. Our server, Gia was awesome , she new how to pace the service at out table and was tremendously helpful in helping or first time guest select their dinner. We started with Art's fried calamari (the best around), lightly battered, golden brown accompanied by their excellent maranara sauce, we also had an order of the grilled vegetable antipasto. The grilled lamb chops are the best, I had the veal braciolettine , excellent and others at the table had seafood dishes and one of their signature dishes Orecchiette E Gamberi Broccoli Rabe !!!! Excellent!!!!"

"The food was HORRIBLE ~ I ordered a plate of grilled veggies that were cold, the roasted chicken chicken tasted like it had been cooked the previous day. Two of our party seemed happy with the pasta dishes but they don't have much for taste buds...
Overall I would definitely not return. Too many good restaurants in the neighborhood to return. The setting was lovely ~ seat right at the window. Our waitress was good."

"Great venue for a romantic date! The food and service was terrific! The reason I gave it 4 stars instead of 5, was due to the fact they did not offer a dessert menu. They do offer a limited dessert selection, however, it would have been nice to glance at something without having time to talk about it with your significant other, and making a selection on the spot. But great time, and will go again!"

"I went with my boyfriend for Valentines day and it was perfect. The food was delicious, the service was great and the wine was definitely the highlight of the night. If you go you must get a bottle of wine, it is worth it."

"My wife and I brought two out of town guests to Artu. We were seated promptly and had two appetizers with wine. Both apps were very good. Each of us had a different entre, including salmon, pork, chicken and all were great. Service was very good and temperature inside was perfect on a cold night. Overall a very good experience at one of our favorite places."

"Delicious old school Italian food. 6 people (3 generations) came on Saturday night. Our table was waiting for us and the service was terrific. We ordered pasta, fish and veal; all were great. I would come back here again with a group or just on a date. This is a great, laid back restaurant that is a lot of fun and very high quality."

"Food was excellent, as usual. However, the noise was overwhelming as we were seated upstairs of the bar on the left with two large parties of 10 celebrating birthdays on either side of my date and I. Service to the two of us was non-existent after we ordered and we felt ignored."

"My group had a reservation at 8 pm, but we were not seated until 9 because the group at our table was taking their time. We weren't told about the wait until I asked why we weren't seated around 830. The restaurant did not offer us drinks at the bar while we waited. They did give us a free app when we were seated, but we waited an hour (without complaining) and were not offered anything during that time. The food was great, but I'm not sure we would go back due to what I thought was bad customer service."
