"the wine that we wanted to order was not avallable. Dumont Pasta (macarani cheese gratin) is disappointig, too cramy but not tasteful enough. Service is good. There is not enough choice in the card."

"The food was disappointing. The Rhode Island stuffed clam (a starter) was over-cooked and thus not very tasty. Ditto for the ribs, which had a too-sweet sauce. And the artichokes in the salad had been burned and were too few in number. The hanger steak was OK, and the pasta dish was good, as most cream-based pastas are."

"The garden in the back is really cute, and makes the restaurant. Food was good, but the burger wasn't all that it's cracked up to be. I've read reviews that rave like it's the BURGER TO RULE THEM ALL but was just another regular ol' burger to me. Mac and cheese was really tasty. Prices are very reasonable."

"The restaurant is good , i sat in the back (garden) witch was very pleasant ... The service was very accurate, friendly , and good ... The food is not spectacular but very fair, very testy and correct...No mambo-jumbo presentations; good. Some very good beer on the menu; and good wine too. Overall very satisfactory ..."

"Maitre'D was sweet. For some reason my reservation didnt pop up but she sat me right away anyway. I love the back area but undortunitly I was right under a "crack" in the netted roof so I was pretty cold. The cheese plate was good. The hanger steak and chicken were both fine. The steak was cooked exactly how it should be. I liked the taste of the food better than the presentation, but thats how it should be!Love the DuMont but other than my company and the sweet busser and maitreD, this visit was just okay."

"This place is classic Williamsburg. Great food at a decent price. Servers were very attentive. The back patio area is absolutely amazing, the vibe was great, and the food was great. The only negative was the heat. They had outdoor heaters set up, one was right near us and I was literally sweating bullets by the end. I realize it was uncharacteristically warm, but there is no way a full dinning room with that much activity needed the heat on that high. Several people commented on how hot it was (I'm not sure if this was a tactic to turn tables or what-if so- it worked well.)"

"We had an overall excellent meal at DuMont. We had been to DuMont burger once before, but this was our first time at the real thing. Our feeling is that the highly touted burger is good, but certainly nothing to write home about. However, the DuMac and Cheese is among the best we (including our daughter) have ever had. More importantly, all the other dishes were excellent. My wife and I both had fish (she had Cod, I had Salmon) and both were delicious. Even our desserts were terrific: we had the daily special Gingerbread in a rum sauce (yum) and the kids gobbled up the Apple Crumble. The service was great, and the back room is really pretty. Overall lived up to expectations and highly recommended."

"DuMont food is always good, and the garden space in the back is a hidden gem, typical of Williamsburg. Bloody Mary did not seem to have much alcohol, but mini donuts for desert were delicious and a perfect "sharing" plate with friends."

"Four of us went to DuMont as our choice for brunch on Sunday, Feb 17th. Their signature burger was terrific, those who had the featured egg dish thought if was just OK. The doughnut holes, though included with the meal - nice gesture, were tough & tasteless. We're all doughnut lovers and didn't bother finishing the small portion offered. Only one dessert was available, gingerbread with whipped cream. We decided to go to another place for coffee and dessert."

"Service was excellent. Our appetizers were outstanding however the confit pork shoulder was a little dry. Was expecting a greasy(in a good way) moist piece of pork , as confit is usually cooked in fat slow and low , seemed as though it was deep fried afterwards rendering it crispy but dry."

Their menu usually has great options and I noticed a lot of great dishes were gone. That was disappointing. Their Bloody Mary is still great! Service was positive with the Host/Maitre D'. Server seemed to be distracted by thoughts, I often was the one trying to get her attention. I prefer wait staff that is alert and ready to provide hospitality or at least willing to come to work with a more professional demeanor. However her efforts to provide service were great once I got her attention, and was able to fulfill my requests timely."

"Found Dumont on Open Table search and really enjoyed it. The wait staff were friendly and efficient. The food was yummy and the ambience in the garden was lovely. The music was a little loud for conversation. I would recommend it and go back;)"
