BARcelona Tapas - Indianapolis
BARcelona Tapas prides itself on creating a traditional authentic Tapas Bar atmosphere. This includes a warm decor and the traditional hanging of Serrano hams and dried bacalaos. The service reflects a traditional tapas experience as you might find in Madrid, Barcelona or Sevilla. Small plates of food are prepared to order and delivered one or two at a time, as to encourage sharing of the plates and conversation together with great Sangria.
Barcelona Tapas Indianapolis is an open air restaurant when the weather is nice! Come and enjoy one of our two large patios or sit at the bar and enjoy a breeze through the restaurant on warm summer days.
We are also proud to support FC Barcelona! When at all possible we show the games with volume on. GO BARCA!

"This was my first time coming to Barcelona Tapas for brunch and I was very impressed with the selection of food and the price. The service from our waitress Lisa was great! The hostess working on Sunday morning didn't impress me much. I had to wait for her to finish sending a text before she seated us. It just bothers me to see people working and texting. I noticed her doing it much of my dining experience there as she was hiding her phone in the drawer at the hostess stand. I will be back again for brunch though!"

"We were first timers at BARcelona Tapas. The food was outstanding and the pricing reasonable. Wait staff was prompt, as was the food. Our waitress explained dishes and described the most popular dishes that we may want to try.

"We were seated quickly. The menu was a little confusing, as apparently it is made for sharing, but the portions are relatively small.
The items that are covered in sauce are *really* covered in sauce, a bit too much for my taste.
I had a sirlon steak, which was two small pieces on a small plate on a bed of spinich with a reduction and bleu cheese. As small as it was, it was excellent.
My friend and I shared the roasted potatoes, which we also very good.
My other friend had roated potatoes in sauce and meatballs in sauce, which was a *lot* of food.
This and two beers brought his bill to 35$.
We shared a plate of flan. Exquisite.
Service was fast and friendly.

"This is a great restaurant with a lively decor. On a nice day, multiple doors to their patio are kept open and diners get nice breezes and fresh air. Occasionally, the street traffic can be a little loud. Our favorite dishes are the cod cakes, fried artichokes, garlic bread and chicken skewers. This last visit we had the lamb which was perfectly cooked and served with two delicious sauces. The wine is well priced and they have a large number served by the glass. The only disappointment here was the mixed drinks. We tried a Mojoto which was much too sour even after they added extra sugar to it. I would highly recommend this place. Sampling many different dishes is so much fun. They are all so tasty!"

"I have been to this restaurant several times before, and have enjoyed it every time. I was excited to take my mom to the brunch buffet as a Mother's Day gift (we try a different buffet every year). I was blown away by the quality and selection of food at Barcelona Tapas. There were breakfast options like eggs Benedict and tres leche french toast, but also lunch options. The prime rib was a highlight. It was so tender. There was a fantastic array of charcuterie, and I barely had any dessert because I filled up so much on fresh mussels, shrimp, and calamari. The bloody Mary bar was also a really nice touch. It was a packed house and I am glad that I made reservations. My mom said it was her favorite holiday buffet thus far."

"We had a party of 7 for the Mother's Day brunch. The food offering was nice with a lot of different buffet options along with a couple of make to order dishes. Overall was pleased with the food, service and atmosphere. However, at $30 a plate for a brunch this was over priced. They did have free sangria with the meal so that helped but still over priced. Their normal Sunday brunch I believe is $16-17 which probably doesn't have as many options. I would not have baulked at $22-23 but $30 was definitely too much."

"I have been wanting to come for a long time and I'm glad I did! The only complaint I have is that I was unaware that on Sundays the only thing served was brunch and it was a bit more than I had anticipated price range wise. "I tried Barcelona Tapas for the first time last week. It was AMAZING! It was so much fun picking out a few tapas for all of us to share. Two of us got the Malbec which was perfect, and one of us ordered a yummy Margarita. The service was outstanding. "Was at dinner with friends to celebrate a new job. The waitress had not opened a bottle of cava before, and while that can be awkward, it became an opportunity to interact with the waitress and aded some fun. The tapas menu is ideal for a group to interact and share. The only "disappointment" was the very large desserts- seemed out of scale to the small plates- but was happy to take leftovers home. :)"

"If you like tapas, this is the place in Indy. They have a large assortment & our group tried about 7 or 8 different kinds. They were just the right size for everyone to try a bite. All of them were delicious! The chilled garlic potato salad was surprisingly like regular potato salad, just with more garlic & was a perfect side dish to all the meat dishes we ordered-the sausages, filet, tuna, beef kabob, serrano ham, & empanadas. We also had an order of the garlic bread that was very tasty.
I was hoping to try a caipirinha from the drink menu but they were out of simple syrup. It's easy to make so I think they could have tried a bit harder to make some up-we were there for 2 hours.

Started with the goat cheese & tomato sauce dip w/garlic bread and split the beef tenderloin in red wine w/blue cheese, spicy meatballs & the veggie paella. "Always on the lookout for great Spanish restos whenever we go out of town and this one did not disappoint. Had the crispy artichokes (first that I've tried), albondigas, and calamari which were fantastic. Also had the beef brochette and paella valencia which were ok. Did not like the bread pudding much but tres leches were yummy. Our server was also charming and attentive. Would probably be here often if I didn't live 2 hours away!"

"We went for Easter Brunch. At $25 per adult and $12 per child, my young son and I didn't get out for under $50 with tax and tip. The food was great as always, and selection was better than that of their regular brunch. But it was pricey for two light eaters like us. Some items weren't restocked, and the carving station was unmanned much of the time. Also, the servers should let people know where all the food is located as it was scattered around the place including in the bar, which we missed until much later. All in all, it was a nice Easter brunch but I think we'll keep it to a regular Sunday outing (for which they charge less) instead of holiday."

"Smaller delicious plates were just what we needed when we were dining at Barcelona last night. Food was great; garlic shrimp, broccolini, sautéed mushrooms, pan seared tuna with Rioja, chicken and chorizo sausage paella and my personal favorite baked Mac and Cheese! The Mac and Cheese is a bigger portion and perfect to share. I was with a group and we all had margaritas which was the drink special, but we will definitely come back for their pitchers of Sangria special on Wednesday. I love this fun place and our server was super nice...which is always a bonus!"

"We have been here several times and this time we tried a large assortment of dishes. The kitchen was very willing to adjust a couple of the items to fit our dietary restrictions. Some of our favorite dishes were the garlic bread, artichoke hearts, cod and potato cakes, chicken skewers. The only dish I was slightly disappointed in was the vegetarian paella. It had a slightly sour taste that I didn't care for. On past visits we have enjoyed the baked goats cheese in tomato sauce and the empanadas. I had a lovely glass of wine with my meal and for the amount of wine they served it was a great value.
This is a wonderful place with such an extensive menu there is something for everyone!"

"Service was very attentive and friendly. The restaurant was festive and casual. The food review is mixed. Lamb chops, asparagus, and meatballs were excellent. Garlic was too muted in dishes like the shrimp and the mushrooms. The paella was fine, but not great. It's nice to see something other than a steakhouse downtown."

"I liked it. In a city that does not offer as much variety in dining as other places I have lived, I am glad to see a new option. Accessible, relaxed, reasonably priced, and I particularly like the ability to order one or many dishes, so that light and heavy eaters in the same group can indulge as much or as little as they like. Everything tasted freshly cooked and hot.
Many of the dishes were rich -- would love to see fewer fried dishes and more vegetable combinations for those of us watching our cholesterol."

"The food couldn't have been any better. With each tapa came a different taste, and as more and more came out, it was unbelievable to know that every single thing out of that kitchen was going satisfy. "The food is spectacular and the service impeccable, even when the place is packed. I highly recommend Barcelona Tapas! The restaurant is set up for sharing dishes (think Buca di Beppo's style), but the plates are small enough that everyone can try a variety of foods. Speaking of variety, there are plenty of options for both me, a vegetarian, and my husband, an avid meat eater. I easily found multiple dishes to fit my diet. I only wish we wouldn't have forgotten out leftovers! We will definitely be going back. :)"
