"Outstanding, per usual. Eat here several times a year. Had lunch Sunday, right after they opened. Great conversation with staff - always helpful on beer choices. Love that they use local producers for food. Said we really liked the calamari but not breaded - he said no problem, they would grill it and they did. We love it done that way. Squash bisque (just pureed squash and herbs) was outstanding. The creme brulee for dessert is outstanding. It should be on everyone's list - however, don't! I want there to be a place for us and our friends! It can get busy and a bit noisy, but fact that it's an old bank there isn't much to absorb noise. Not annoying. Can you tell? We LIKE it!"

"Very nice atmosphere. Tomato bisque soup was excellent and spinach salad very good. Artic char was presented nicely and was very good. Fish special (trout) was good, but a cream sauce was poured over the top of the fish (which was not described as part of the special so was an unpleasant surprise) and seemed to take away from the flavor of the fish. Mushroom risotto served with the fish was delightful. Did not order dessert, but the offerings that passed by our table looked great. Drinks were good, but a tad overpriced. Service was very attentive until we ordered and then almost non-existent."

"The Bank is a gem in Wheaton. The food, beer list, and wine list are very good and a menu that has lots of surprises. The place is really big; so it can accomodate sitting at the bar catching a game, a louder area up front and on the patio, or quieter dining in the back.
They are also very accommodating of children (but I would suggest go earlier if you have kids in tow, as it seems couples go there for a romantic dinner and kids are kids.)"

"I'm sure The Bank is a fine restaurant on any ordinary day. We happened to pick Mother's day and the menu was very limited -- and very pricey. The menu claimed you got salad and soup with the entree, but in fact it was a misprint and you only got one. Also, we had to ask specially for bread/rolls. I just didn't think for the price that it was very classy. Also, we were put in the basement in a small room which again wasn't what we expected and was a big disappointment. So my review is that I would not recommend this restaurant on special holidays but would be willing to try it again when they were serving their normal menu."

"Food was good, not great. Originally tried to sit is in basement, which is dark and dreary. They had tables empty upstairs, so made them move us. This was a Mother's Day brunch....did not like that they included a 18% gratuity.
Had a nice experience otherwise."

"This is the third time we've dined at the Bank - an anniversary, Mother's Day and Easter. Each of those occasions has been an overwhelmingly positive experience. The food is first rate, the service exceptional and the dining room is just beautiful. Dining outdoors, on the deck, is fun too. Overall, highly recommend this local spot."

"The food was well prepared and the portion sizes were just right. We enjoyed the ambiance of the restaurant and never felt rushed yet our food seemed to always arrive at the right time. Our server was very friendly and helpful as we made our selections. "Second visit to The Bank. This was an early Saturday evening visit before the rush began. Didn't seem like they were ready for guests. Energetic waiter, unfortunately however he never told us about the specials for the day nor did we ever get bread. Only learned about these when a different waitress provided the specials and bread to an adjacent table. Good menu with lots of local meats and produce. Well prepared and served in an appropriate time. Nice selection of wine and beer but waiter didn't seem to know how to handle the drinks when a couple of our guests said they would defer on wine until they selected the main course.
Bottom line food was better than service."

"the food was great as well as the room we ate in. All types of attire seemed to fit. My wife and dressed casual, but there were others who dressed even more relaxed and there were even a few sport jackets in the crowd. Nobody seemed out of place. Also the bar had an excellent choice of spirits. Lots of Gin types i've never heard of before."

"Hmmm, not sure about this place. I try hard, but I can't get out of there with a reasonable bill. Had a salad and a beer for lunch, $19! Seriously! Luckily I had a coupon. A Groupon was available too, but decided to forgo that. Pretty good beer selection. Nice menu options, but I hate to say it, the menu prices align (ironically) with the name of the place...one ends up making some deposits at the Bank. Service was ok at best. I sat at the bar, b/c my available time was short. I was ready to go and the bartender disappeared. I had to call the host over to take care of my bill. That was a little annoying."

"Great space, convenient location, tons of potential - but sadly, with all the ambiance of a Ponderosa. Due in large part to the high ceilings (albeit a great architectural feature), the noise level in this place during peak periods is off the charts. Food and wine selections very nice, and if your server recommends a dish, I'd say go with it (I didn't, and was mildly disappointed in my choice). Have had a better experience here in the past (during a non-peak period), so I'll keep trying!"

"I had the Mexicali salad for lunch, which was really just a spinach salad with avocado. It was quite good, but nothing too special for $12. We also didn't receive any bread even though there were bread plates. The Bank is a nice, good ambiance restaurant. Unfortunately, it is nothing out of the ordinary when compared to others like a Pazzo’s or Vie, which I would consider a lunch time competitor. If you are in the area, try it out. If you are not in the area, don't make a special trip."

"Out of all of the restaurants available for Easter, I chose The Bank because their menu showed they had quiche, which is hard to find. But even though our appointment was fairly early in the day and even though they only had a limited menu of about 12 items, when I ordered the quiche, I was told they were "out of it". I find it irresponsible for a restaurant to feature an item on their special menu and then run out of it by 1:00 pm! Because of this, I find that I don't trust The Bank to be a restaurant that delivers on its promises!"

"First time diner, I was very happy with the food and the service. The food came quickly, I was dinng with someone who had many food restrictions, and they were easliy met without hesitation.
I was meeting my friend at 8:00 I arrived at 7:45 I gave the person at the podeum my friends name and said I would wait in the bar. My friend arrived about 5 minutes after I did but she had no idea I was there, she also gave the person at the podiem my name, and chose to be seated. It wasn't until 20 minutes later that we realized we were both there."

"The Bank has very nice ambiance and the food is very good. We went for dinner on a Thursday evening. The drinks we had before our meal were unremarkable. Not sure where the bartender got his training. Our server greeted us promptly and took our drink and dinner orders, then disappeared. We weren't asked if we wanted another drink (the answer would have been "No".) Nor were we asked if we enjoyed the meal. When we were finished with our meal we had to ask someone to track down our server for the check because we hadn't seen her since before our entrees arrived. Hopefully, this was an "off" night.
Excellent food--poor service. Have before-dinner drinks somewhere else."

"We went mid-week and were seated in a quiet nook of the restaurant near the front. Was perfect for our occasion. Looked like other areas of the restaurant could be a little noisier but we didn't experience that. We were also there in the winter so did not experience the patio dining, but it does exist. Food was very good, with fresh local ingredients. Service was excellent with waiter making good suggestions from beverages through entre. We enjoyed ourselves and will be back."

"Service was great; Steve (who looks a little like a young Jimmy Kimmel), was very attentive. The food, however, was disappointing. I chose the bison steak special. The steak was very tough and grisly, despite Steve saying that it was very lean. I was expecting more of a sirloin steak, but it was more like a cheap skirt steak. Way overpriced ($30) for the quality. My wife had the fried chicken. She was also disappointed with it-- thought the chicken would be fried breasts, but it was bone-in pieces of thigh, leg, etc. I tasted it and thought it had the taste of chicken that was fried in old frying oil.
Despite the disappointing meals, I'm willing to give it another try."

"The special beet salad lacked flavor and is was mostly lettuce. Halibut was extremely dry and could have used a nice sauce. Spinach served with halibut was overcooked as well. It was a very plain dish overall and the over-cooking made it uneatable. The beef stroganoff dish (also a special) was supposedly made with filet but either it wasn't filet or that was the stringiest filet we have ever had. The sauce had a kick to it and a strong tomato taste. It was definitely not traditional beef stroganoff. While the service was great, the food left something to be desired."

"Overall a good but not great experience. The pricing is higher than the quality of food warrants. I had the Bison steak, the most expensive item on the menu that night. Although it tasted good, it was tough and chewy, and didn't deserve the $38 price tag. I've had the similar experience on prior visits too."

"This was our first time at The Bank. Totally impressed upon walking in. Georgeous bar, sat and enjoyed a glass of wine while waiting for our table. Very professional bar service. Once to the table things started to go a bit downhill , although our server was wonderfull. The fondue appetizer wasn't really fondue as I know it. We both ordered the fish, not a great choice, it was dried out and not flakey. Perhaps prepared ahead of time and kept warm. Perhaps , this being valentines day and business was booming played a part in this. That being said, they deserve another chance, we will definitely go back and try again."

"I took my girlfriend there for Valenitine's Day and it great. They had a special menu that night for the occasion and everything looked great. We tried the fondue, the filet and the halibut. All were outstanding. I really enjoyed the ambiance even though it was packed and a little noiser than I wanted (but that was to be expected). The beer selection had great craft beers on tap and the wine list was well selected. I was really impressed by the service as the place was packed but everything ran very smoothly. Our server was helpful in the selections and everything was well timed. I thought all the prices were reasonable for the food and place. All in all a great time."

"My wife and I have heard many good things about The Bank and we were excited to try it out. Maybe we had it built up too much in our head's but we were disappointed with the experience. While the food was well prepared, we felt that the menu was a little unusual and we had trouble getting excited about the entrees. Neither of us felt like the food was worth the price. My recommendation would be to take a look at the menu (especially the entrees) before going there and make sure it looks appealing to you. On top of that, the service, while friendly, was slow."

"Our experience at The Bank Restaurant for Valentines dinner was superb. The food, atmosphere, and most of all the service was excellent. Our sever Matt was knowledgeable, polite and very personable which made our meal even more enjoyable...thanks Matt!. I highly recommend spending an evening in downtown Wheaton at The Bank for pleasurable dining experience."

"Amazing food, waitress was very helpful. She gave us details on each of the items we had questions on and encouraged us to try other items (which ended up being the best!) that we were not sure of.
