"We had a relaxing lunch on the patio. The crabcakes were wonderful and my Ahi Tuna salad was great too. I read about the truffle mayo and I asked for a side order to go with our french fries. They fries were awesome with the truffle mayo.
On another note, I made reservations for Del Frisco through Open Table - for 6:15 pm on 5/18 and when we arrived, they did not have our reservation. Can you please check on that since we were celebrating our Anniversary dinner there. They accomodated us but it would have been a disasterous anniversary had they not. They were also amazing. A wine list that you would not believe - took 2 hands to hold the list - it was that heavy. The atmosphere was beautiful and fun.

"Quality ingredients + creative cooking = inspired and tastey dishes worth every penny. This is not an inexpensive restaurant, so for many it is only for special occasions, but it's not to be missed! We were there for Mother's Day and it was crowded for dinner, but the food was still outstanding. I was just disappointed they didn't do something extra for the woman ...a flower when leaving, a special amuse bouche, something ... besides wishing a happy Mother's Day."

"Server was aware of everything. Not overbearing, but one step ahead whenever we needed something.
Went with 8 family members. Everyone's food was good. A couple people had the bone-in steak and said it was the best they'd ever had. Braised rib tips were excellent.

"Let me say...Topaz was a pleasant surprise. The service was very fast, very attentive, and very courteous. I did not have to ask for anything, the wait staff refreshed my water before my glass was empty (empty water glasses have been an epidemic at many other restaurants), brought bread, cleaned the table of crumbs quickly and politely, changed silverware with every appetizer and entree, cleared plates with aplomb and were very nice. I recommend the Scallops, chocolate beignets, filet mignon cooked medium rare, fried sprouts (strong aftertatste but delicious) and tuna tartare. Valet parking is $5. There is free parking nearby (a half block) in the shopping center parking garage. Nice outdoor dining during nice weather."

"I really wanted to like Topaz; maybe this was just an off night. Off nights happen to everyone. Anyway, here goes. We get there at 7:45. Our reservation was for 8. We knew we would have to wait, but we didn't expect our reservation to not be honored until 8:20. We order the Lobster Bisque, but the waitress (in her words) forgot to bring it. Not good. I ordered the Grilled Atlantic Salmon with a side of Lobster mac and cheese, and my lady ordered the Double Cut Pork Chop. Both were good, although it did take a while to get there. The problem is that Eddie Merlot's restaurant, which we have been to, is right down the street, and they blew us away. We may give Topaz another chance, but they are not as good as Eddie Merlot's."

"Topaz is a gem hidden among a high-end strip mall. The food is creative, portioned appropriately and delicious. The service rivals the best with great touches such as: black napkins given when wearing dark clothes, "crumbing" the white tablecloth, super fast and efficient table clearing after each course, and a server that is always there when you need them but not hovering. The manager/owner (not sure which he was)came to check on us no less than 3 times on a busy Saturday night. The prices are expensive but it was a memorable and enjoyable experience. My wife was thrilled to find it's located directly across from the famous Kohler Spa - next time will be massages and then lunch with her friends."

"This was our first visit to Topaz. What a beautiful place situated in downtown Burr Ridge. The ambiance is inviting and beautifully done. The waiter explained the menu and gave us his recommendations. We both had seafood which was prepared well and tasty. We liked the three types of fresh bread that are offered with the meal. We had a table in the middle of the room, and although crowded, we were able to talk without shouting. We plan to make another trip in a month or so."

For a Lenten Friday, we enjoyed meatless entrees with delectable taste - Alaskan Halibut & the Porcini Ravioli. Beignets for dessert were sinful! "We had a group of nine women ... need I say more. All of us were so impressed with the service ... our waiter was outstanding. They were so accommodating and we ended up in a private dining room which was just beautiful. I have had lunch at Topaz since they opened the restaurant and this is the first time I had dinner and was so impressed. I would highly recommend Topaz to anyone."

"We were celebrating a birthday & really enjoyed ourselves. We had a great waiter Fabian who answered our questions & gave his opinion when asked between choices. 2 of us had the fluke special which was fabulous & 1 had the whitefish which she really enjoyed. The butternut squash chowder was out of this world & my friends had the beet salad that was fablous. Fabian brought a dessert for the birthday girl & gave us a complimentery glass of Lemoncello. This is a place we will remember & tell our friends about. Service was never lacking & we were never wanting for water. Great find in the western suburbs. Would definitely go back."

"Went to Topaz for the first time for Valentines day. Have been to Amber, their sister restaurant, many times before and have always been very satisfied so was expecting a similar experience. First impression of the decor was that it was very polished and sophisticated if not slightly austere. Service was fine but not overly attentive ( which I do not require). It was a limited menu for Valentines so the selections were fairly basic and not overly creative. My first course of Onion tart and second of lobster bisque were good but not memorable and rather tepid. Main course of duck breast tasty but portion was very small. Overall Topaz was not bad but the price was astronomical for the burbs..$220 for 2 with 2 martinis and 2 glasses of wine."

"We were a party of four, dining at the restaurant for the first time. The restaurant is pleasing to the eye, but we were seated in a small back room with four tables. I would have preferred the main seating area. I do not know if it was the back room location but the service initially was very slow. We had to wait before anyone came around to get our drink order and then when we finally got our drinks, we sat for about one hour before anyone took our orders for appetizer/salad. The wait time was less for the main entrees. The food, however, was very good and we do plan to return to the restaurant for more fine dining, and hopefully, better service."

"Everything I had was delicious, both food & drinks! The service was terrific. Only reason I gave it 4 vs. 5 stars is that the entree menu was not completely my taste. I like more diverse ethnic foods. However, I ordered two appetizers (Ahi & Grilled Calamari) rather than entrees & they were absolutely fabulous. The Midnight in Paris Martini was also outstanding.
Great place! I would definately recommend it!"
