Capturing the cosmopolitan ethose of Los Angeles, Culina, Modern Italian presents a lively neighborhood gathering spot where sophisticated cuisine and levity join hands. Culina, from the Latin word for "kitchen" showcases the intersection of traditional and modern Italian cuisine with a menu guided by exceptional ingredients. Guests can linger over small plates and wine or settle in for a night of superior dining in the garden. The menu features Los Angeles' only crudo bar with the finest selections of hand prepared raw seafood, as well as homemade pastas, pizzas, the freshest Burrata and salami, and authentic entrees. Our wine program offers approximately 200 wines, most available by carafe, from Italy and the rest of the world, with a range of unique aperitifs and cocktails. Culina provides the perfect atmosphere to see and be seen!

"We recently dined at Culina. The last time we dined there was a couple of months ago and their mushroom pasta was to die for. It was no longer on the menu and I'm not sure if the chef is the same as the food was average compared to the many times before where it was exceptional. If it is the same chef please bring back some of the old items on the menu. Service was outstanding."

"Food: rib eye steak was a bit grisly & that's my only complaint. appetizers were to die for - arancini is a must try item & so is Ricciola (sp?). food overall was good. Service deserves more than 5 stars. "michael" was our waiter & while very attentive, seemed to know exactly when to approach the table. definitely is a keeper & i'll recommend to others."

"The food here was excellent; we had the scallops and polenta, and the fig reduction alone was stunning. Scallops done perfectly. My wife had the lamb ragu over gnocchi and was knocked out; I had the lasagna and was delighted.
Great food will give you a name, but you go back for service. This place was ridiculously brilliant. Our waiter, Michael, was attentive and engaging but not intrusive. If we mentioned anything - asked Michael for coffee, for example - within a minute a separate person would step up to follow through. (So within 1 minute of Michael saying yes and leaving to get coffee, some how a bus boy stepped up with a platter with cream and sugar and asked if we wanted that with our coffee. If felt like a magic trick)."

"I love being in this restaurant with it's understated elegance. The food is interesting and good and usually the service is, too. This time the waiter brought the wrong dessert, forgot the cream for the coffee and had to constantly be asked for more water. He did correct his dessert error but he could have been much better. I would still go back because everything else is so good."

"I loved Culina. The wine selection is amazing and the generosity and education that comes with each glass is unusual due to the wine master. The food was absolutely delicious. Every morsel was delectable. The chopped salad, which for me brings up visions of iceberg lettuce, was outrageous..savory and sweet in each mouthful and chopped to perfection. The octopus was tender and sublime, served on a bed of harissa and garbonzo beans. The veal milanese, lamb chops, ...and the brussel sprout were also prepared as they should be. And the brussels sprouts, all I can say is have some."

"Music's a little loud for my taste--asked our server if it could be lowered and she told us that it's hard-set at one volume because the owner wants it that way. Odd response, I thought, and even odder policy. Food is amazing, service is superb, so the only negative last night was a too-loud dining room because of the canned music."

"We ordered from the DineLA menu and felt like we were treated like second-class citizens as a result, even though $45/person is not cheap and we did order several drinks. Portions were ridiculously small. Service left much to be desired. We had to beg for more water, more bread. Also waited way too long between courses. We would never go back after this experience."

"I went here for Dine LA and was extremely impressed with the food. The cioppino was very good, the porcini tagliatelle was absolutely phenomenal, the scallops nestled in lobster risotto also very good, and the tiramisu yummy. I cannot say enough about how good the tagliatlle was (it's homemade)! It's crazy how good it was. We were so disappointed to find out that it's not on the regular menu. I'll have to go back to try their other homemade pastas. Also the cocktails were uncommonly good with unique flavor mixtures - I highly reccomend the Picasso's Pear. The ambiance is lovely, very high end. You can park a couple blocks away if you don't wanna valet at the Four Seasons."

"Our first visit to this beautiful Italian restaurant in The Four Seasons Hotel, and we enjoyed our DineLA dinner. I had a seafood soup, rigatoni with sausage, scallops with a risotto, and for dessert a very fine rice pudding with berries. Everything was excellent, and we plan to return for lunch or dinner. There is a very nice patio, but it was a little chilly for us to sit outside; it would be great on a warm evening."

"The food is lovely. The service staff friendly but not obsequious. The menu has flavors from Italy with other Mediteranean influences. Sitting in the garden in the evening is magical with the stunning fires of heat maps and fires over the fountain. It is a great touch that you can order house win in 6 ounces or 12 ounces which allows you to share many ways.
We suggeest that the piped in music in the garden be lowed since one of the reasons people choose that area is to have peace and quiet and conversation."
