"This was a delightful Mother's Day brunch spot with a nice variety of cold appetizers, salads, and warm entrees. It is a small location but they did a good job maximizing space and flow. I would definitely return and sample their regular menu as the brunch was very good."

"Honored the reservation at a prime time on Saturday night. Seated us immediately. Wonderful server, attentive, knowledgable, made great suggestions without being pushy. Food was outstanding - party of four had halibut special, beef short rib, gnocchi, and special risotto. Crab cake appetizer was delicious. Prices were more than reasonable. Wine was excellent, but a little bit pricey. Room was loud and made conversations challenging. They did not rush us in any way. We were there almost 2 1/2 hours and never once felt like they wanted us to leave. On the contrary, made us feel most welcome and paced our meal nicely. Would go back in an instant."

"While we don't visit Amber nearly enough I can say that when we do make time to dine at Bronko's fine restaurant we are never disappointed. It was a wet and cold Tuesday evening for this particular visit & consequently the level of activity at the restaurant was very light. This translated into impeccable service (which is always the case even when packed to the gills)and the food was, as always, fantastic. I had carpaccio to start followed by the braised short rib risotto along with a couple of glasses of a fine Meritage. My lovely bride had the beet & goat cheese salad with a substitute of spinach over arugula followed by veal tenderloin along with a couple of pomegranate martini's. On a scale of 1-10 Amber is a 17!"

"This was our first trip to Amber Cafe. The restaurant is located in downtown Westmont. It is a cozy, warm room that is welcoming. This restaurant is managed by the same group that manages Topaz in Burr Ridge. The menu is different but the three kinds of fresh bread that comes with the meal is similar to the bread at Topaz. The food was good as was the service. We liked Amber Cafe but didn't find anything remarkable about it as we did with Topaz."

"We have been to Amber twice and both experiences have been outstanding. The wait staff is knowledgable and attentive. The food is always well prepared with fresh ingredients. They have a well appointed wine list. It is the perfect date night, neighborhood find."

"Amber has an interesting menu and the food is really terrific. I had a risotto with short ribs and spinach and was worried that it would be heavy but despite the rich ingredients it was very light and delicious. I also had the roasted beet salad with goat cheese - amazing. Just be aware that everything is a la carte and while entrees are reasonably priced, salads, appetizers and drinks can really add up!
But for food and an intimate atmosphere, I highly recommend Amber!"

"Recently we rediscovered Amber Cafe. Loved the crabcakes, carpaccio and several versions of shortribs our famiy has ordered. Always good service, great to have a consistently solid and elegant choice for dinner in the Western suburbs."

"This was our second visit to Amber. Last time was more than a year ago. Possibly two. We'd had an awesome experience on our first visit and we'd meant to return sooner, but somehow never made that happen. Our waiter last time was fabulous. This time we had a different one who seemed distracted. Our drinks were slow in coming. Our appetizer never showed. He returned to our table to tell me that my choice of entree was no longer available (not his fault, I know). Anyway, despite all that, we had a lovely time, and the food we ended up with (scallops for my husband, whitefish for me) was superb. We were happy to be at a table for 4 even though there were only 2 of us. We'll go back, but will definitely ask for our first waiter next time."

"Food was wonderful and presented very well. However, I had ordered the sea bass which was loaded with bones. The owner came to our table to check on us and immediately replaced the dish with a new plate of fish that was excellent. Probably just a piece that was cut wrong and really no big deal once the plate was replaced. Lovely, romantic atmosphere, however, drafty in the winter when the door opens. A curtain to block the draft may be helpful. Of course that may be against fire regulations.
Looking forward to returning to experience the outdoor atmosphere this summer.
Thank you for a wonderful Valentine's Day experience."

"Amber has been our favorite special occasion restaurant since it opened. A very unexpected upscale experience in the suburbs that rivals any downtown restaurant. Delicious!"

"We went to Amber cafe for my wife's birthday. It was one of the best dining experiences we have had in a long time. It was a quiet Tuesday evening, refreshing to be at a quaint smaller restaurant vs the busy downtown Naperville restaurants. Every course was terrific. The scallops with chorizo and roasted corn was a great way to start our meal. My wife had the mahi special and I had the house specialty, veal tenderloin. Both were terrific. Finally, unprompted, our waiter brought out a special dessert for my wife's birthday. My wife commented that it was the best dessert she has ever had. Amber Cafe is a great getaway in small downtown Westmont."

"Our food was great, however the service was very slow and unattentive. I expected the same level of food and service as I got at sister restaurant Topaz and Amber didn't deliver. When I travel to the burbs and pay city prices that I expect city level service. The waiter was cute, but needs another day job. Also, while the night was very cold, the restaurant temperature varied from hot to freezing."

"Amber always delivers! The food is always prepared in a unique and tasteful manner. The prices are reasonable for the portion size and elements of the meal. This time my husband and I both ordered red meat and both meals were outstanding. Finally, the wine list, while not extensive, always has a few gems for a reasonable price. We had a bottle of Chapellet Cervantes and it was a perfect accompaniment to our meal."
