"We had a party of 8 to celebrate my mom's birthday. Originally we planned to bring a cake, then changed our mind, but the staff still brought my mom a nice little dish of ice cream to celebrate (without the whole staff making a ruckus and singing to her) The food was excellent, with a variety for all. The service was prompt, and present without overbearing. We love the atmosphere as well."

"The service and food was very good. Also a very nice selection. The one thing that could be improved on is that I felt rushed through my salad due to the speed that the main entre was served. A fine dining experience should not be rushed. It should be paced so that the customer has a nice, relaxing experience."

"Four of us visited the Welshfield Inn for this Thursday evening special. One couple decided to order from the regular menu because they didn't feel hungry enough for appetizers and dinner which was included in the price. May husband and I stuck with the lsmaller menu for this special pricing. We were not disappointed with the selection or our choices. My Panko crusted stuffed talapia with lobster sauce, asparagus and rice medley was beyond delicious and my husband raved about his chicken pot pie. Portions were large, dinner rolls were great, the whole evening was very, very pleasant. The Inn wasn't crowded making for a relaxed and most enjoyable evening.."

"I've been to Welshfield Inn for many occasions-a wedding, anniversary party, wine tastings & just for a bite. I've never been disappointed. There's always great service, friendly people and it's in my own back yard. In Eastern Geauga County, there aren't any other restaurants of this caliber, so it's nice to always have Welshfield there to catch a bite.
I'd highly recommend it to anyone."

"This is our "go to" restaurant, the food and service are consistently good. The weekly specials - $5 Burger Mondays, $40 dinner for 2 with wine on Thursday, early bird specials and Friday Fish Fry's add value. We frequently choose to eat on the patio when weather permits. This visit we were in the garden room which become a bit too noisy for easy conversation."

"The food was excellent, gourmet cooking but with hearty portions, unlike some other fine dining restaurants. We had the scampies and medallion of filet mignon in the Chardonnay cream sauce and the sea scallops on risotto - both were delicious and cooked to perfection! The calimari were rather salty but perhaps that is because we don't eat a lot of salt usually, and the chopped salads were full of ingredients chopped very small. The waitress could not have been friendlier and she gave excellent service, it was not her fault some other table was given our starter. We did have to wait a long time for the starter, a snafu on a busy evening."

"Great comfort food menu, but pricy! Not worth the drive unless you are a local. Foodies should not expect a good exerience, nor should they order the specialty items. They applied the same sauce on both my shrimp and grits as the scampies with tenderloin (tender but tasteless). The cheesy grits in a sherry sauce contined neither cheese(just butter)nor sherry. The main course was advertised as a minced jalepno, chardonnay-cream sauce. Both sauces were just the same bland, butter bombs. The faux scampies were actually (only three)20-25/# count shrimp. (Does the restaurant perpetuate this fraud on a regular basis?)Wine is very overpriced, even by Ohio rest. standards of 3X wholesale or 2X retail pricing. Service was attentative and friendly."

"wonderful meal... great service... first time there after driving by there over the many years on the way to Cleveland. What a nice halfway stop to Cleveland! A nice little gem you have there. Love all the specials and the long island iced teas were excellent and at a great price of $4! we will surely return. love the on line reservation service as well."

"duck was fabulous, steak and scampies fabulous and appitizers were great. Really the best food Ive had so far in cleveland and Ive tried alot of places. Worth the money despite the steak being very small for the price, just glad I had appitizers before dinner."

"Quaint, lovely since remodeling. Food was very good; I'd call them comfort food specialists. Price quite reasonable. Service was great, friendly and timely. The place was packed on Friday night and yet we were treated great. The manager checked on us, and as we were leaving invited us back while describing upcoming specials."

"Great country place to escape to on a cold winter day. Our waitress was very good - attentive without being pushy. The food was very good and the menu had plenty of options for us. We will be back. We dined at lunch on Valentine's Day. A little surprised that there was nothing special for the holiday. Even a sign at the door, or a dessert special (something to share) would have been an acknowledgement that it was a holiday. Great place and we will definitely be back soon!"

"Really enjoyed our visit here. We went for the 2fer Thursday and thought it was a great deal. Food was delicious. Even had entertainment! The ambiance was lovely, a fire and dimly lit. Beautiful building. Would recommend it to others and will go again when we can dine outside!"

"We live locally and have dined here over many years. We like the changes that have occurred and appreciate the care taken to preserve this historic building. The ambiance is wonderful. Our waitress was exceptional. She was particularly good with our granddaughters. The food was very good but the corn dogs were over cooked. The prime rib was wonderful and the two older girls tried it for the first time and loved it - much better than a corn dog and a hamburger. We love the fact that the menu has both conventional as well as different and innovative selections.

All restaurant staff encountered were warm & welcoming."
