Auberge du Soleil
Auberge du Soleil Restaurant began in 1981 nestled on 33 acres overlooking the lush vines of the Napa Valley. The cuisine has evolved with a wine country theme where innovative menus inspired by the bounty of the vine are paired with food in ways that delight and inspire longtime devotees. The Bistro & Bar is ideal for sipping wine at sunset on the terrace, a casual meal al fresco, or a nightcap by the fireplace. The Restaurant presents luxury at its finest while overlooking some of Napa's most renowned vineyards. Offering more that 40 of the Valley’s finest wines by the glass and boasting a cellar of nearly 17,000 wines, our guests can enjoy a full sensory experience of the California wine country.

"If there was anything more lovely than the presentation of the food on the place, it was the view over the valley in the late afternoon. The food was excellent and wine options extensive. Not sure why there aren't more local options on the wine list which seems about 50% non-US in the best wine area of the country."

"Took my husband there for his birthday. The lady who sat us was not friendly at all. Food was good, waitress was somewhat aggressive. Overall good experience, but when we went to ask to see the hotel for a future stay, the girl was incredibly rude and said we couldn't look at the property at night and would have to come back another time. We were so turned off by her rudeness, that we took it off our list and regret giving the restaurant several hundred dollars for dinner. Oh well...lesson learned. In Napa, there are so many places to choose from, I would look elsewhere to get a friendly and less snooty experience."

"Auberge du Soliel produces creative faire in a senic location overlooking the Napa Valley. The service is friendly and knowledgible; but at $150 to $200 per person (including tip), the restaurant is over priced. We do not mind paying for a superior dinning experience, and have done so happily on many occassions. However, with respect to Auberge du Soliel, we have had better food for half the price."

"Amazing view. Excellent brunch menu. The bloody mary was one of the best I've ever had. My wife loved her asparagus soup with dungeness crab and the duck confit hash. I really enjoyed the onion tartelette with smoked salmon and creme fraiche. My kurobuta pork chop with sunchokes was tender and flavorful. The staff was very polite and attentive. Reserve ahead of time and request outdoor seating on their covered patio to fully enjoy the vista.
If not for us having eaten lunch at The French Laundry the day prior, this may have been a 5-star review. Quite honestly, it was a 4.5 star experience. We'd definitely come back!"

"Our party of six returned to celebrate a January birthday because my sister (and all of us) loved it so much last year. Luckily, sunny weather again enabled us to enjoy dining on the lovely veranda with a spectacular view of the valley. The lobster risotto was amazing, and the special Auberge torte au chocolat made a charming birthday cake. It really was a perfect celebration, with excellent service, beautiful surroundings and delicious choices, even for our one vegetarian. We won't wait a year to return!"

"Food was highly disappointing and waiter seemed disintrested and rarely stopped to check during the course of the meal, although the food runners were fantastic at presenting the dishes. Ate outside on the patio which had a fantastic view, but mosquitos were everywhere, even landing in our wine. When this was brought to the waiter's attention, she did replace the wine, but with no apology or offer to reseat inside (which was empty). For some reason was only 4 or 5 small tables all night during prime time."

"I want to thank the entire staff of Auberge du Soleil for an amazing dining experience and a very special birthday memory for my husband. My husband didn't want to do anything special for his 74th birthday so I decided to suprise him with lunch for just the two of us at Auberge. I expected a nice experience but what we got instead was a wonderful memory. The entire staff treated my husband like a king and his every request was met with a smile and but of course. "Just had a wonderful experience at this fine restaurant last Friday. It's in an absolutely gorgeous setting, that along with the perfect weather made our outdoor dining experience amazing. The gist of the menu is that you can order a 3,4,or 5 course chef's menu..there is no a la carte. My wife and I decided to order one 3 and one 4 course, splitting the extra among us. We enjoyed everything we ate, though my steak was a little tough...cooked beautifully, but it couldn't save the texture of the cut they served me. We also had poached lobster and hamachi (amazing). Cheese plate was a nice selection, but if you like chocolate, then you have to eat the dumplings.."

"This was a reunion for my friend and I after 20+ years. Wait staff was helpful, efficient, and friendly. View is spectacular! Food interesting, not just typical. Had we ordered the fixed price menu it would have been very good value. Everything was great, just expensive . . . but worth it. We stayed for about two hours and were never rushed by anyone (of course it was a Monday, so they were not crowded.

"Seated on the patio at sunset overlooking Rutherford (in the Napa Valley) what could be more relaxing and romantic? Don't fret about the price because the menu is very interesting and the food just as good. Although the waitress came off somewhat aloof, she wasn't intrusive and kept the meal at the right pace for a truly enjoyable evening."

"We had the most romantic lunch here during our visit to Napa. We were recommended to come to this place from a family member and knew it was a "do-not-miss!" We were not disappointed and were actually surprised that it was packed when we arrived. The premises are very luxurious and I recommend not wearing shorts and sneakers when visiting the restaurant."

"It was our 5 year anniversary napa trip. We booked Sunday branch on the way toward to Calistoga. The chef in fact our read my note from Open Table reservation system and surprise us with "Congratulations for 5 year anniversary" decoration on our dessert plats. What a nice gestures!"

"Dining at Auberge du Soleil is an experience. The food is memorable, as are the wine prices. A keeper for a special occasion. Recently, it seemed that some wait staff was new and might need a bit more training. Our more seasoned waiter from last May still remembered us and came by to say hello. Tough act to follow!"
