Fleet Landing Restaurant & Bar is Charleston's Best Waterfront Dining with a focus on local and sustainable produce and seafood. Housed in a 1940s retired naval building on the east side of the Charleston peninsula, Fleet Landing features Chef Drew Hedlund's fusion of classic and contemporary Southern seafood fare in a setting that celebrates the area's waterfront heritage. "Dined at Fleet for lunch Monday May 13, 2013. Fried oyster platter was the best I've had. Oysters were large and not over-seasoned. Fleet Signature Angus Burger was terrific with pimento cheese and smoked bacon topping. Shrimp-n-grits was superb. Shrimp are local, not frozen overseas variety. We dined on the outside deck, and the view was terrific. Service was excellent. We toured around town and returned to Fleet Landing again for dinner. Again, our dining experience was first rate."

"Our cats wanted their mother to have a great Sunday dinner and Fleet Landing provided it. Excellent local oysters on the half shell, fried shrimp and seared flash fried flounder with apricot glaze finishing with the best pecan pie ever. The flounder with the sweet glaze was perfect for my taste.
The outdoor seating overlooking the water can not be beat for the view of Charleston harbor and Fort Sumter. The restaurant is a restored WW2 navy building and pier that extends over the tidal area and is one of the few eating establishments on the water on the Charleston side of the harbor. A must for lunch or dinner while wandering the market area."

"My friend and I enjoyed our time at Fleet Landing. I wouldn't actually say I have a complaint, but I will admit that I was surprised by the amount of pasta salad I received with my sandwich . It was really small, especially compared to the amount of french fries my friend received with her sandwich. Even though I enjoyed the pasta, I'll be ordering a different side next time. I will say what I had was good and I will order the sandiwhc again. I just will pick a different side... more than likely the fries as I am guessing the other sides will served in the small bowl that the pasta salad was.
Also, the noise level was a little loud. You really had to raise your voice to be heard at times."

"This restaurant is not what it used to be! We ordered a salad and our food came out before the salad so we told the waitress to forget it. I ordered shrimp and grits which I have gotten before and it was not very good. In the past, this has been a good dish but the sauce on it was heavy and tasted like packaged gravy. Perhaps there has been a change in this dish, but it is not good! Very disappointing dinner overall!"

"We were greeted by very nice server as we entered restuarant. Our waiter was friendly and knowledgable. His recommendations were perfect and service was great; until he was distracted by 2 women at table. He spent more time flirting than taking care of other tables. Being outside was very romantic. "Had dinner here on our last night in Charleston. A gray day turned into a beautiful evening, and we were able to sit outside and enjoy the beautiful water views. All four of us had different entrees, and each one was prepared perfectly and was delicious. Service was pleasant and accommodating. Overall it was a most enjoyable evening. "A fantastic crab cake was our reason for returning. It was worth the stop even with the loud obnoxious foursome at the table right next to us. Dining on the deck is very nice even in January. This latest stop was at the end of March 2013. We were on our way back to CT from FL and rerouted to Charleston just to enjoy the crab cake. How about that for an endorsement."

"Good food, good prices, and nice spot for viewing the harbor. Good for kids mainly because of the noise level. If your kid cried, few would hear him on the other side of the restaurant. Between the bar, the cement ceilings, and the open atmosphere, there is a good deal of activity. Not too much mind you, but not a quiet romantic spot either. Outside is good if you want a quieter environment. Our server was pretty slow on the uptake, but maybe he was getting tired, it was very busy."

"Fleet Landing is a perfect spot for a lovely lunch or dinner. Great ambience, nice natural lighting and a water view. Food is always excellent. Attentive yet unobtrusive servers make dining natural and fun. Whether we are celebrating with grandchildren or we and our children are entertaining friends, Fleet Landing is at the top of our list."

The restaurant was crowded but the crowd was happy and vivacious leading to a most enjoyable atmosphere. Our group had a great time. Definitely worth a return trip."
