"I saw every single staff member shoving their faces with food near the kitchen, even if they were on the clock. It was so distracting and I was watching to see if they were washing their hands after they ate, but no. They just went right back to their customers and tables to handle food, drinks, etc. One girl chatting up in the back while eating peanuts, then grabbed a cocktail from the service bar mixing the drink with the straw- holding the tip of the straw, without washing her hands.
Second thing was our server: He HAD to be new, or at least I hope he was new because otherwise there is no excuse for how nervous he was. Dropping things, forgetting things, sweating, not knowing the menu, and making up answers to questions."

"We went to celebrate a birthday and we are glad we did. Dinner was excellent. Our server was great- jovial and attentive. The live Sinatra style music was fun. and not so loud we couldn't speak to each other. It is a bit pricey but not at all pretentious. We really enjoyed the night."

"Located in quaint Hyde Park, I had high hopes for this little gem that resides where the Legendary Cactus Club entertained us for years. Upon entering, the ambiance is great. From there its all so bland. Waitress was supper pushy. Food came out relatively quickly. Portions were large. Presentation was great. Taste was so BLAND. Had the Chicken Marsala. Tasted like nothing.
Linguini fra diavlo, not even a hint of spice. Scallops, were just plain scallops. The most tasty thing was the garlic mashed potatoes and they could have used more garlic.

"We had lunch at Timpano several years ago and recalled it as good but not outstanding. We shop, and eat at other restaurants in Hyde Park from time to time and decided to try Timpano for dinner. We were very glad we did! The sea scallop entree was excellent, as was the roasted salmon. Everything was prepared and presented well, and served hot. We had a great outside table and the service was excellent - not pushy, but informed and well-paced. We will definitely be back for dinner....and will likely give lunch another try after this experience."

"The hosts/servers were thoughtful. I was impressed on the notes they took of our situation w/ my husband coming home from the military for our wedding anniversary, all the staff knew about us when we walked in and thanking him for his service, that meant so much. Our server also brought a piece of chocolate cake with strawberries stating happy anniversary which was an unexpected pleasant surprise. On a sad note, my husband ordered Chicken Marsala, it was a dry, thin, small piece of chicken & sauce not including a veggie or pasta, had to order that separately & not the best we've had considering a restaurant of this stature, but my blue oysters were delicious. I'd still recommend Timpano for it's beautiful setting, location, music & staff."

"We arrived right on schedule and were promptly seated. We shared a house salad for an appetizer. It was a very Mediterranean salad with a light vinaigrette dressing olives and blue cheese. The cocktails were excellent. My friend had the salmon and I the petite fillet. Both beautifully prepared and plated. The steak was ala carte so I also have the asperagus which were beautifully grilled.
I had been to the Timpano's in Ft Lauderdale and this was very similar."

"What a disappointment one of our favorite restaurants was this time. The menu has changed, we received one old menu one updated. When I asked the server he said yes that happens sometimes and then left us with two disagreeing menus. We gave a drink order but the server got lost.
I finally asked to order food.The new item replacing the old favorite was terrible, tasteless and low-quality. It sat in front of me for 20 minutes because the server never came back to check how our food was. After a while I went looking for the hostess then went looking for a manager. He was extremely apologetic and helpful, taking over for the server but the food was awful. I had it packed and threw it in a trash can outside we felt so sorry for the guy."

"We were visiting Tampa and we took our son and his girlfriend there on their recommendation. We were not disappointed. I had the filet with the bourbon peppercorn sauce and it was amazing. One of the best steaks I have had in months. The restaurant was a little noisy due to several large parties having a good time, but the service was great. Next time I will choose to sit outdoors. It will probably be quieter."

"I frequent this location/spot with my loved one and also business clients over the last 2 years i've been in Tampa. I've never had a issue with the food, service, ambiance, etc. until this past occasion. The waitress was very rude, unemotional and forgetful. She made us feel as if we were not important or wanted there by her demeanor towards us. She did not perk up until we paid for the check of course. Again, i've never left a bad review for this location but felt very strongly around this past treatment that I must respond. Great food, I still highly recommend it and would just avoid this particular waitress area if you want a good dining experience."

"We had great service and excellent food. However, we had to leave before we wanted to because the multiple parties at large tables around us and the subsequent noise level made it impossible to have a conversation. I know those are great for business, especially on a Saturday night. But we probably will select a different night (week night) for dining with you."

"For a romantic evening there is no other place-Ambience, great food, fantastic wine list and plenty of cocktails! Service is attentive without going overboard or feeling like you're being watched. All in all, a great place that is not well known by many "Tampanian's". The valet service is terrible, but we understand it's subcontracted out."

"My wife and I had an enjoyable evening. The food was very good, the mussels were the best we've had, and the service was excellent. Everything we ordered got to our table on time. I was slightly surprised how noisy it was until I realize we came during the happy hour and bar was crowed with people. I didn't realize that or we may have gotten a table outside. Nevertheless, Timpano's has made our favorite list and we will be back."

"The food is very good as is the service. It gets very loud there, especially on a weekend evening, making it difficult to talk to people across the booth from you. There was also a jazz type band playing on my last visit and overall it was a nice festive atmosphere."

"This used to be one of our favorite brunch spots but that is no longer the case. We sat inside and it was absolutely freezing. It was about 20 minutes before anyone acknowledged our table. We ordered the eggs Benedict and when it came out the egg yolks were hard and the hollandaise sauce had a skin on it as if it had been sitting for awhile under a heat lamp. My husband was supposed to have toast with his meal and that was missing. No one came back to check on us after they left the food and we had to flag down our waiter after a few minutes of waiting. When my husband's toast came out it was burnt. The waiter did apologize but I was surprised a manager did not stop by our table. This was a disappointing visit."
