"The seating was too tight. The food not only not memorable, but tasteless. The seating way too tight. Cocktails less than par.
The only positive was the service. Our server was a gentleman and very in tune to his customers.
There seemed to be a lot of locals, because guests were greeting other guests by name. I guess that's what keeps this place popular.

"Booked a table here for Mother's Day, and was so delighted Cafe Tiramisu had reservations available day-of. Come here quick before it becomes so popular that's no longer feasible! Our food was outstanding - very authentic, delicious Italian - and the patio seating was an ambiance highlight. Only things I'd change were the time it took our food to come out (we had a very leisurely, 2+ hrs European dinner) and the fact that workers from other Belden Place restaurants smoke in the alley on breaks (something my sense of smell occasionally picked up).
By all means - get THE signature tiramisu, it was out of this world."

"The food here is creatively prepared and presented, and is as delicious as it looks. It is equivalent to a 4 or 5 star NY Italian restaurant. Being an ex-New Yorker, I have found the Italian food here in SF very ordinary and pedestrian. Cafe Tiramisu has finally given me a great Italian I can rave about to friends. We had two appetizers - octopus with zucchini capparcio and kale caesar salad, both beautifully presented and fantastic. I had the best veal dish since my last trip to NY. My friend had the seafood salad, which was usually prepared and absolutely delicious. My other friend had the short ribs and loved every morsel. Terrific dessert to try "Three Vanilla". Service attentive & friendly. Fabulous extra dry martinis. Try it."

"Although we have been to Belden Pl and frequented B44, we did not know about this place until our friend recommended. The food was excellent and the service was great. I just wished that we were sat somewhere further inside the restaurant. Sitting by the door was a bit chilly whenever customers come in and out. We would come back again."

"This was my third experience with Cafe Tiramisu, each time with 6 or more people. Everyone one in my group was delighted with the food, which is saying something because some have very high expectations. We had two people ask for significant modications to a couple dishes because of personal preferences. The changes were made without hesitation and the quality of the different version was superb. A couple people were so impressed with side dishes on their meal others asked for these as additional side dishes for the group to share. Outstanding, gracious service. Also, we had a 9 year old for whom the waiter made slight changes to a ravioli dish to his delight. All this with a very reasonable price. My wife and I are eager to return."

"Very nice place for this price range especially. Food is authentic northern italian and flavors well maintained, notably with perfect salting and not so much spicing that it covers natural food flavors. We had the crab ravioli and veal scallopinni, and both were done properly. Waiter was attentive and with nice personality. Wines by the glass were a bit lacking, with only one cab, pinot, etc, so I would expand this. Bottle markups were some of the highest I have seen in the city, even compared to places like Mortons, so I would bring my own and pay the 20$- this is waived if you buy one there. Ive had the shortribs prior and they were awesome. Kitchen is very competent here and typical italian menu (like anywhere else)."

"We were VERY disappointed with our dinner at Cafe Tiramisu, Although the setting (Belden Alley) is great, we will never go back. The food portions were very small, but that turned out not to be an issue. Although there were only 5 raviolis on my plate, they were so slimy and bland that I only ate half of one and couldn't stomach any more. The wine was so over-priced that we had beer -which was flat- with our dinner. Our waiter was inattentive and unconcerned with our disatisfaction, and we were charged full price for food we couldn't eat. We chose Cafe Tiramisu based on positive reviews, so this was a unexpected outcome. If you go, take your own wine. Even with a $15 corkage fee, it'll be WAY less expensive."

"The mussels were fantastic and I loved that they have the 3 vegetable side dish option. This was perfect for my mother and me to share. We had the spinach, broccoli, and parmesan fries. It was the perfect amount for two. The only disappointment was the salad. We both had the salad with apple, walnuts, and gorgonzola but the apple had no flavor and the dressing could barely be detected. The salad lacked flavor.

"Food was okay; however, the arugula salad and the tiramisu were spot on. Service could've been better during lunch hour - I mean, if a restaurant is in the middle of the Financial Dist., expect people to be rushing back to work after lunch. I'll probaby go back and see how their dinner service is."

"One of my favorite Italian restaurants. Always try and go when in town and recommend to friends. This last visit was great food, brought 2 other couples. The waiter unfortunately was very busy and understaffed, we would have gone through more wine, but our selections were not available, then the bottle would sit empty for a very long time till they found another bottle. Had to ask for orders to be taken, 2 entrees were on the "warm" side when they came. They fixed it and the food is still amazing. Owner who I usually get to see wasn't there that night. They did make an effort, was just very understaffed."

"Solid Italian food at tourist prices. This would be a fine restaurant anywhere else in the country, but for SF it is too pricey for the caliber of cuisine. For those prices, you can get spectacular food at many of the Italian gems near Union Square. Good outdoor seating scene and definitely on the tourist circuit."
