Da Marco
You'll get the best pizza and pasta dishes in the city at Marco Wiles' intimate and unassuming little Montrose restaurant. Some of the unusual varieties of fish, such as the branzino (Italian sea bass) are jet-flown in from Italy. The wine list is just as innovative as the food, with lots of crisp Proseccos and unusual Piedmont reds. And the service is exceptional -- unless you ask for spaghetti and meatballs.

"My wife and I aren't really Italian food lovers but after eating at Da Marcos, we are now. The food was out of this world. I had seared Octopus salad and chianti braised short ribs with burrata risotto. Incrediable... My wife had the grilled scampi with orange honey salad and sweet corn ravioli and lobster. She loved it. We both agree, we usually don't give any restaurant 10's because there is always room for improvement but in this case Da Marcos - 10!"

"The manager / a couple of waiters are pretentious. Sometimes they walk around with stone face and without talking to anyone. Maybe they think that they have good food and everyone will come anyway. In addition, the place is so small that you can hear conversation next table very clearly (every word). Food is very salty."

"This restaurant is very expensive, but the food and service is fantastic! I will probably not be dining here again soon, due to the high prices. However, I'm glad that I got to experience it all at least once. It is very romantic, and very well managed. The experience added to a very pleasantly memorable evening."

"This small restaurant is absolutely outstanding. The food was delisious, although the short-rib I had was just slightly salty for my taste but it was still excellent. The service was attentive but not overbearing. Even though this dining room is small, the noise level was very good. It was easy to carry on a conversation in moderate tones and still be heard across the table. I do think the wine list was a bit pricy for the quality of the wines offered, but other than that I think the prices were good for such excellent fare.
I would highly recommend Da Marco to anyone looking for a special evening."

"We had the artichoke which was delicious and I had their ravioli with truffles as an entree portion. I love it so much. I dream about this food. I love how the egg splits open perfectly when you cut into it and I love the flavor of the cheese inside. And you cannot go wrong with truffles. My boyfriend had a ravioli dish with veal. He liked his food but wasn't as enamored as I was about my dish.
The big problem with this place was our server. He dropped the Compliments of the chef on our table and didn't bother to tell us what it was. He read us the specials but didn't explain any of them. It took him awhile to even get to our table. He seemed annoyed with us. This place is far too expensive for such poor service."

"While the restaurant is cozy, quaint and even romantic ( not on Valentines day) I was a little disappointed with the pre fixed menu, 105.00 3 small courses, no dessert and lousy service, actully rude and un attentive or uncommunicative the whole evening, I am sure they just wanted to rush us through to sell the table again, never asked how I wanted my very small New York strip and it came out well done, I was actually anxious to eat off the menu and would not have gone had I beed told in advance that there was just one menu. Overall the food was Ok but nothing at all to rave about . Tip, teach your staff to be nice, open, friendly and communicative"
