"I always think of Spago when I need a reservation for lunch with a special friend or an elegant dinner with friends or family.

"This was our second time eating at Spago. Everyone there goes out of their way to make you feel like you are special. We sat near a few movie and television stars and it seemed that we were all treated the same. It was a very special treat! The food was delicious."

"This was my second time visiting the restaurant and let me tell you, it was fantastic...again! The food is always amazing and the service is the best in Beverly Hills. The flavors are so bold, so fresh, so unique, but all so familiar. Wolfgang takes traditional items and makes them into something extraordinary. Both times that I have visited the restaurant, Wolfgang himself has come around to each table shaking people's hands and introducing himself. Now THAT is class!! And if the food and service aren't enough, the plastic surgery parade and other eclectic people watching are second to none. It is pricey, so make sure it's a special occasion or that you bring your company credit card."

"Even though we were charged $50.00 bottle for corkage, the wine service was poor to non-existent. Our water glasses were also left empty most of the night. To make matter worse, the restaurant imposed a mandatory 20% service charge for a party of four. Near the end of the dinner, the restaurant started to play very loud music which was very distracting. Overall a very poor experience. It was very obvious that this restaurant caters only to the tourists and not foodies, wine geeks, nor those seeking a fine dining experience. This is the first poor rating I have ever taken time to post on Opentable."

"I had an RSVP on open table. After getting there at the time of my rsvp, I was told to wait because the tables had their checks but werent getting up yet. Then i noticed the people around me that walked in getting sat. I went up and asked a couple of times about the table and then finally got sat. It was almost like the rsvp was pointless.
We sat there without a menu (wine or food) for 10 minutes. The waiter was not on top of things at all...had to ask for bread, my friend got her wine but he forgot mine, my other friend didnt get her salad until after my steak came out because he forgot to put it in....you get the idea.
The food was good, aesthetics were pleasing, and I was in good company, otherwise, I would have been totally annoyed."

"Always a great place to visit and eat. The new décor is very nice and tidy looking and the menu is exciting as always. If you would like the weiner schnitzel - they'll gladly make it for you, but it's no longer on the menu. :( We always take out-of-towners here and they are consistently left with a fantastic impression. "Spago never disappoints. You are greeted in a friendly manner as you enter the always busy restaurant. The wait staff is professional, friendly and accommodating. The menu has new things to try as well as old favorites. I've always been treated well at Spago and it remains my favorite Los Angeles restaurant. When Wolf is in house he mingles with his guests and stops to chat with those of us he knows. Spago is an event--not just a place to eat."

"It was my friend's birthday, she had come all the way from London to enjoy her big day. Our reservation was for 9:30pm, the hostess informed us that they were running behind and to have drinks at the bar. My friend was surprised at this since they are very punctual in London, I explained to her that in LA being 10-15 mins late is not a big deal. We waited 45 mins before had to notify the hostess we were still waiting to be seated. At this point I expect a manager to offer his/her apologies for the wait and comp our 2 drinks, not the case. In this caliber of restaurant I expect outstanding customer care, I am really disappointed.

"We had dined at Spago several times, but not since the redecoration which is tasteful & elegant. The menu has changed too though I had the Puck special wienerschnitzel which was consistent & good. My wife had Halibut with an F. Adria foamy presentation & our guest devoured the veal chop. Appetizer salads are well dressed but our guest's asparagus soup was overwhelmed by sweet English peas. Cocoanut soufflé & blood orange sorbet for desert looked & tasted very good. The wine list is a problem. There is a one page selection by their wine advisor, which is useful. Otherwise, the book contains 1000's of listings & is useless unless you know exactly what you want. The wine prices are impressive too but consistent with this restaurant."

"Enjoyable experience at one of LA's institutions. Food was good but not amazing - I felt the cost was rather high for what it was. Simple short ribs and a lamb dish were around $40-$45 per dish. Then an additional $8-$10 for 'sides' which we were recommended. Wine list was extensive and there were some reasonable options cost wise from all over the world. Our waitress spilled a glass of water between us (me and my husband) and their 'fix' was to put a napkin over the wet patch. I would have expected slightly better handling of that situation! All in all I'm not sure this restaurant deserves the hype it receives."

"I reserved a table at Open Table and requested a table that is located in a nice area of the restaurant (I was tryin to impress a girl) but with a little privacy. Not only did they accommodated my requests, they even say us close to the fire place which made the evening even more romantic. Although we arrived late, the hostess was very polite and guided us to our table.
The service was very good. My date was very impressed with the attention she got from the servers. Our server is very knowledgable about all the ingredients and manner in which the food was prepared. He even suggested a good bottle of wine to complement our meal.
The food was certainly one of the best. The ingredients were perfect and Chef Wolfgang even stopped by."

"Solid dining experience. Of course I expected a lot going in. We basically enjoyed everything ordered. Perhaps I ordered the wrong appetizer in that I ordered a dish of sashimi which was good, but perhaps not quite what I was in the mood for. The Vienerschnitzel was quite nice though (so you can guess if I ordered a dish like Vienerschnitzel, probably didn't pair that well with sashimi). Also we had some cocktails that were a spin on a negroni and those were quite good.
Would like to try the salmon pizza sometime."
