"For some reason, we haven't ventured in here for several years. The food was great. We had the trout and the salmon. Both were wonderful. Our servce was good as well. We'll put The Chop House back in the rotation when we're in town."

"This is an old favorite in Telluride, has recently been renovated but still retains the old ambiance of a mining town establishment. WE tried many different dishes (elk, steak, salad, seafood) - my salmon was amazing. We chose an Alexander Valley red blend and the wine was perfect. Cocktails were inventive and delicious. Dessert disappeared in seconds. The Chop House reminded us of why we love it so much. Good friends, great service, awesome eclectic dishes, luxe surroundings, all in a space that harkens back to another time. Highly recommend!"

"Everything you'd want in a chop house. Good steak, Good wine and Good service! I highly recommend getting lots of vegetable sides - they are all excellent. We've had dinner here about 3 or 4 times and every meal has been very good. The only reason I do not give it 5 stars is that I did not think the steak (NY strip) was excellent- just good. But this restaurant is definitely worth going to in any case."

"The Chop House teeters dangerously on the brink of becoming a classic tourist trap. While its historic building and prime location are special enough to keep the tables full,they are not enough to justify the food which is truly mediocre and the prices which are not. We were disappointed in the flavorless overpriced steaks, and hit/miss side dishes. The service was competent but not particularly pleasant, and a bit rushed for white table cloth dining. We are a well traveled family of foodies and not price sensitive, if the food and service are great we are happy at almost any price. If you are looking for a great steakhouse, the Chop House is not it. If you want to soak up the charm of have a drink at the bar and eat elsewhere for dinner."

"Our table was set in a private room just off the main dining room. The waiter had a little trouble understanding our Texas drawl but soon had everything going smoothly. The salads, Frisee and Petite Romaine, were fresh (the quail egg in the Frisee Salad was overdone) and the steaks (10 oz. fillets, rare)cooked to perfection, although the sauces (Horseradish and Bearnaise) one of our guests ordered didn't really add anything, being fairly bland. Braised Brussels sprouts with bacon, cream corn brulee, and mac and cheese with bacon lardons provided just the right amount of comfort food, with each side being enough for two. The salted caramel ice cream dessert was exceptional."

"We haven't dined at the New Sheridan for over 17 years and never made time to dine there through the years. A steaks a steak, right? Well, no it's not- not if you are the New Sheridan Chop House. The food was simply outstanding. We couldn't decide who chose the best dishes! Incredible mussels, delicious duck confit spring rolls, perfectly prepared filet mignon- all so great! Our server Johnny was also amazing- he really made our meal even more enjoyable. He had a zest for the food he served and was so eager to please. A true professional. He just added to the overall great experience. We can't wait to return next year and enjoy another wonderful meal!! Did I forget to mention the delectable pumpkin cheesecake??"
