"The food was fantastic and fresh - I've never had a better salad in my life. I've never had a better steak, and even though they are pricey they are worth every penny. By the time we finished our steaks, we were full to the brim - yet we still ordered and finished a cheesecake becase it was just plain delicious. The service was top-notch, and the wine list was as extensive as any I've seen.
It was an expensive date, but it was worth it. I highly reccomend it - you won't leave disappointed."

"From the setting to every delicious course, this place was amazing! We enjoyed each and every item we ordered from the menu. The best filet mignon my husband & I have ever had. The 1lb lobster tail (which was the size of our heads) was worth every penny. I just wish this place was closer to home. Whenever we return to Virginia Beach, this is for sure our first stop!"

"The appetizers were the best I've ever had and the view was amazing! The wait staff went out of their way to ensure that we had a great experience. Only two negatives - my husbands steak was a bit overcooked but not so much so that had to send it back, and the hostess stand was unattended both times we stopped there. On arrival we waited over 10 minutes for someone to great us and when told to pick up our leftovers there we waited another 15- 20 minutes before my husband finally tracked down a manager. If you just consider the time spent at the table with the gorgeous view, incredible food, and superior wait staff I would have rated this a 5 star perfect experience but because of the absent hostess I can only rate it almost perfect."

"I loved the atmosphere and service. The food was great. My husband and I ordered quite a bit of seafood and it was tasty and fresh. The waiter was very attentive. We were seated a little close to neighboring tables which always takes away from a restaurant for me. Other than the seating being a little close for comfort. I really enjoyed myself."

"Ambiance in this restaurant is great, as was the wine list. I'm not sure what the requirements are for the AAA Diamond Restaurant award, but the food was not exceptional. Don't misunderstand, it was good just not great. If you are staying at the hotel I would recommend eating there if you want a quiet, relaxing, private atmosphere with good service."

"Salacia is connected to the restaurant Catch 31. The hostess walks us through this restaurant to a small room which is Salacia. The 2 menus are different except for the raw bar items. Catch 31 doesn't have the $50 lobster tail, which had something just not right. It was the texture or the flavored butter.
My husband and I went to Salacia for our 20th anniversary. The ambiance, ocean view (we requested), waiter/service, low lighting, business casual dress, and small room made for the perfect romantic location.
But, we decided that we would scrap all that next time, because the food was just average. The steak was the only fantastic part.
In VB, if you want great food, you don't have to dress up for it."
