"We were seated at a table stuffed by the service station on the corner of the deck. The kind of table that says "We don't care about your experience, we only want your money." My order was wrong, the salad was limp, and the overpriced drinks nothing special. Our pretentious waiter was more interested in extolling the virtues of the menu than in paying attention to what we were saying. This place is a money machine living on it's reputation - it is not a friendly neighborhood spot anymore."

"Megan was very helpful in moving our reservation back 45 minutes when were realized that we would be late arriving from Chattanooga. Our waiter was very helpful in describing dishes and specials when we told him it was our first visit. I tried a dish I had never had as an experiment(imperial squid ink pasta and calamari)which was excellent. My wife had saltimbocca(sic?)that was also excellent."

"La Tavola was such an amazing experience. My husband and I were running late for our dinner reservations and the hostess were SUPER accommodating for us. Once we finally arrived, we were catered to throughout our entire dinner. We had an amazing waiter, Jimmy who was very knowledgeable of the menu. Honestly, every entree on the menu sound so good, but my husband and I ended up getting the squid ink linguine with the veal and prosciutto entree... to die for! We had the braised cheek for an appetizer and the chef sampler for desert. The waiters/waitresses seem to work together, which is great! There doesn't seem to be one waiter/table, which allowed us to see a variety of personalities (all were great). We will definitely be BACK!!!"

"Small restaurant that buzzes with activity. Although tables are somewhat close together, it's a fun, quasi-be seen place with a fun atmosphere. This might not be the place if you're looking for a quiet, romantic dinner, but the food is consistenly delicious. Tagliatelle bolognese and Tagliolini w/mushroom rago were excellent. If you want a pasta fix worth every calorie, this is the place. Try to get a booth if you can, or opt for outside 2nd floor seating out back if the weather is appropriate. Waiters are definitely knowledgeable about the wine and entrees."

"We came here for date night and had a wonderful time. The food from beginning to end was superb. We started with the duck sausage and it was wonderful. Our main entrees were both fabulous but we thought the flat iron steak was just perfect. We ended the meal with the cheesecake and flourless chocolate cake and again they were outstanding like the rest of the meal. The wine menu was very good and my lemonade cocktail was great. The atmosphere was very nice and cozy. It is a smaller restaurant which we enjoyed. The staff all seemed to pay attention to details and everything was handled great. We went on a Saturday evening and it stayed busy so I would recommend making reservations. We would highly recommend this restaurant!"

"Everything we ordered was spectacular. The salumi plate with crusty bread was so thinly sliced it melt in your mouth. We each had a salad: roasted beets with arugula and roasted artichoke with arugula. Both salads sang in our mouths. My husband had he fungi fettuccini while I had the black squid ink pasta with calamari. So tasty! Everything was perfectly seasoned. The flourless chocolate cake with olive oil and salt ended evening on a sweet note. Great service but my only complaint is the place is reay tight and unless you have a booth, you're in the middle of lots of traffic."

"The food as always was fabulous, and the ambience and the seating on the patio was just perfect for the weekend weather. The lady who seated us when we came in was gracious and really friendly. The only negative that day was a very attitudal server named Chris who was practically rolling his eyes and giving us attitude when we made any request and even gave our orders from the time we sat down. The entire experience of good food, great patio and perfect weather was definitely detracted from with his condescending attitude, and seeming annoyance of having to wait on tables. He couldn't have been more rude, or seem more annoyed that he even had to work that day."

"Excellent! I did see a review saying the food has slipped since the definitely gifted chef Craig Richards moved restaurants. There has been some variation in recipes but honestly the new team still hits the same high bar Craig set. For us it is the most consistently good restaurant in Atl."

"My wife and I had an anniversary dinner. Waiter was attentive and helpful, but my pasta bolognhese was dry and not well seasoned. My pot of tea was tepid rather than hot. And the noise level was too high. We were both disappointed with the meal."

"La Tavola is truly a neighborhood gem. It never disappoints in food or service. They hosted a dine out event for our preschool and everyone was so enthusiastic about the event - the manager, hostess and server were all very supportive. I had the mushroom ragu pasta and it was perfection - so tasty. I noticed it was a very popular dish. The thing I'd like to highlight the most is that my husband was not feeling well and had to cancel his order. So they brought him some gelato - very nice and very much appreciated! Thanks!"

"Dinner was good but not as good as our previous visit. Asked for a specific server and were told we could not have him as he did not have the right sized table for us (3 people). Were seated on balcony of back of restaurant--service was fair at best--bar orders were slow, food did not come out iin proper intervals. Food was good--not great. Winter menu was better than current spring. Will go back, but only if we can sit with our server Jason."

"I have been going to La Tavola for many years, and have always left fulfilled. Great service, loud, tight tables, but always satisfied. However, I must say this last visit I left thinking it's not what it once was. Apparently, there is a new "sheff" in town. Good food, not great food that I became so accustomed to. Braised beef agnolotti is gone from the menu, the beet salad is not what it was, mushroom tagliatelle is somehow not as saucy. The cheesecake and flourless chocolate cakes are still a "double yum"! Overall still good, just not as good as the "old school" foodies may recall."

"La Tavola is my place to bring people that I want to impress with the food in Atlanta. We have had guests from Italy and France and they have loved it so much that they have asked us to go back again. My French father in law though that the steak and polenta was fantastic, my mother in law loved the salmon crostini, my Italian brither in law gave the big thumbs up to the pork milanese and my 3yr old gobbles down all their pasta and all the meats (steak, duck sausage, ...). The staff is great and they treat the dining couple (we have been there for romantic anniversary dinners) and the big family groups (part of 6, including 3 year old toddler and 2months old baby). If you can try any of their special events: tomato fest, La grassa"

"Made reservations a week in advance for Saturday night. Given the front table by the window, and served well. The trout was absolutely delicious, as were both the grilled calamari and brussel sprouts we ordered for the table. My only caveat is that the portion sizes are on the small end, while the price is on the high end. Expect to order a few sides or a Primi to go along with the Secondi to make a full meal. Overall, one of the fancier places in the Va Highlands."
