"I have been to Richmond, VA location several times, and always enjoyed the energetic/engaged wait-staff. They explained the fondue process/courses, and were very attentive. That was NOT the case at the Arlington location. We ordered only cheese and chocolate courses, and both were disappointing. In both cases, our waiter brought the course, gave no explanation/presentation as he was making the fondue, then left the table before finishing stirring. We had to finish the stirring ourselves, as he didn't return again until we were half-way through each course. While the cheese course was fine in terms of taste and consistency, the chocolate was VERY runny, not the thick fondue that I had been expecting. I won't be returning to this location."

"We had excellent service on Sunday evening. Friendly, helpful, not obsequious. The food was delicious. The process of cooking your food in a pot of boiling broth is an excellent way to slow down fast eaters and generally relax everyone at the table. We chose not to go for the four-course meal because that is way too much food for us. We skipped the cheese dipping course. We had a salad, three entrees, and then dessert. Our waitress suggested that we have dark chocolate with caramel with a sprinkling of cinnamon set alight at the table (with a serving of rum), and that was an excellent suggestion. Delicious.
The food was very very good, but what set our meal apart was the service.

"We had a fun night with about 9 "girls" - and everyone was able to find something they liked. We chose to order 3 of the meals and shared them. We also had one person in the group who was a vegetarian and she was able to find something to her liking as well!"

"It is a great place for friends & family to get together. You spend along time at he restaurant so I would not recommend it for little children especially since the burners are at the table and are very hot.
It is great because you can have an assortment of different foods. It is interactive and fun."

"I've been here before and was ecstatic when Living Social had a deal. My boyfriend and I decided to wait for our 2 year anniversary to redeem the deal. Our server was very attentive but not overbearing and was very helpful in picking out a wine for the night. The food was good (as usual) and came at a good pace so we didn't feel like we had to rush. Overall, great place for a romantic dinner, we certainly will be coming back with our without a deal."

"We celebrated Valentine's Day a few days early at the Melting Pot, and it was a great experience. It was our first time there, and the whole experience just slows you down a bit. There's no need to rush through eating, in fact it's not possible, because you cook everything individually at your own pace. We were moved along at a comfortable pace by our server, who was funny and threw in some light-hearted jokes throughout our 4 course dinner. Very memorable experience!"

"The Melting Pot was great- they gave us a secluded booth and great service. Unfortunately, halfway through, a group of middle-schoolers came in for a birthday party and were loud and obnoxious which ruined the whole thing. I wish I could say this was the only time this happened but a couple of years ago on Valentine's day- a group was having a 6-year-old's birthday party......6 years old! On the most romantic day of the year.....screaming and crying..........it makes us think twice about going to The Melting Pot."

"2 1/4 hours is way too long for a non 5-7 course meal, especially on a Sunday night. Waitress only had a few tables--seemed to spend way too much time in the back. After complaints, other staff members did help her out considerably--otherwise it would have been even longer.
Melting Pot is a unique kind of dining experience. The food is always good. But the extremely slow service made for a very long night. It also made for food not at its best. First course, cheese fondue, for instance wasn't REALLY well cooked and melted for a while after it was started. But because she took so long to start it, we were so hungry that we started eating when it wasn't at its best--getting fuller bellies by the time it was at its best."

"My boyfriend and I went here to celebrate six months together. The staff was great at guiding us through the menu options for our LivingSocial coupon for a four-course meal. The food, as always, was superb. Highlights: lobster tail and bbq pork both became tender and buttery in the bouillon broth. We had the Flaming Turtle (chocolate and caramel with toasted pecans) for our dessert dip - divine. The real star here is the service: we received friendly, attentive service from everyone, including the hosts, the servers, even the folks who confirmed our reservation by phone. No one rushed us - in fact, plan to spend awhile here as the food takes time to cook. This is a great special occasion dining spot!"

"This restaurant was pretty good and if I could have stated that I'd "maybe" recommend it that is the answer I'd put instead of yes or no. The waiter spilled the cheese appetizer on the table and almost on me as he was mixing it, he brought the dessert before the salads we ordered, he didn't refill our water, he didn't bring more dippers when we requested, if it hadn't been for other wait staff, the dining experience would have not gone well at all. The food was very good and the wine was very bad."

"Great Fondue Restaurant -- we left the Restaurant about 4 hours after we got there and the time flew. Great food mixed with great company. Our server was fantastic, knew his way around the menu and then some. I would recommend this restaurant if someone was looking for a restaurant that has a different flair about it. "We much prefer the older menu. It is unfortunate the salad is no longer included with the entree. (Previously, at the Melting Pot, it was, and at most restaurantes it still is). On a previous visit, the spinach, artichoke ravioli was ordered (as an entree, not as part of a 3-choice selection). Much to my surprise I was billed $23 as though I ordered the ravioli as all three of my selections. I re-ordered the ravioli again on Sat. and clarified that it was as an entree. I noticed the serving size was exactly the same as the previous visit. I was billed correctly this time.
The Melting Pot continues to be one of our favorite restaurants, but it is very obvious they have raised their prices in a very subtle way."

"We went for Easter Brunch. For $32 each, we received four courses which were all wonderful and the food was plentiful. They also had great $2 mimosas. I would go back again but only when they were offering a special such as the Easter Brunch. Ordering a la carte is just too expense. The only down side was that the garage doesnt except validation until after 4pm even on Sundays."

"My boyfriend and I had a nice table in a little corner with a window that looked out at the street. It was very nice. We had great service. I was happy the garage was only $2 upon validation. We used a Livingsocial deal with no snags, which was wonderful. Had fun, and enjoyed the food. Very pleased by the experience."

"nice, but wait time was a bit long between entrees, and staff could've used a bit more help. overall good experience though. i say this every time - the cheese, salad and dessert are exceptional. the main course, i could skip, although it was delicious, I prefer seared meats as opposed to "boiled," which is esentially what fondue meat is. Good experience, good atmosphere, very romantic restaurant."
