From its first day, Emeril's Restaurant & the multitalented man who reinvents it with every meal became the focus of ecstatic praise. A decade after Emeril's Restaurant exploded onto the culinary scene, Emeril's has evolved & transformed itself for the 21st century by updating its flagship restaurant. Completed in 2000, the innovative details reflect the significance of the warehouse district location, new New Orleans cuisine & Emeril’s extensive wine list. The Food Bar is framed by a tapestry of glass encased spices showcasing the bold & creative flavors that Chef Emeril features. Emeril's state of the art kitchen is visible from the main dining room. Although walk-ins can be accommodated, reservations are highly recommended. Our dress policy is casual with no sleeveless shirts for men, no hats or flip flops. David Slater, Chef de Cuisine, and Kevin Delaune, General Manager, are dedicated to providing you with that memorable dining experience.

"Everyone in our party enjoyed their lunch very much. Our reservation was for 1:30 and we did not feel rushed at all, in fact I think it was after 3;30 when we left. It was a memorable occasion with cousins from Scotland I had not seen for 15 years. Excellent service."

"My husband and I had a very enjoyable dinner from start to finish. The hostess was friendly, the bartenders were very knowledgeable about the wine I purchased at the bar down to the owners and where it was made. The hostess sat us in a quiet area near the wine. The two waiters that took care of us were friendly, knew their menu and what wine to order for the meal, the two waiters made sure we had everything we needed, drinks filled, plates removed promptly. The Maitre'D also placed napkins in original state when we got up from the table during the meal. They made us feel special and took care of us. You could not ask for better service. The food was delicious as we expected it would be, since it was Emeril's Restaurant."

"My husband and I have always appreciated Emeril's recipes for being delicious but going to his restaurant has "kicked up" our view of him as a restauranteur. We went for lunch with our children, 11 and 6 yrs old, while on vacation in New Orleans. The wait staff was very attentive and accomodating. Emeril's price fixed lunch special was a nice bonus. He is obviously in tune with the current economic climate for New Orleans and those visiting from other places. If we lived in New Orleans, we would visit often."

"I flew in from Virginia and this was the first place I tried for lunch. The food was very good but service was not up to parr. Waiter relieved mostly on an untrained bus boy for most of the service which was slow as a snail. Could not believe there is no dress code. This place is overall good with reasonale prices but is a long way to go compared to some of the best restaurants in New Orleans. I told my family not to go to Emeril's this weekend and go to K Paul's instead.

Other locals I talked to said the same thing."

"The food was delicious and artfully presented. The ambience was quiet and dark, but we had a great view of the kitchen which was fun to watch. Our glasses were never empty and the wine list was delightful! Expensive evening, but not so expensive that I wouldn't go back. We were just excited to eat at "Emeril's". There were seats that overlooked the kitchen and next time we will try to sit there."

"We visited Emeril's during a busy convention. Made reservations 2 months in advance which were reconfirmed. We arrived on time and were seated promptly. Emerils on a busy Saturday night is not the place for quiet conversation. As expected tables are close together. Acoustics can make conversation difficult depending on where you are sitting. Excellent waitstaff were happy to share their personal recommendations (and they did not disappoint). The wine list is very overpriced - extensive selection but very few values. We appreciated the options on the 20th anniversary original opening menu. Our table of 6 shared 4 appetizers and sampled each others entree's and shared 6 desserts. Overall a very good meal @ $125/person including tips."

"Not a memorable visit. Food was mixed, service spotty and this was on a Monday night! Have been many times previously and food was inconsistent (redfish and jumbo shrimp entrees were good, gumbo disappointing, dessert banana cream pie average) but service spotty (forget requests, unattentive). Will drop this down on my list since there are too many must visit places in New Orleans."

"I was a little disappointed. My soon to be finace wanted to go have a "fancy" dinner so I thought of Emerils. It took us 25min to be seated for our 10p reservation and after we were seated 3 other couples that seated after us received their entrees well ahead of us. Now on somewhat a brighter note we had 3 serves, the 1st one seem to vanish, but the last 2 were excellent!!!"

"I ordered lamp chops and they were outstanding. The portion, however, was meager. Two small chops with a scoop of mashed potatoes for $27 was not a good value despite the excellent quality. "Food was good but not what I was expecting. We have had Nola before and the food is much better at Nola. I would eat here again but would not go out of my way for it. We had the pork chop and red fish special. Pork chop didn't have alot of flavor, but the fish was pretty good. Great sauce on the fish. One item was wonderful; the BBQ shrimp appetizer."

"This was my first visit to Emerils and it won't be my last! The food and service was excellent. We also had drinks at the bar before dinner and found the bartender to be personable and knowledgeable. The thing that surprised me most about our experience was that for a "hot" restaurant, we were allowed to linger and talk over our coffee without the slightest feeling that we had over stayed our welcome."

"This was the most enjoyable dining experience we have had in years! If i could give 6 stars for Service I would. The food was outstanding and the portions were larger than I would ever have expected. The ranch double cut pork chop was huge and delicious! "My husband & I dined there for his birthday 02/28/10.The food was delightful reservation made online nothing was available until 10 PM. But, we were vacationing in New Orleans he wanted too dine there .

"I was so excited to book this reservation! I have ALWAYS wanted to eat @ Emeril's, so I booked it EARLY - that's the key. When we arrived, we were whisked to our seats and I had a perfect view of the kitchen. To my amazement, I watched the kitchen work as a well tuned machine - no shouting mind you - as the orders poured out and the runners brought the food out on trays with perfect balance. Once the food was brought out, everyone's dinners served all at once with precision timing. The shrimp dusted with saffron, grits w/sweet potato & mango chow chow was just divine. I have never tasted such a beautiful combination of food. Then there was the Banana Creme Pie - OH MY GOSH. I thought I died and went to HEAVEN! Thank You Emeril!!!"

"The service at Emeril's was excellent from the moment I walked in to the moment I left I felt cared for. This was a dining experience you do not want to rush through. The wait staff kept you well informed of the daily specials and the items on the menu that were favorites of the house. They had suggestions for wine pairings for each portion of their menu. Part of the ambiance of Emeril's was watching the Chef's busily preparing everyone's
meals. I especially liked being well cared for but not rushed! So that I had the opportunity to really savor each item I ordered. And savor you will want to do, as the food is creative, flavorful and local! If you go to Emeril's there is a high level of
expectation and it is DELIVERED!"

"The food was some of the best we have eaten, and we've eaten at many good restaurants. I had the gumbo soup and salmon, the salmon being perfect. My wife ordered the shrimp and corn bisque and shrimp. She also loved the food. One negative was that the waiters kept coming back to the table to ask if we were ready to order our meal although we hadn't yet gone through the extensive wine list. Once we got past that part of the evening, the service was fine, our water glasses were constantly refilled, our bread selections were excellent. Since the restaurant is one big room, the atmosphere was similar to a TGI Fridays - loud and overbearing. Emeril - fix that and you have a great restaurant!"

"I was so excited to be able to go to the original Emeril's restaurant in New Orleans. I had been looking forward to it for years. I was so dissappointed. The service was horrible. My server seemed confused and disinterested in me and my guest. She was bearly audible when she spoke. The process took 1.5 hours. From the time my soup bowl was taken it took 50 minutes to get the entree. I had started to think it wasnt ever going to come. The management seemed more interested in the place settings on the empty tables than they were with the guests sitting around with no food."

"In New Orleans a restaurant that delivers. Ambiance is very tasteful. The food was good, not great, but perhaps might change if not a lunch. We decided on the lunch crunch of three courses and did not feel rushed at all. All plates were well presented and very tasty. Oysters Julia are to die for. The real disappointment was the dessert. The vanille creme brulee was almost tastless. For the price...good."

"Best service, bar none. I had the drum fish for lunch. Quite large portion, for which my husband was happy!!! Not crowded when we were there...a Tuesday at 1:30 pm. Had the barbecued shrimp and it was very good. The banana cream pie was the best desssert...and I have tried a few!!!! When I get home, I am going to attempt to make it. Go to eat here."

"On our first trip to New Orleans post Katrina, it was great to see New Orleans is on the rebound and fine dining at Emeril's is back. The service levels were fantastic, infact they raise the bar for other restaurants to aspire. The food is beyond compare, the flavors truly exciting. The advice in paring our wine was appreciated and raised the experience to a higher level. My wife and I only wish we lived closer. Thanks to all the staff at Emeril's we are still smiling back at home in northern Canada.

"I really wish I could give a better review for the food. My husband and I had the crawfish bisque which was delicious. Unfortunately, the chicken and waffles and the scallops benedict were just OK. Nothing really excited either of us on these dishes. We really were expecting something delicious. Unfortunately, both of these entrées missed the mark for us. Without a doubt, the banana cream pie was the most enjoyable thing we ate. We could have easily had a bowl of the bisque with a salad, finished off with the banana cream pie and been happy skipping the entrees all together.

"We thoroughly enjoyed our trip to Emeril's. The service was fantastico! I had the stuffed flounder and my husband had the red snapper. We both thoroughly enjoyed. We were both very full but couldn't resist the banana cream pie. Awesome! Next time we go, I will request the chef's table. "We had a decent meal. I wouldn't say it was outstanding though. We had the Calamari, a steak and a fish meal. My biggest disappointment is having 3 different people serving or handling your table. For example, we had a very nice waiter. He was calm, in control, knew what he was doing. After he took our order, we never saw him again. Our food was delivered by someone else and our desert ordering was done by another person so you could get that comfort level with your server. One last thing, and it may not make a diffrence to most people. We went to Emeril's for a nice dinner and we dressed up. Others in the restaurant were wearing t-shirts, jeans and sandals, so to me it minimized the experience. We would not go back."

"We have dined at Emeril's many times over 10 years. We always enjoy memorable food and wine. They have added a nice twist: you can order small and medium portions in addition to the usual great entrees. And being aware of the economic climate today, they have added "Emeril's Wines for the Times" to the wine list. Very thoughtful.The andouille encrusted redfish was delicious and of course the signature banana pie was awesome. We try other restaurants in NOLA but we always return to Emeril's for a dependably excellent meal."

"It was a disappointment, we felt rushed. Being brought bread and amuse bouche while we had the menus and hadn't ordered made us feel rushed and felt awkward. Escargot with pasta and tomato sauce really didn't work well together, the pasta seafood bolognaise was just bland, but the BBQ shrimp were very tasty. After waiting 40 minutes for the chocolate souffle it was a shame that it was more like a chocolate cake than a souffle. Obviously we had high expectations for Emeril's and they came up short."

"It was what I expected it to be for an Emeril's in New Orleans restaurant.
The food was really good, generous portions, well prepared and seasoned, fresh and hot!mmm.mmm good!

I guess the only negative feed back to give would be I thought the wine and mix drinks to be a bit pricey (personal Pet-peeve) although in all fairness, consistent with the competition. Born and raised here...I think most bars are catering to the tourist, causing the prices to be a bit high.
I brought the entire family with us and they all had a wonderful experience...thank you!
I plan to be back! Nice job overall."

"The resturant was beautifully appointed, The Prices were not off the charts, and the Food was spot on. Our wait staff was helpfulI enjoyed the Almond Crusted Trout while my Husband devoured his Seafood Pasta Bolognaise. Both meals were to die for. All the flavors were complimentary and paired well with the wines suggested by our server. My daughter had the Poussion with Pom Frite, which had an unsusal lobster, and cheese sauce, but I was pleasantly suprised how well it all worked together. To top it all off, the 3 of us ate and had wine all for about $130 with wine and tip. Another completely momrable meal at Emeril's."

"Waited at least 20 extra minutes to be seated after making a reservation almost a month in advance. Very noisy restaurant and extra busy that night due to the Saints game, so waiters were very busy attending to all of their other tables. I felt like with the amount of money I spent the food was not worth it (eg over cooked). I think I was just a little disappointed because my boyfriend and I had driven to NOLA from 6 hours away, and were excited to try Emeril's for our special occasion, but it ended up not being very special. Emeril's is probably a great place to go when there isn't a game or some event in town."

"We went to Emeril's for a pre-Saints game meal. Emeril's had been advertising a special brunch menu. The placed was packed with many people waiting around the bar to be seated. We arrived early and were seated early. Despite the large crowd, the food and service were excellent. Even though we were near the bar, the sound level was not nearly as high as would be expected. I can only imagine that dining any other time would be a stellar experience. This is the best diniong experience I've had in recent memory. "The food was very flavorful and more than lived up to the reputation. We asked the chef to surprise us with a vegan plates without pasta. He made the vegan plate just as flavorful as the main meat-based entrees.

The wine selection is amazing (60+ pages)! We just told the semmolier which regions and flavors we liked, and he picked out some very good wines from each. He even took the time to explain what he liked about each wine.

We had 2 infants that night,so we appreciated that the restaurant was loud enough that our crying/talking babies were not heard outside of our table's vicinity. The tables are very large and spaced apart enough that we were able to easily accomodate our 2 infants toys, all our bags, and the infant high chairs."

"Very good but did not meet the hype. And Emeril hadn't been there in two months, we were told. So, what was the point? I wouldn't tell anyone who is in New Orleans for the first time not to experience it but personally, we wouldn't go back. Too many exciting new restaurants to waste a meal here. By the way, we had one dessert--a pecan tart with chocolate ice cream. The ice cream had a bourbon flavor which was good but it drowned the tart. I would have gotten the same effect if it had been ice cream on a slice of bread. The staff was very good."

"My husband and I were down for the Sugar Bowl and thought it would be fun to take our two college kids out for New Year's Day for a late lunch. Our meal was jumpstarted with the fried calamari as an appetizer. Calamari is a family favorite so we have tasted many versions. Hands down, Emeril's was the best we have ever had! We especially enjoyed the combination of olives mixed into the calamari and then served on top of that smoked tomato sauce. The bread served were these delicious warm, sweet cornbread cutouts that were divine! Yum! Each of us enjoyed our meals thoroughly and recommend making this a must destination if visiting. "We did extensive research before visiting New Orleans, wanting to visit some of the best restaurants. Emeril's food was the best of the "top 4" we visited. Do order the encrusted red snapper--it is wonderful. Ditto for the banana cream pie (I was sceptical of this one--what can you do with banana cream pie? Was I ever wrong to doubt!)

If we are ever back in New Orleans, we will definitely be going back."

"Emeril's was a very good experiance for my wife and I. The BBQ Shrimp appetizer was excellent. The salad was very good. We enjoyed the unique Shrimp-Pumkin Bisque soup. The Crusted Red Fish was excellent. We did not like the BBQ Salmon so much. It was cokked perfectly, however the BBQ sauce was too sweet for our taste and seemed to overpower the Salmon. The Banana Cream Pie was great. Last but not least, the service was over the top, from the valet, hostess, Chloe, and our excellent wait staff (Tim and the two Mike's). We would recommend Emeril's to anyone looking for a special dining experiance."

"Not up to the high standards I had expected. Service was only adequate and the temperature in the restaurant was an uncomfortable COLD. Several of us ate with our coats on, after receiving a lecture that the place would warm up after more people got there. Food was tasty, but so are ALOT of other places in the city. "We booked the DINNER reservation in November to celebrate my husband's 44th b'day on Jan. 1 (New Year's day AND a Friday night.) What restaurant doesn't have a full dinner menu on Friday, New Year's day!? The restaurant failed to inform us, even though I inquired ahead of time, that only a brunch/lunch menu would be available FOR DINNER! No BAM! from Emeril's, it only BOMBED. We planned the birthday dinner to be one of the highlights of our New Orleans visit. The restaurant failed miserably. We're soooo disappointed with the Chef of chefs."

"We dined here on 12/30/09 and overall had a very good meal. We started with BBQ shrimp and short ribs which were both very good, as was the Washington Apple Martini that I had! My husband had a very good spinich salad and a very good steak. I had a salmon dish that was also very good. For dessert, I had banana cream pie which was super delicious. Overall, the service was very good and we really liked the ambiance of the restaurant. I would recommend it to others."

"Very good meal as always at one of Emeril's restaurants. Service was excellent. Waiter was able to get chef to prepare the excellent rabbit appetizer that was not on the menu today.
Crabcake and rib appetizers are also very tasty. Pork chop is outstanding. Banana cream pie and cranberry bread pudding with white chocolate ice cream are to die for! We love going to Emeril's and recommend highly."

"Overall I had a great experience. We got exactly what I reserved for a nice table. Service was great, the only thing that was not so good was that I had to send back my dish "catch of the day swordfish". It was smelling very fishy and it tasted pretty bad. So I got replaced with the "Filet Mignon" dish, and that was outstanding!!! My guest got the "Rib Eyes" dish, it was great also. I would definitely like to go back and eat at Emeril's again."

"Everything was great from the service to the food. The andouille crusted redfish was tasty. I would recommend the chicken & andouille gumbo. It has just the right spices. Not too spicy. We received a complimentary banana cream pie while we waited on the chocolate souffle. We never would have ordered this, but once it came wishede we had ordered two of these. It is a must to try. The chocolate souffle was a rich dark chocolate dessert. If you love chocolate without the sweetness, this is a must try as well."

"After dinning at Emeril's in Las Vegas several time we thought that this year we would try New Orleans. We were not as impressed in New Orleans as we had been in Vegas. Don't get me wrong. The food was wonderful. However the service was not as good as you would receive in Las Vegas. We were not offered a wine list. We had to ask for it after ordering our meal. And then we seemed to get lost by the wait staff. I will return to Las Vegas to dine but probably will not make New Orleans a destination again."

"The food was phenomenal. If it is possible, the service was even better. I started off with the rabbit and fried green tomato remoulade. The rabbit was tender and fatty. The dish was served with a sweet creamy sauce with hints of both orange and grapefruit. These citrus fruits as well as the fried green tomatoes cut the richness of the rabbit and blended wonderfully. The next course was a traditional dish, shrimp & grits, with just enough non-traditional touches to make the dish unique and exciting. The complexity of the grits (which were flavored with sweet potatoes) was astounding. That sentence may seem oxymoronic, since grits are rarely associated with any such adjective as "complex," however, these were truly something to be savoured"

"Whether your a fan of Emeril Lagasse or not, this place is fantastic ! Somehow, the food, decor and price fits all dining classes. The decor is warm and open and service is sweetly gliding around you. You will feel WELL taken care of. The tastiness of this cuisine will make you ok with tipping or paying a lil more too. Plus you can opt for medium plates that fill you up w/o breaking the bank. i thnk there are kid choices as well. Just plain NICE - all around"

"It was my 31 Wedding Anniversary and they gave me the worst seat in the place. I have been to all of his restaurant in the New Orleans area. If you check your booking list, you see that I vist NOLA all the time. I even go there some when I don't have time to book through you. The food we had was ok's but not great like before. Also, my waitress was not vibrant and super helpful as you expect in a restaurant like Emeril. Thanks!"
