"Beautiful interior, lots of window tables. Service was quick, food was amazing. We loved the flavor palette, best shrimp and grits I've ever had. Portion sizes for salad, appetizer, main courses, and desserts was spot-on. We will definitely come back!"

"After a hiatus, two of my friends and I dined at Mimosa for lunch this week. I had the Mediterranean wrap with a side (I chose green beans but the decadent sweet potato fries were an option!). My friends had the trout and the Asian chicken salad respectively. All were phenomenal. I love the way Mimosa pays attention to details, regardless of what you are eating. I also appreciate the way they mix southern cooking with modern ingredients and cutting edge preparations. Mimosa just continues to keep things evolving while holding on to favorites."

"Menu is very creative and appealing, flatbread was delicious, all of our main course were great, shrimp n grits was a fantastic twist on the traditional dish. Our server was not very attentive, we had to get their attention when we needed drinks, etc."

"Mimosa is a good, upscale restaurant but not THAT good to justify the prices. The markup on wines, for example, must be between 500 & 100%. They can do a prix fixe menu at a sensible prix, why the enormous differential on a la carte?"

"We arrived around 5:30 to beat the dinner crowd before the concert. The food and service were great - the only issue was a wedding rehearsal dinner in an adjacent outdoor area. The staff tried to minimize the noise and traffic with only limited success. We'll be back!"

"Restaurant was great for a pre-symphony dinner for 4. Food was excellent and attractive; waiter was knowledgeable & attentive; blackened mahi-mahi was delicious, as was the trout.
We thought the 3 course special was a good option with a nice variety of choices; three of the four made that choice and everything was very good.
We keep going back to Mimosa's for lunch & dinner because it is not a noisy restaurant and the food and service are dependably good quality."

"Our three course dinner (only $33) was terrific on Friday night. the service was friendly and efficient - providing us with plenty of time to make our 7:30 NC Dance Theatre. Loved the ricotta and spinach salad and the trout was really exceptional. I usually don't order potatoes with fish - but the mashed Yukon golds were excellent and different. would pick the Crème Brule next time - although the chocolate cake was very good. Great value - had not been to Mimosa an a long time and really enjoyed it - we'll be back."

"We really enjoyed our dinner...had the $30 special which included appetizer/salad, entree and desert...this gave us the opportunity to try quite a few dishes on the menu. Each dish was not only delicious but the right size and artfully presented. The waiter was attentive and knowledgeable...Also, Sunday night was 1/2 price for wine by the bottle..So we had a great meal...I have a hearing disability and the booth was quiet and intimate but at the same time open to the rest of the restaurant...Also, I liked that the views out the window were of the huge courtyard, trees and water/sculpture installation, not cars and a parking lot. We'll definitely return sometime in the future."

"Great experience. The waiter I had was amazing. Super friendly, helpful and attentive, despite visibly having a bad day (i.e., things were spilled on him, etc.). The restaurant was very accommodating to my constant reservation time changes. The food was outstanding and I was so impressed at how they opened up the whole menu to Dine Out Charlotte (vs setting aside the worst food items for the Dine Out menu). I definitely plan to return. This is a gem that needs to be in other cities as it truly sets the example of how a well run restaurant experience should be. The managers must've stressed the importance of waitstaff being the "face" of the customer experience."

"The server was very accommodating as a member of our group was late but we never felt pressured and our drinks were always full. The pre-dinner break/biscuits were FANTASTIC! The food was good; however the server recommended the specialty stuffed hush puppies. Although the dish was good, the hush puppies were burned on the outside. The other dishes (Swordfish special and Wagyu flank steak) were good."

"Restaurant is great. The only think I really disagree with is that most of the food has pork in it. The Maui Maui fish with sweet potatoes and dumpling is one of the best dishes. CJ they store manage is great he make sure you are being assistant, and the serves are treating and getting your food out on time. "We ate outside and watched the cycle races - what a perfect night. The mussels were excellent and spicy. The "strawberry rubarb" salad was ok, the goat cheese and strawberries fresh and the rubarb mere dried slivers. The entrees were excellent - salmon and pork chop but sides of spinach was way to salty and the potatoes with the fish we thought we be a german warm potato salad with bacon turned out to be chunks of burned potates. Our desserts were excellent - a peach cobbler and cheese cake."

"I had not been to Mimosa in several years, so decided to check it out before going to a concert a Knight Theater. The restaurant is conveniently located to the theater. We had a wonderful meal! The menu has a nice variety. There were 5 of us, and they seated us at a wonderful round table by the window.
Several of us got a salad and an appetizer as an entree...which was a perfect portion! The mussels were fantastic, as were the crab cakes. THe beet salad is a "not miss". Our waiter was very attentive and knowledgable. They have a nice wine menu; though the mark up is a bit higher than some other restaurants."

"Have frequented Mimosa quite a bit, especially for holidays. Enjoy the atmosphere. Disappointed this time as our party of 5 was seated at one of the small booths for 4 that is located near the entrance to the rest rooms and near the kitchen area. Very cramped with one person having to bring a chair to sit at the end of the table. High traffic area and two people get the birds eye view of coming in and out of the mens room ! Would have preferred the usual spot in the main dining area at a larger circular table where we could also enjoy the festive decorations for Easter and see outside . Food was good as always."

"My friends and I chose Mimosa Grill as our celebratory restaurant as a treat to ourselves after finishing the NC Half Marathon last weekend. Overall, we had a great meal, from appetizers, to entrees to deserts. Our server was very friendly and attentive. We all had the same entree, roast duck breast with lobster ravioli and asparagus. Portions were large, except that there could have been a few more stalks of asparagus on the plate, as it was skimpy, but delicious. The duck was served rare. We also had desert--I had an apple bread pudding, served warm in a mason jar with a scoop of ice cream. The desert portion was not large, but just enough to provide a sweet ending to the meal. The restaurant also provides free valet parking."

"The service in the bar was lacking but the rest of the evening was great. I enjoyed the food very much. Wine list is fair at best (mostly American). "An overall good, solid dining experience. Food was excellent except for shrimp appetizer (shrimp were overlooked)-it was sent back. No pushback from our waiter and manager apologized profusely. Biscuit with tasso ham and chow chow was delicious. I had the scallop entree with Benton's bacon and scallops were cooked perfectly and dish had excellent flavors. My wife had the short ribs and they did not disappoint. It's a busy, open restaurant, so noise level was medium to high as expected. Wait staff did a good job getting us out in time to make our show."

"On a busy Saturday night the food was very good but the service only so-so. We arrived at 6:20 for our 6:30 reservations and our server knew we had to be at the Belk for an 8:00 show. Our food arrived at 7:20 and we had to eat fast, not talk and flag down someone for a check while we were still eating, and rush out the door. They seemed to be way understaffed to handle a packed restaurant."

"Cannot recommend this restaurant. I think it was popular back in the day and the food was okay, but it is obviously well past its prime. Cheesy jazz music mixed with Bee Gees, almost empty at 8:00 on a friday night, the maitre d was pretentious and the waiter would not leave us alone throughout the entire meal. I'm not sure how they're staying in business unless they have a good business lunch crowd?"

"Very much enjoyed dining here. We made reservations for a Saturday, March 16th @ 6:00. There was a large street fair going on in front of the restaurant for St. Patty's Day but we were seated promptly at a window seat to watch the crowd. Appetizers and drinks were served in a timely manner but the entrees took quite a long time. The Lobster Mac & Cheese was amazing! Waitstaff was professional and knowledgable yet we did need to "flag down" our waiter on a few occasions. I had the North Carolina Wanchese Scallops which were cooked especially well. My husband ordered the specialty Sea Bass but was less impressed as it was served Asian style (entire fish served, including the head & tail) which required quite a bit of work."

"The food and the service at Mimosa was great! We really enjoyed the sea scallops, and the restaurant was very accommodating in changing out the side options. On the downside....the restaurant was really loud and we were seated next to the loudest table (one with 2 children under the age of 1)."

Awesome meal paired with good wine and wonderful service and atmosphere. We asked for a booth and was accommodated.
Arrived a little early, no problem. We love this place. It has never let us down. They are consistently awesome on every recommendation we have been given. This is a must visit before a show at the Theater/ballet. They always get us out right on time. Love it!"

"I'm not a foodie, but I thoroughly enjoyed my entire experience at Mimosa Grill. Portions were just right, food was moderately hot when presented. I tried the pecan crusted trout with the Yukon whipped potatoes - melted in my mouth! Yummmm! And I was pleasantly surprised with the sweet potato pie - loved the added twist of the carrot coulis. As for the service, Mike S. was very attentive, without hovering, and considerate in asking about our time and whether we had a show to make (which we did). He saw to it that our meals were served timely, and did not take forever getting our check to us, so that we were able to get to our show on time. If you dine in Charlotte, Mimosa Grill is a MUST!"
