"Have not been here before but decided to try it for a bit of dining out variety and we were not disappointed. We were here on a Thursday night and only the 3 of us in our group were at the cooking table which was fun, but could have been more interesting with a bigger group (table seats 8). Our cook was friendly and entertaining, our waitress attentive and friendly. My 12 year old loved it and ate all of his dinner too!

"Went to Miyama for my 9 year old's birthday dinner and he had a great time. The food was well-cooked and tasty. I had the ribeye and shrimp special and thought it was great. The red bean mochi was also really good. Went on a Tuesday night and it was not too busy or loud; we even saw a local news anchor there for her birthday. We would go back again for another special occasion."

"We had a fantastic time and thoroughly enjoy every morsel of food. The seasoning on the meats was incredible and we really enjoyed the atmosphere with meeting and talking to the couples sitting around us. The chef was very good and certainly very entertaining."

"Everywhere I travel, I must try a Japanese restaurant. So while in Denver, I chose Miyama since it was close to my hotel. With me were my 3 adult children, who like me, enjoy Japanese food immensely. The miso soup was good. I didn't care for the salad dressing, it was too vinegary for my taste. I had the Filet and Shrimp. Both were excellent and cooked perfectly. The chef was entertaining and friendly, the service was great. The mochi was very good, not too chewy, which I prefer. I would definitely eat here again!"

"My husband and I took my son and his friend to dinner last Saturday night and thought the service was horrible. Our young food server was unprofessional and lacked basic skills. We have been to this restaurant several times in the last 3 months and each time we have had poor service. Whether you sit in the main bar area or in the hibachi rooms, it doesn't matter, just expect poor food service (vey disappointing). We won't be heading back there again. Next time we want this type of food, we will check out Mt. Fuji's on Lincoln."

"We went for 5280 week. We had a reservation for the sushi deal, but when we arrived, they had our name ,but not for the sushi part. We were seated in an open area and didn't get noticed or waited on until the manager came over and took our drink orders. It was a disappointing start. They only had one waitress serving the sushi menu that night and the service was not very good. The food was quite good and the salmon sashimi was excellent. The sushi was fine and the rainbow sherbet for dessert was so yummy. WE will probably go back, but it is quite expensive."

"Miyama was very busy Saturday night and the cooks were kept really busy and we were delayed a little bit in getting meals prepared,but the staff and managerial staff bent over backwards to make sure everything was going all right. It was overall an excellent experience and I would highly recommend it. The food was outstanding and when the cook knew that they hadn't given enough fried rice for the the patrons, he ordered another bowl to be prepared in the kitchen."

"We made a reservation for restaurant week for the sushi part of the restaurant. We were on the list when we arrived, but not for the sushi section. Apparently, they don't take such reservations. Restaurant was busy. We had to wait for a table in a free for all, first to the table, first seated. Food was placed on our table hurriedly by unfriendly staff, with no explanation of what was to be shared. Food was good."

"The tempura was not good. It requires a very light batter but ours was thick and goopy and the vegetables were soggy. The bento box was supposed to have California roll included but instead included more tempura veggies. The teriyaki sauce was not genuine Japanese teriyaki sauce, rather bland."

The main problem we had was that even though we had made reservations, we had to wait over an hour to be seated. I even noticed people without reservations being seated before us. That put a dent in an otherwise nice evening."

"We went to Miyama's for Valentine's Day. We sat at the hibachi table. Our chef was not that entertaining and he kept dropping his cooking implements and food when he was doing a trick. Overall, the food was bland, except for the salad. The Buffalo Calamari was delicious, though. I ordered Kobe beef for a $12 upcharge and I'm pretty certain I did not receive that cut of meat. The steak I got was tough. When I asked the chef if this was the Kobe beef, he told me it was. However, the chef kept putting the wrong food in front of his guests. He seemed to have a hard time reading the ticket for who ordered what. I would not recommend this restaurant. If you have $100 to spend, spend it elsewhere."

"When we arrived the host had a hard time finding our name on the reservation list. We thought we were booking a reservation for the dining room but he started taking us into the hibachi area. We had to tell the host we had booked reservations for the dining room. When we got seated it took the waitress a good 10 minutes before she even gave us our menus or said hello or took a drink order from us. Not a very good first impression but once the waitress saw us for the first time everything went very well. Food was very good. However I would not necessarily recommend this place to Friends."

"I'm a little conflicted on this review. We started with an amazing experience at the bar with great service, cocktails and sushi. The lounge is beautiful. The teppan grille experience almost seemed as if it were in another restaurant. The service was just adequate, three drink errors at our table alone. The food quality was disappointing and the "show" wasn't near what we've experienced at other places. My recommendation is this: Go for the happy hour, sushi and if you'd like order dinner in the lounge and you'll love it. Skip the grille experience."

"Miyama was good but not great. I missed having both noodles and rice and I was really disapointed that they do not have "yum-yum sauce", the traditional white sauce served with seafood. But, the filet was very good, the vegies were good, and the rice was just ok. Service was very good! I probably would not go back unless I could bring my own yum-yum sauce."
