"I took my girlfriend here for Valentines Day thinking we we're going to BLT Fish. Apparently BLT Fish is no longer..it's just BLT Fish Shack. I was not the only one surprised either. There was a party of 21 that walked in only to be seated in tiny tables spread out around the restaurant; and they made reservations as well. This restaraunt used to be rated #3 in the city for seafood and the ambience. BLT Fish Shack is living off of its reputation from BLT Fish. The problem is when you call and get their voicemail it has not been updated since December. You are given a message that makes you believe its business as usual...it's not. BLT Fish Shack is an overpriced Red Lobster and the music is way too loud as well as not dinner appropriate. I as well as many others were highly disappointed on Valentine's Day. The hostess informed me of the BLT Fish second floor closing to the public..open only for corporate events. It's obvious they knew what they were doing when the reservations were made by not informing customers of the closing. I won't be back and I will not recommend this establishment."
"I usually find high points for these reviews. The only one I can give is that the service and friendliness of the staff was superb. We started with the fish tacos. These had a reasonable portion of fish, but there was essentially no seasoning. I had to put Tabasco sauce on it just to give it some flavor. My main course was the sea bass. It was nicely cooked with a crispy skin. But again, it seemed to be very bland. It did come with a couple of sauces (they offer 3), that helped a bit. However, I should not have to drown the fish in a spicy mayonnaise to give it some palate-ability. We did try a dessert, the brownie ala-mode; basic and good. So overall, it was just a very average meal taste-wise. I think if you want to go to this place, you would be better off doing the fish-and-chips, which seems to be one of their signature items. Pricing was reasonable for what we ordered."
