"The menu is creative and uses a lot of locally grown foods. Most dishes are well conceived, but depend on the ingredients. The rabbit saddle (boneless) was very well done, but the gnocchi with morels and English peas had tasteless morels and peas that were too large and bland to be "English", and the pea shoots just got in the way. The appetizer and dessert were quite good. The service ranged from spotty to overly solicitous over the course of the meal. The room was a little noisy, partly from the crowded bar by the entrance. The menu and wine list were overpriced, but only as badly as at other upscale downtown restaurants."

"The variety (and quality) of the brunch items was outstanding! Loved the stuffed duck. Restaurant is a bit pricey ($7 for a mimosa), but the service is great. I would recommend for a special occasion -- we visited for Mother's Day, since my parents were in town. Everyone loved the food."

"My husband went to six one six for our anniversary dinner this weekend and were extremely impressed. Our service was perfect and our server was great and attentive. The wine list had some local wines from Michigan which i really appreciate. Our waiter suggested some great food from the menu. We were extremely impressed and can't wait to tell our friends to check out one of our new favorites."

"My friends and I stayed at the JW on April 20 and had pre-dinner drinks at Mixology. Our server Kali (I think - I know it starts with a K) was absolutely wonderful! she was extremely knowledgeable about the menu and very helpful. "On the Friday evening my wife and I had dinner at Six one Six there happened to be a large college age group with no regard for volume control. The management had a difficult time controlling the noise level of the group and it deffinately disrupted multiple guests of the restaurant. We cut our evening short (appitisers only) and the manager did her best to apologize for the noise. We may try another visit because the menu does look good and the appitisers were very good."

"Six one Six is a fantastic place to dine. My family and I, two sons ages 8 and 10 had another wonderful dinner there this past weekend. From the starters to the desserts are entire meal was fantastic. Add in the wonderful services by our server and we couldn't have asked for a better evening. Only one of my sons orders off a child's menu and the one who did, it's really only because of portion sizes. He had the grilled chicken breast with cauliflower. Wonderful to have the option of something other than the normal kiddie choices. My other son had the Sushi sampler again, it's his favorite item to order at Six One Six.
Both my husband and I had terrific dishes, he the hen and I the pasta. Excellent!"

"Six One Six is an ice restaurant with fine food selections. In previous visits we have been very pleased. This time the food was mediocre nd the service was not worthy of the environment. They were not all that bust when we got there so there was no reason for us to have been neglected. The wine selection by the glass was pretty disappointing. The steak was disappointing for the price. The surf and turf that my wife got was nearly in edible. For the price we paid for dinner, we were very dissappointed."

"Went to Six One Six for Valentine's Day with my girlfriend. We had a great time! The Zinfandel we ordered was Italian and tasted wonderful, the waitress helped us pick one out. We ordered the sushi sampler for a starter and every sample was delicious, and I'm not one for sushi normally! I ordered the trout which was awesome, but my girlfriend ordered the double pork chops and was probably the best I've ever tasted. They are steeper in price, but the great service and food is representative. Great place to go for a special night out!"

"We were pleasantly surprised by the outstanding service and creative, well-prepared menu items, since our experience here a few years ago was less than stellar. It was a Wednesday night, and the dining room was very quiet, but has the potential to be livelier on a weekend. Our waiter recommended the kale salad, which was light and very fresh. He also recommended the veal chop, which was prepared exactly the way we requested it. I had the rack of lamb, and the portion size was appropriate, with excellent sides. The wine list had some selections which we haven't seen in other local places, and our waiter was very knowledgable about the wines we chose. It is pricey, so probably best saved for a special occasion, but worth a try!"
