Continuing the legacy of Dallas' Original Steakhouse, Est. 1954, Kirby's Prime Steakhouse in San Antonio, Est. 2007, is an award winning restaurant featuring Mid-Western, grain fed, aged prime beef. Kirby's also offers fresh seafood, daily chef features, and a spectacular collection of New and Old World wine housed in an impressive cellar of over 3,000 bottles. "San Antonio is fortunate to have so many great steak houses, and Kirby's is among the best. Succulent streaks that literally melt in your mouth, decadent salad dressings (I recommend the Roquefort), and great sides (my favorite is the jalapeno macaroni and cheese). A great dining experience overall. I recommend going there on a weekday to avoid the weekend rush."

"I always enjoy eating at Kirby's. The food is consistently well prepared and their rack of lamb is the best! Try the lobster risotto and the mac and cheese... yes, I said, mac and cheese!!! Other notables are the cowboy cut ribeye and the tournedos bearnaise medallions. This is a perfect dining place for business, not loud and easy to carry on a conversation. It would be perfect for a romantic dinner as well."

"Compared to Ruth Chris, Flemings, Wild Fish, Perry's etc. my experience at Kirby's wasn't near as good as those experiences. Rib-eye definately fattier and definately didn't melt in my mouth as it did at those other locations. Sampler appetizer was very good. My wife and son enjoyed their meals, but both indicated they didn't have any desire to return.
I'll admit sitting with my back to the kitchen facing the rest of the dining room removed any ambience that may be present in he restaurant. Listening to the waiters at the waiter station didn't help either. Hostesses were nice, and lighting was nice.
Mother's day is a busy day, but I didn't get the feeling that I was anything more than a temporary visitor once I passed the hostess stand."

Romantic setting, jazzy music, dimmed lighting, notable wine list and the pickle chips and chicken florentine were amazing, by far the best I've ever tasted!
I was slightly insulted when they immediately pulled the wine list and glasses because me and my girlfriend appear young, however we are both in our 30's.

"We went there for my husband, Theo's birthday and it was great! The waitress was very knowledgable and recommended several great choices. The filet my husband ordered was extremely tender and full of flavor. I myself am a vegetarian and our waitress recommended getting the fetuccini Alfredo mixed with the marinera sauce. It was delicious! To top it off they surprised my husband with an incredible cinnamon chocolate cake with ice cream. He was so surprised and so excited. The staff was wonderful and gave him a birthday card with a GC included. We will definitely be going back and will be bringing friends."

"My girlfriend and I went there for a girls night out. Both of us being from The West coast and working in the nightlife out there, we are used to high energy, loud environments. We are also used to people with enough common curtesy to leave their young children at home. We were sat in the side room of the resturant, which is not a big deal her and I can have fun anywhere and we made last minute reservations. But there were quite a few young children in there, none of which knew how to use their inside voice or stay in their chair. We ended up eating our appetizer and taking our main course home. A little disappointing since it seemed like such a nice place. Maybe children shouldn't be allowed in fine dining resturants..."

There were 5 of us and although the service was efficent, the waiteer was very indifferent and I felt he knew the tip would be good based on the check. There was no energy in the service and few suggestions to make the experience better."

"It was our first time dining with you. Our table was ready 35 minutes after our reservation time. I loved the food but I think customer service was lacking. On the reservation i mentioned it was our wedding anniversary, other places take that into consideration and make our visit personable. No one mentioned anything."

"Excellent service and more than delicious food. The preset menu for Valentine's Day offered a variety of tasty choices for appetizers, salad and main dish. "The pre fixe meal was average at best. The steak was seasoned well but way under cooked. At most steak places they ask you to cut into steak to be sure it is to your liking. No one ever asked if our food was satisfactory. We will probably not return."

"Went to Kirby's for a birthday dinner. The interior is upscale and hip. Live jazz in the bar area. The food was a bit disappointing... Spending $40+ on a steak I expected a very appealing presentation. However, the filet came out on a huge plate that made the proportion look sad. It also had the appearance of sitting under a heat lamp for a while. Service was good but a little slow... It took 2 full hours for 3 courses. The waiter even apologized for taking so long on the main course. There are definitely other steakhouses that perform better at this price point."

Scallops were over seasoned and the lobster risotto was terrible and obviously prepared by someone not familiar with how to cook risotto. Not worth the price. Too noisy. "It was our anniversary and this was the perfect restaurant to celebrate! It was romantic, and the service was the best experience I ever had. It is on the pricey side, but it was an special occasion. They had live jazz when we were there, so it set the mood. The food is excellent! The dress is business casual. But we did wear jeans but dress it up. No tennis shoes. No children. I would go again but it would be for an special occasion only."
