"This restaurant was highly recommended. We both ordered the pheasant (highest priced item on the menu) and were disappointed when it appeared to be dry. There was not a lot of flavor - we were expecting it to be in a sauce but it wasn't. I also found the yam puree to be too much- a little less and perhaps more root vegetables. The dessert selection was pleasant and we did enjoy that. I don't know that we would return in the future. We didn't complain and the server never asked us if we enjoyed our meal even though we both left food on our plates."

"I have been to Alloy several times for a special occasion and for a nice dinner in a great place. The food has always been great and the service outstanding. Our last visit certainly did measure up! We had the pork and the short rib for entrees and spring rolls for appetizer. I recommend all of it. Thanks to Sabrina and the kitchen for another great visit!!!!"

"It was our 9th anniversay, and the staff at Alloy made it a great night. The appetizer and main were both fantastic, though we were not blown away equally by the desert - it was just OK.

"My friend was visiting from Vancouver and I had mentioned Alloy to her many times and finally we had the opportunity to have lunch. She thoroughly enjoyed it as did I. We shared two Appetizers ( Hummus and the Crab & Corn Fritters) and the Lobster Salad.... all were delicious. Service was great.... pleasant and efficient. I have dined many times at Alloy and I'm never disappointed and my friend who frequently dines out in Vancouver was very impressed."

"I have been to Alloy several times before with great experiences. My parents were in Calgary for mothers day so I figured I would treat them to a meal at Alloy. The steaks we ordered were cooked to the appropriate temperatures but the meal was worse than what you might find in a steak sandwich. For $38 I would certainly expect a proper steak. The pheasant was dry and overcooked to the point of being chewy. This was a huge let down for me as I have had incredible experiences at Alloy previously. Hopefully they will take steps to improve. I don't think I can honestly justify another trip back which is a shame as Alloy has an awesome ambiance and great modern decor."

Really good food!T hummus & olives wth pita bread were great. if pita was warm I'd say excellent.The roasted tomato soup wh cheese was delicious but t croutons tasted eggy to much. T main: scallops and grilled prawns were cooked to perfection and so savory, they were sitting in a delicious African pepper coulis. then t fermin chorizo was the crown of t saffron risotto that itself was very good.Great wine variety too, I got a Riesling that paired great with my dish! "Alloy has been one of my favourite restaurants since it's inception in Calgary. I have always picked this spot to host clients since the ambience is great, it is private enough to have a business conversation and feels like it would be more expensive that it actually is. My visit this time wasn't my favourite, however that was likely my fault as I ordered something with tomatoes in it and I don't care of tomatoes. Dessert was delicious! Peanut Butter & Chocolate."

"As a long time fan, but absent for a while without leave, it was nice to visit this old friend. We were off to Cirque, but left ourselves sufficient time so as not to be rushed. (We needed to arrive early and that 's the time they had available!) We enjoyed the "newish" menu and the attention we received from our server. A great way to start our evening out.

"The entire experience was very satisfying, starting with drinks at the bar, but you must teach the young bartenders (very nice service) how to make 'old world' drinks, like a proper martini. The service was prompt and attentive, the food excellent, however, the Pheasant was a touch stringy and tasted domestic, the Crab fish dish, on the other hand, gorgeous.

"I brought a friend to Alloy in celebration of her finishing her schooling. We enjoyed the pink champagne and shared several of your starters so we could try a little bit of everything and it was excellent. We sat in the beautiful white curved booth, and the only small problem was that there was a very loud talker beside us and with the low back of the bench it felt as if we were sitting at their table and conversation. Other than that it was wonderful. I'm looking forward to trying the patio once we finally we get nice weather!"

"We love the relaxed feel of this place - white, laid back and cozy – like a comfortable living room. We definitely would return to try more dishes. The calamari was amazing and the pheasent was refreshing. My partner ordered stake and the truffle side was amazing. Service was well-timed and friendly, wines were affordable."

"Expensive, yes but only considering the location. Appetizers were fantastic, mains were good, wine was just plain overpriced. Read some mixed reviews before going and I agree I have no clue how it remains so busy being where and what it is. Our food was, on balance, better than a milestones/earls and you paid for it.
Room was interesting but noisy. Would be a great restaurant if located downtown. Would go again, but not for a particularly special occasion."
