"Our food was great, the portions were a bit large for me, but the leftovers were awesome. One of the best appetizers I've ever had...although, the menu had a lot of similar flavors so I'd have to be in the mood for corn pudding and polenta and mexican/southwestern spices."

"The restraurant was very nice and the three other people with me had great meals, however my lamb although cooked to how I liked it came cold. The sauce was gold as well. The management did take it off the bill and were very good about appolgizing for it. It was unfortunate that I wasn't as impressed as the rest of my guests."

"We loved our experience at Indigo Grill and will return. The food was unique, flavorfull and artfully presented. The ambiance was warm and comfortable. "Our server was FANTASTIC, FRIENDLY and FAST. Forgot her name but we were a party of 15 across 2 tables with only an hour or so to eat and get to our post dinner plans...our server was courteous and patient. She was great with the group! Food was great and loved our table set up. Beet salad and brie appetizers and Flat iron steak with Chimichurri a must!Will refer friends and groups for sure!"

"Food was amazing and the wait staff was professional and energetic. They took care of everything with a smile on their face. Portions size was very generous and all food came out exactly as ordered. Reservation time was kept to the second (although we did finish our drinks at the bar which the staff did not blink at an eye at)"

"Food was beautiful and service was nice, menu well explained. Food looked a bit better than it tasted, presentation was outstanding. My salmon was awesome, squid ink pasta just OK and chopped side salad just OK. Not worth the cost. Appetizers, brie and grilled romaine were very good.

Reservation for 5 on a Monday night- restaurant was mostly empty. Two of us were there on time, 3 were detained about 20 minutes. Hostess called me while were were en route to restaurant and asked if we would be arriving soon. Two of us had already arrived, so she probably should have just talked to guests who were there. Felt a bit pressured for a monday night. Also noted in reservation that it was a birthday dinner, but restaurant did not offer anything."

"Our server, Kevin, was very friendly, attentive and knowledgeable. The staff really learns the menu which is important because each dish is loaded with exotic sauces and acoutrements that enhance the dish. Always a treat to eat at Indigo."

"I chose this restaurant because a friend had recommended it, and because it was close to the airport (my guest had a plane to catch). I really liked the menu, which offers a range of both choices and prices. My guest had pasta with mushrooms; the portion was very large, and the pasta was delicious. I had the tamale and the sauteed spinach; the tamale was delicious but the spinach was very salty. The server took it off the bill. Dessert was an incredible chocolate confection, way too big for one person to eat by themselves, but plenty for 3 to share. I would definitely go back."

"As always, I had an excellent dinner at Indigo Grill. The food was tremendous, especially the Flat Iron Chimichurri, which our server said was his favorite. It is now my favorite, too! The steak was cooked perfectly and the flavors were intense. My husband said that the Chocolate Caueta Vulcan was one of the best desserts he ever had. I agree - it was not overly sweet, but so addictive. The coffee was delicious. Last but not least, the service was friendly and excellent all around as well."

"The mix of flavors is so unique and interesting, I'd like to see an offering of "small plates." The portions are huge, and I felt at first overwhelmed and then bored by so much of the same. Next time I'll stick to appetizers--perhaps share a couple with a friend. And I'd definitely get a side order of the fabulous corn pudding!"

"Food was outstanding. Very exciting and exotic tastes in very generous portions. Definitely my monies worth. Waiter was so very friendly and professional. Sat outside and really enjoyed the heaters outside, and the music. The scenery is not the very best and its just a block away from the railroads so we heard the train passing by a couple of times, but it wasn't anything too unpleasant. Actually added to the energy of the night. I really would recommend this place to anyone who just wants to have a really good meal and get real value for their money. Staff was all very friendly, including valet. They even helped me find my wife's wedding band about an hour after we had left. Great place with great people and really really good food."

"It was our anniversary and I let them know that. They gave us the best table (a booth by the patio) and offered dessert on the house. Portions are huge - we shared appetizer and entree, but it was still too much. We had to take larger part of dessert home.

"Experience was awful!!!!! Was not given specificly requested table since it was "only for parties of four" stated hostess (I was party of two). Three minutes later she seated a party of two at said table, saying they had a reservation. So did I! Other hostess then spilled full cocktail at table next to me while cleaning table. As it splashed all over me and I exclaimed in surprise the hostess said "oh, did that get on you?" never even apologizing. Ordered $52 bottle of wine, but waitress said restaurant was out of wine chillers, she would bring us the next one available, one was never brought to our table. I could go on, but why? Will NEVER go to this restaurant again!!!!!!"

"This is at least our 8th visit to Indigo Grill - and have never been disappointed. Each main course is a wonderful mix of unique flavors and side dishes - all perfectly cooked. The prices are very fair, especially given the size of the portions - which are huge. The service is very attentive and not overbearing. My only complaint is that the menu seems fixed in space - it would be nice to have some new dishes to try. Even so, one cannot go wrong at Indigo Grill."

"We went to Indigo Grill during their extended Restaurant Week for my husband's birthday. We ordered off of the special menu. We're not big eaters, so we found that the serving for all 3 courses were more than ample, but we always take home leftovers. The food was well-prepared and creative, blending different types of flavors and fresh ingredients. We had an excellent server, Suzanne, which made the experience even more special. She was friendly, patient and attentive. Altogether a very nice experience at Indigo Grill!"

"Once again, another fabulous experience at Indigo Grill; still surprises me that we waited so many years to try this place. Nick, the GM and Theresa our server were fabulous! "So i finally bit the bullet and went to Indigo Grill for restaurant week. For some reason, even though I like other Cohen owned restaurants, I was averse to I.G. I think I thought it was too touristy. The service was excellent, knowledgable wait staff. The food was delicious, a real surprise of flavor combinations & preparations, beautiful presentation and enormous portion sizes. If you haven't been - definitely check it out."

"I had a co-worker who loves this place so we decided to check it out for Restaurant Week. Not only did they have the fixed price menu but a list of 10 bottles of wine for $10 as well. Great deal, great service and great food. Their grilled romaine salad is unique and excellent but the smoked salmon bruschetta was a real stand out also. The squid ink pasta was delicious and my cheesecake flautas were to die for. Only low points were that they were out of the Pinot Grigio off the $10 menu and we were seated next to the bathrooms."

"I really enjoyed the food. Xaxacan food is very unique to find in fine dining. I especially liked the fusion with other cuisines. My only critique would be that the restaurant was VERY loud. It was very difficult to have a conversation without uncomfortably raising my voice. It didn't help being seated next to a table with 2 vocal babies. If I were on a date it would have definitely bothered me more. Overall, I would certainly return on account of the food and bar."

"I went to Indigo Grill on the Monday of restaurant week. It was during the Charger's game, so the restaurant was not crowded. The appetizers were good: the ceviche was very fresh and clean and the sauce for the sweet corn tamale was tangy and bright and balanced the sweetness of the tamale. I had the salmon and my girlfriend had the stuffed chicken brest. The fish and chichen were prepared well and were flovorful. Unfortunately, the salad had little to none of the vinegrette and the best thing on either plate was the squid ink pasta with cream sauce that did not pair well with anything else on the plate. The flovors are interesting and the restaurant is worth trying, but I would not go back."

"A friend and I went ot Indigo Grill to partake in San Diego's Restaurant Week. We sat outside and were very happy with the atmosphere. The food was amazing, I will definitely be going back in the future. Our first server was Kevin, he was super nice, informative, and cute. It was a little slow so he was sent home, Jennie took over, she was also great. I was happily surprised to see a list of wines that were only $10, for an entire bottle! I beleive there were 5 or 6 reds and same with the whites. I would also definitely recomend this restaurant to friends. Oh and FYI the Squid Ink Pasta, is not made with squid ink, it's just dyed to have a dark color."

"The decor of the Indigo Grill was eclectic and colorful. Service was prompt, friendly and responded to the request for the beef for the gourmet nachos without questions. That is the only complaint that our table had. We expected more food for the price especially beef on the entree that goes for the shrimp dish also; only 6 (medium) shrimp on the entree that cost $20. Beautiful presentation but voluminous amounts of oinion, lettuce and cucumber to fill up an enormous plate. The pear martini was delicious though."

"Very nice. We had the booth in the back corner...very cool. It feels removed from a lot of the traffic inside the restaurant. I had the flat iron chimichurri and my girlfriend had the applewood salmon. Both entrees were amazing. The drinks were great I had a nice cabernet and she had the sangria. I like the fact that Indigo has awesome food with portions that actually fill you up...unlike some of the Gaslamp places that serve you filet with a little scoop of garlic mash and two spears of asparagus."

"We thought we were going to an Italian restaurant in San Diego's Little Italy. We were very
mistaken. However, we were extremely pleased with our dining experience. Excellent food,
prepared with high quality ingredients, and enormous portions. Our server was kind enough
to advise that we would not be able to finish an entree per person. Our salad was sufficient
for three and the same could almost be said for our main course. Our dinner came with a delicious flat bread with a dipping sauce. The wine list was more than adequate and wines
were fairly priced. Service was outstanding. Unlike many other parts of Downtown San Diego we were able to find street parking and Indigo's valet parking was only $7, instead
of $20 for other restaurant"

"This is our second visit to Indigo Grill. On both visits the food was absolutely outstanding and the service excellent! The menu selections are unique with wonderful flavor combinations. Indigo Grill sits right in the middle of Little Italy so there is plenty of strolling through interesting shops/markets before/after diner, if your so inclined. Most of the tables are close to the open windows fronting India street so people watching comes naturally during diner. On both visits our area was quite enough to easily carry on a conversation without having to raise you voice but we were there early so I would suspect it gets a little noisier later in the evening. We would (and have) gladly recommend Indigo Grill as a excellent place for diner."

"I have been going to Indigo Grill Since it opened. However, this last visit was by far the best experience I have had. The food is always consistent and layered with flavors. The Sesame Encrusted Brie and Grilled Romaine are to die for! This time the Nightly special was someting that was out of this world, Bacon Wrapped Pork Tenderloin with smashed Red potato, carmalized onions on a cedar plank......One Word: AMMMMMAZZZING...

"This is an interesting place with nice meals that dazzle your eyes. I found that each meal is twice as large as you expect so sharing is always the right option. This place is not a place that one would go for a romantic date, however, groups of friends is perfect. This place tends to get a bit loud so join in on the fun. Each meal will shower your taste-buds with an interesting spice or vegetable. Don't be afraid of the meals that come with a description of which runs so long that you must drink the water on the table, for the chefs know what they are doing. The dish brings flavor and decadence to every tongue."

"Delightful restaurant with very generous portions (recommend sharing, especially for salads). Food very well prepared. "I went to the Indigo Grill with two girlfriends on Friday night for dinner and had a fantastic time. Our waiter was a lot of fun and the manager was circulating saying hello to everyone which was a really great touch. As always the food was great (try the brie) and the atmosphere welcoming but not too overpowering. We will be going back!"

"First time visitor. The clams and mussels appetizer is fantastic. The rack of lamb is served with a tasty blueberry glaze, though it's a somewhat skimpy serving of chops (only four... that seems like half a rack to me). Service is professional and very pleasant, and even though apologies were made for a delayed delivery of the entree courses, we didn't notice the problem. Spacing between tables is somewhat tight, but the atmosphere inside the restaurant and in the neighborhood (Little Italy) is vibrant."

"I have always enjoyed Indigo Grill; however, I have noticed that there seems to be far too much food on the plates then is necessary. I ordered the Jalapeno-cilantro pappardelle w/prawns which had far too much ingredients and hardly any prawns. The pasta was delicious, but it was so overpowered by all the cut up peppers in a huge bowl which took away from the enjoyment of the dish. My partner had the Hazelnut crusted halibut which was delicious, but again there was far too much food on the plate to finish. I know that in this day and age people want more bang for their buck, but I would like to see smaller portions along with more substance."

"This was one of the first restaurants in the Little Italy neighborhood and glad that it is still around. The baked brie appetizer is still scrumptious! Not too sure about the grilled romaine, but the Veracruz tamales were delicious as well.

"Indigo Grill is a fantastic restaurant if you are looking for a great meal. Their brie, mussels and tamales are all wonderful. For entrees, the lamb chops, flat iron steak and the bass, served whole, are exceptional.

If you get a chance, request the waiter Ben, he's very knowledgable on the menu and the chef's inspirations, as well as signature cocktails made with ingredients from the local farmer's market. Everyone from the hostess, the expo, the wait staff and the manager, Mark, all provide a high-level of service which keeps us coming back. The staff works as a tight family and communicate very well with eachother.

"Returned again because Indigo Grill hosted the Jazz 88 CD Release Party and hubby liked the appetizers and I told him what a great dinner I'd had the week before with a friend. We both really enjoyed our meals and didn't have bad thing to say. I do recommend however that if you order the Pipian Rojo Chicken, ask them to not put the ranchero sauce on it. The flavor was so much better without all that extra distracting contrast. All the dishes at Indigo Grill are more than enough to share with another and/or have plenty for left overs. We love the way the food is presented. Everyone can find something, thank you for having more than just salads for vegetarians!"
