Jacobs & Co. Steakhouse
In the elegant King West village, Jacobs & Co. is the mature Steakhouse of the next generation. Our décor is sophisticated and timeless and moves away from the stuffy old steakhouse, while retaining the core elements of comfort. The piano bar adds a classy element to the neighborhood and is the perfect compliment to pre or post dinner cocktails. USDA Prime Beef and American Wagyu Beef are sourced from specific ranches across North America and are then finished in the Dry Aging Room in the middle of the dining room. Our menu is reminiscent of a wine list allowing guests to choose beef by age, region, and ranch. Jacobs & Co. also features a raw bar with fresh oysters and marinated chilled seafood. Join us for cocktails after work or a more intimate dinner in our main dining room.

"First time at this restaurant. We were both impressed and enjoyed everything immensely. Yes, depending on what you order, it can get expensive but it is completely worth it if you want to treat yourself. As others have commented, the Cesar salad which is made by your table was really quite delicious. The steaks were cooked exactly the way we had requested and our side order of duck fat fries and sautéed spinach were wonderful accompaniments. Because I had mentioned that it was our wedding anniversary when I made the reservation we also received a complimentary glass of champagne, which was a lovely touch. The service was prompt, friendly, and attentive without being overbearing. I would not hesitate to go back to this restaurant!"

"The range of steaks on the menu and the different choices reads like a top wine list. The Caesar salad made at your table is amazing and the dry aged steaks are simply the best in the city. Top quality wait staff make it the perfect evening out."

"We came here with a group of 6 for my wife's birthday. The food, as expected, was fantastic. The service was also first class, our group was there for almost 4 hours and not once did we feel rushed. (Peter Luger's take note).
My only gripe was the dining room which i found too "modern" for what i would prefer in a steakhouse. This is literally the only point against them and is obviously extremely subjective and personal..
Incredibly, after all we ate, dessert was still ordered and also did not disappoint. We will most certainly be back, most likely to check out the bar with some work buddies.
Ps- The caesar is an absolute must."

"This past Saturday, my wife and I celebrated our 8th wedding anniversary at Jacobs & Co. Steakhouse. From the get go, the service was excellent, as our waiter started us off with glasses of sparkling wine to toast the occasion, on the house. As we settled into the menu, our waiter guided us through the many steak options, explaining the aging process and the nuances between the various types of beef offered. The caesar salad, prepared table side, was outstanding. The wait staff continued to impress throughout the evening, providing a very high level of service while still allowing us the right amount of intimacy for the occasion. This was the best meal I have had in Toronto since moving here a year and a half ago."

"I have had the pleasuring of dining at Jacobs & Co 3 times now. Each time I have been very impressed with the service and the quality of the food. This time was no exception. We were celebrating my son's 18th birthday with our family. Our server was excellent and made the entire experience very enjoyable. We will definitely go back."

"Very expensive but truly the ultimate steakhouse experience including excellent food and efficient, courteous service. Excellent East and West coast oysters for a start, extensive wine list, amazing beef tartar appetizers and cooked to perfection steaks. Impressive meat display and variety even for people who are not big meat eaters. The warm bread was to die for. The steaks were served exactly as ordered and accompanied with various salts / seasoning which we found not to be required. Our steaks were perfect without any extras. The side dishes are quite big and can be shared. Had absolutely no room for desert but took the muffins they give you for the morning coffee (nice touch)."

"We went to Jacob's for a birthday celebration..on a Sunday evening so the place was dead. I had called ahead to see if they could do something special for my date and they told me that they would provide a complementary birthday dessert complete with special note. All our food was spot on. Unfortunately, I did experience a glitch as the waiter was not informed that my date was celebrating a birthday. I told him as we ordered dessert. The dessert did come on a plate with a generic "happy birthday" in chocolate. Nothing special...and they charged me for it. The downside - Jacob's is extremely expensive. A 12.00 bottle of wine sells for 90.00. Our bill came to just over 350. and we each had an appy, split a main, and ordered 1 dessert."

"Absolutely spectacular. From the wine to the steak to the service ... a beauty! "Very helpful staff who answered all our questions. The menu initially seems quite daunting, but the waiter was very helpful in steering us in the right direction. Some steaks that are very expensive are actually large and meant for sharing which I did not realize initially. Really enjoyed the Caesar salad which was made tableside!"

"I dined at Jacob's & Co to celebrate my boyfriend's 25th birthday. We had an outstanding experience here. The food was exceptional and the service was great! The staff were all very kind as each of them greeted and smiled at you as you passed them by. The waiter was very personable and helpful in recommending which steak to order. Will definitely return! I miss the food already!
My complaints:
- The noise at the restaurant was pretty loud. As more people settled in for dinner, it became quite noisy and we almost couldn't hear each other speak! I felt that it took away from the romantic evening. I wish we could dine downstairs.
- Note that only valet parking is available for $20. We found a public P parking lot very close by though."

"Jacobs as always was a fantastic experience. However our server this time did not properly explain the menu. I was treating my friends to a pre-wedding dinner and I asked our server to explain the menu 4 times but every time he said I will, do not worry.
In the end when he did explain, he was very brief and did not give a lot of details about the meat. I will call Jacobs and find out who served me last time and only ever come to Jacobs when he is working because clearly they do not train everyone the same way."

"As a restaurant manager I am a hard guest to please. I have very high expectations of my team and this translates to service when I dine out. In such a high-end restaurant one would expect that the service would be flawless however our expectations were exceeded tenfold. From the greeting at the door to the fond farewell, the entire team at Jacobs worked seamlessly to ensure that we had all of our needs met. Special requests were tended to without hesitation, the team was professional yet friendly and the wine selection was OUTSTANDING. Food was great and far rivaled any competition in the city. Jacobs hit every mark and our entire experience was fantastic from start to finish. Ask for Adam when you dine there as he is a top-knotch waiter!"

"Got off to a bad start when the hostess asked "Are we expecting you?" in a stiff, formal manner. Made me feel like a homeless person coming in for a handout, although in my Brioni suit. Then, she went away and a SECOND hostess asked "Are we expecting you", also in a rather brusque manner. This is NOT very welcoming for a fine dining establishment.
The server was great, though, and we quickly put the rude welcoming behind us. Steaks were great and we found a nice bottle of wine on the overpriced wine list, that made sense."

"We went to Jacobs & Co for my fiance's 30th birthday and had a great time! When making our reservation on Open Table I put a note that it was for his birthday and each staff member we saw wished him, which was really nice and thoughtful. The food and service were both impeccable. The decor is modern and elegant, in great contrast to other high-end steakhouses in Toronto which feel a bit old-fashioned and stuffy. In addition to the steak, the Cesar salad is a must! It is of course, expensive (~$100/person without alcohol) but we will definitely we back!"

"My first time visiting and the restaurant lived up to the buzz I had read about it. Service was good in the bar area and in the dining area. Food was superb - careful as it is very easy to order too many delicious sides. The only thing I noted is the the tables for two are very long ... Feels like you are a little too far from your dinner partner."

"From the time you step in to the time you depart - service is top notch. My server was excellent, the hostess was friendly, and the food is ALWAYS worth it!
I've never been a fan of T-bone but my server recommended it - I've never had a server recommend a T-bone. This one was from a farm in Norfolk, ON and the server recommended it over a rib eye from High River, Alberta but his confidence sold me and we were so glad that we listened to him. We shared the steak and with the appetizers, dessert, wine, everything was just perfect portions. I had forgotten about their awesome bread and the lovely departing gift of the muffins to take home. Nice touch!"

"We have gone several times to this restaurant.
For this occasion we had a special request which they excellently fulfilled.

This time we ordered the famous Caesar salad which was delicious and it is kind of funny to see how they prepare it in front of you in that old-fashioned trolley with the wooden bucket.
Unfortunately, despite we ordered our T-Bone medium-rare, they served it medium. We thought of sending it back but the truth is it was still really good.
They have a rather pricy but endless wine list. On the other hand, I have to say the cocktails are incredible and really well priced.
Service is impeccable, as usual."

"By far one of the best experiences at a restaurant with my boyfriend! We have been to many steakhouses and this one most definitely tops them all. The waiters extensive knowledge about the menu was great, and the service was impeccable. Their caesar salad made from scratch at our table was a real treat, and the steaks we got were cooked to perfection. Desserts were also good. Is a must see!"

"Excellent service paired with great food. Waiters are knowledgeable and are always aware of you (they don't forget about you even though it gets busy). I recommend ordering several different cuts of steaks and sharing it with the table. The salads and sides are delicious too. Ask for their special sides (not on the menu)."

"Great dining experience, service was outstanding, steaks were wonderful and perfectly cooked, I found the sides a bit bland, spinach and mushrooms were under seasoned. Wine list is practically a novel, but our server happily helped us through it and found a bottle of our liking and budget. The table side caesar was delicious and entertaining to watch. Being a restaurant professional of 10 years this was a great experience, though a little out of my tax bracket, it was well worth it. I would highly recommend this as Toronto's premier steakhouse!"
