"Normally, it's a great experience which is why I go about once or twice a month. This time, the wine was delivered in a wet glass, the salad arrived sans serving utensils and they took my plate and salad dressing before I finished the salad. There must be a new movement to clear tables faster, as there were three attempts to take the salad before one person was successful.
I ordered the pork shank with mashed potatoes and spinach. It was nice and tender, but pretty bland. I rarely add salt at the table, but on this day, it was a must. I will return, but will wait awhile."

"The drinks were generous and reasonably priced. The crab crostini and the crab chowder were to die for as was the seafood stew and prime rib. Driving to or from San Francisci on I 80? Check on Open Table for availability. The restaurant is very spacious and a busy parking lot doesn't tell you how many available tables there are inside."

"NOooooo parking! Drove around for 20 minutes waiting for a space. Place was packed but I had reservation and my party was seated while I drove around and around. Waiter was to come back once we all (4) were there but more than half an hour later he had still not returned so flagged down another to inquire what was up. Couldn't hear each other talk to even pass the time! Service then got somewhat better but never received extra butter requested once bread finally arrived. Second bread offered , eventually came about 30 seconds before meal. Food was great as always but service was understandably slow/poor due to the hoards of folks there. I think I'll stick to lunches and dinners on non-holidays since I prefer a less chaotic environment!"

"To be fair, it was Mother's Day and it was very busy so the service was a little lacking because they were so crazy busy at dinnertime. When she came by she was wonderful, nice, attentive, etc. but it took a long time to get our 2 drinks that we ordered and she never even asked the other 2 at our table if they wanted anything to drink at all. We had to flag her down to order an iced tea for one of them. The food was excellent, though, and we would definitely go back. The sizzling plateof mussels and shrimp, along with a side of perfectly cooked asparagus, was perfect for my meal. My husband had the trout poached in olive oil and it was delicious. The other two at our table really enjoyed their meal as well."

"We went on a Saturday night - one day before Mother's Day. With a reservation for 7pm, we had to wait until 7:45pm to get seated, because the restaurant was absolutely packed!! But waiting was a lot of fun because the bar area is great. Lots of tables and bar stools at and around the bar. Every single prepared drink we ordered felt weak due to very large amounts of ice. Mojito didn't have enough sugar. Martini had too much ice. Gin & tonic was weak. Beer ofcourse was great. Once seated, we just loved the outside patio with view of the bridge and delta river. Service was very good - very attentive and prompt. Food was really great - fresh! We had halibut and another fish called Basa. All in all - great restaurant! Will be back!"

"For me a bit of a splurge for the average night, but for wife's birthday our 16 yr-old daughter joined us for their terrific roasted crab. Appetizers included the crab chowder and steamed clams and an extra of my passion, calamari, made it a very delightful celebration. Too full to order dessert, but the b-day tribute brought what seemed as a 2-layer mousse of vanilla and chocolate which made her eyes roll back into her head - a good sign. A "thumbs up" from all."

"Everything about the dinner dining experience, our first at this restaurant, was positive.
The view is great. The wait staff was helpful and observant -- the waiter noticed a birthday card and later brought a slice of very tasty cake with candles and sang "Happy Birthday."
The crab enchilada was delicious, as was the salad.
The only negative: Parking was more difficult than we expected."

"Our go-to neighborhood destination which offers it all..lovely ambiance, great food, wonderful views of the Carquinez bridges, Strait and sunsets, beautifully trained friendly staff, multiple choices of outdoor eating, comfy bar eating at either small intimate round tables, leather booths or the bar, optional viewing of TV sports events, fireside dining in cool weather, seating for large groups in the main dining rooms, very responsive servers and best of all, free unlimited corkage! The olive oil poached salmon cooked medium rare with roasted asparagus and broccoli and their original preparation of Caesar salad with whole romaine leaves and shaved aged Parmesan, (which you have to ask for), are our favs...."

"It was last minute decision to go to this restaurant. The greeter seated us right away because we have reservation. We saw others were waiting, we assumed they don't have reservation. The seat was nice. It was kinda closed booth. Spacious for my big guy, but it was too big for my small figure. We seated across from each other, so I feel kinda lonely in that big seat by myself.
I ordered Pasta with crab. The crab was only crumble on the pasta. Disappointed. I was hoping to have other than "crumble of crab" on it as it is a seafood restaurant. The taste was good though, and those crumble crabs taste fresh. But still disappointed.
My guy ordered from their steak menu and it was a good one. The meat came as he expected, tender & tasty."

"The dining experience was great! We watched a sailboat race while we ate. The crab and shrimp louie was excellent. It was our 60th wedding anniversary and we were treated very special. "I couldn't begin to count how many times I've been to the Dead Fish. I love it! I enjoy the cozy atmosphere in the bar area when it is cold outside (fire place) and the view outdoors on a warm day. The outdoor tented tables for romantic evenings aren't bad either. My favorite things to order are the sizzling platers, of mussels, crab & shrimp. Favorite salads are the crab cesar & beet salad. And, a cup of crab chowder is a must to dip your bread into. The service is also great, well timed and friendly."

"The menu has a great variety of seafood and prime rib steaks. I had the fish and chips and it was cooked to perfection. The waiter we had appeared new, so our service was just good, but overall service at the restaurant should be very good. On crowded dining evenings would suggest a reservation with a water view, otherwise you will end up in one of the back rooms with no view of the water. Food is very good, just a little on the expensive side, dinner for 2 with cheaper meals ran with tip $75/couple."

"For the most part, we had an outstanding experience at Dead Fish. This is a great non-chain restaurant with a stunning view and fits family dining, dates, bar scene, etc. The only confusion was when we first checked in. I initially made reservations and requested near a window for view but when we got to the restaurant apparently they checked another party in under my name (which I couldn't understand because my name is uncommon). When they were going to sit us in a non-scenic part of the restaurant, another hostess catered to our request to at least put us near a window. Waiter was great and attentive and food portions were plentiful and tasty."

"I celebrated my birthday at The Dead Fish. The Resturant is absolutely fantastic! We had reservations, but arrived a little early and the waitress seated us immediately. We arrived at the right time as we were able to be seated in one of their cabanas. The view and Ambience. What a special treat. Each cabana has a ceiling fan and a heating unit, which the diner can contol. From our cabana we were able to view the bridge and the bay. The day was sunny and the weather was mild. I believe those two factors contributed to the spectucular view. The food was excellent. I had the Roasted Garlic Crab and my husband had Fish and Chips. Magnificent!!!"
