"This place is wonderful! We've been there several times and have loved the food every trip. This time we went on a Saturday night; it was crowded but there are several rooms to the restaurant so I think they can handle a big crowd and you might not even need a reservation. When we were seated they put us in a back room that had no view. We asked to sit on the outside deck, which wasn't a problem. It was great! There are overhead heaters but it wasn't a cold night and was pleasant outside - quiet too....with a wonderful view of the water and the bridge. The service was also great....no problems there either. The bar is another place to eat, with views of the water too and the other dining room is lovely with large fireplace, view."

"The experience on Valentine's day: We had a reservation for 7:00 P.M. and when we got there (at 6:50) were told we had about an hour wait. Luckily for us, we don't mind dining outside and were promptly told we could sit outside and be served without having to wait. The accomodations outside were excellent. It was a bit chilly outside, but each table has a good heatlamp directly above the table. The food was great, we ordered the crab crostinis as an appetizer (which are crab, avocado and smoked salmon on a large crouton type bread), steak and crab, and the Halibut. All dishes were prepared well, and very tasty. All in all, an outstanding restaurant (as long as you dont mind a wait)."

"We were seated at the bar while our table was being set. I had the best cosmopolitan ever!!! With a FANTASTIC view of the straights. Our table was set in front of the fire and it was cozy and romantic. The combo seafood platter was more than enough to feed 2 big eaters. The sauce was amazing and the NY Cheescake was the most scrumptous desert ever! I cant wait for the weather to warm up so we can dine outside and enjoy the beautiful view of the ever so popular Vallejo."

"This was the first time I'd been to the Dead Fish in quite some time. On my last visit, we were seated in the "fish room" and the smell was just too much for me and the rest of my party and ruined our meal. On this visit, I requested that we be seated in the dining room where the bar is and this made all the difference. I made my reservation on the way to the restaurant via mobile OpenTable and got a reservation right away which surprised me being that it was Valentine's Day. The crab enchiladas were excellent and my dining partner said her crab sandwich was delicious. You can't beat the views of the Carquinez Strait and Bridge and heaters were keeping the people eating outside comfy too. It was a wonderful meal and vibrant crowd."

"This is one of our favorite restaurants... Discovered it about 6 months ago, and have been back several times since. We love the Brunch items, but only the Lunch menu was available. I had the "Crabwich" with a small order of fries, and was very surprised at the poor value at $19!! The sandwich came on their signature baguette, but was certainly not worth the price tag! My husband had the "Fishwich", and it was an excellent value. We'll be back, I'll just stick to certain menu items from now on. Overall dining experience not as good as previous visits."

"overlooks the water, binoculars provided. All dishes were excellent. Best crab louie around... romaine halves with grilled asparagus, lots of crab, tomatoes olives, and a wonderful louie dressing. We can't believe we did not know this restaurant was there, just 1/4 mile from interstate 80!"

"The bread which came to the table was a little dry; but, that just meant I didn't fill up on bread, so it was fine. My husband does not eat seafood, so ordered the prime rib, which he said was fantastic -- flavorful and perfectly cooked. I had the Dead Fish Stew, aka cioppino, which was delicious and chock full of fish and shellfish, including crab. For dessert the Tiramisu Martini (tiramisu served in a martini glass) is awesome -- creamy, rich, smooth, delicious. The restaurant has the potential to be quiet and romantic, with a good view. But, with bright lights and lots of tables, it's surprisingly casual. Not a bad thing, just unexpected. This is our 2nd time at The Dead Fish, and we'll continue to come back."

"The Dead Fish restaurant overlooks the Carquinez Straits and Bridge - very scenic. The ambience is welcoming and comfortable, the patio is inviting, even in cold weather with their outdoor heaters. The menu is ample and filled with delicious combinations of food, especially comfort food combined with fresh fish. The service is gracious and attentive. Good for families and couples."

"My husband & I travel frequently between Sacramento and Union City, and The Dead Fish has become one of our favorite mid-route stopping points for a late lunch (we love the garlic cheese bread, their salads, and just about any fish entree) or simply for a pick-me-up cocktail & conversation. Their Blood Mary is among the best we've tasted and is refreshing with a zing! We've eaten both in the small dining area with large windows facing the bridge with amazing views of Carquinez Strait as well as in the casual bar area with high tables and stools. In both the views were unbeatable, the service exemplary, and the food/drinks outstanding. We splurged on the prime rib awhile back and definitely would recommend this dish to others as well!"

"I ordered a french dip sandwich (I know, it's a seafood restaurant). I asked them to put swiss cheese on it and they refused, stating that they don't guarantee the quality of the food if they alter the menu at all. For $14.95, all I got was a roast beef sandwich, no fries, no side salad, coleslaw, or cup of soup. That's a lot of money for JUST a sandwich that they wouldn't even add a piece of cheese to. Many places put swiss on their french dip sandwiches. I also ordered a side soup w/beans, sausage and chard. The base was so thick, it was more of a stew, not a soup. I shared an order of garlic fries w/my friend and they hardly had any garlic on them. They did, however, provide a free birthday dessert for my friend that was delicious"
